  1. I don't know whether this qualifies, but I've always been fascinated by how Bill Bell and Kay Alden handled both the Brad/Leslie/Lorie and the Lance/Lorie/Leslie/Lucas storylines on Y&R. It seems like there was so much more going on underneath than just two sisters going gaga for the same guy.
  2. Frankly, I think it's time for the writers (and for Sara Gilbert) to pursue Darlene in a same-sex relationship. Because, IMHO, Sara has never been able to portray a heterosexual female convincingly. Not even when she was on the old show and involved with David.
  3. Ironically, I think Jean Le Clerc was transplanted to LOVING from AMC, because AMC's writers had basically run out of story for Jeremy.
  4. I didn't think he was (or is) ugly either.
  5. It wouldn't. If I were Morina or Griffith, I'd hire Wayne Northrop (ex-Roman/Alex, DAYS) to play Sharon's long-lost dad. I could see someone like him being married once to Karen Hensel's Doris. Maybe I'm nuts -- okay, I'm nuts -- but I think William R. Moses (ex-Cole, FALCON CREST; ex-Keith, MELROSE PLACE) would be a good Jeff Webber recast.
  6. TBH, I don't like those episodes. They felt awfully bitter to me.
  7. That was my feeling as well. As described, it just didn't sound like AMC to me. I'd much rather see them take the "Dark Shadows" route and go back to the very beginning, with the Tara/Phil/Chuck story.
  8. I can't recall the last time ABC had a show that was "must-see" for me. I mean, "black-ish" is excellent, but it isn't something I wait with anticipation to see each week. They probably liked the script, but worried whether the show would appeal to anyone outside of the general, soap-viewing audience. If ABC is serious about bringing back AMC, then they need to stream new episodes on Hulu (or some other streaming service) and leave it at that.
  9. Leonard Katzman never knew how to write for women. The only reason why Sue Ellen was so strong when she left was because Linda Gray was tired of playing her as the weak-willed alcoholic and wanted her to become less dependent on the bottle and J.R.
  10. Agree. If anything, I think this change seals Ashland's fate even more. They can kill him off now and claim it's because Newman had no chemistry with Heinle. (Which would be true, because Heinle has chemistry with virtually no one.) It'd be a shame, though, because I would at least try an Ashland/Ashley/Traci triangle before just dumping him altogether. And to those who suggest (jokingly) that Kim Zimmer join her former on-screen partner at this show? No. If she goes anywhere, let it be to B&B.
  11. ICAM. CBS, IMO, owed it to Angela Lansbury, who had done so much for the network's Sunday night lineup, to let her end her series on her terms. IIRC, though, they did move MSW back to Sundays at some point -- toward the end of the season, when the cancellation was already a done deal -- and the ratings rebounded. But, like I said, it was already too little, too late.
  12. This show is truly a mess.
  13. More likely, they'll have a desperate Devon kidnap the child, make everyone think he's dead, and then wind up escorted out of town and into the nearest prison while Chance and Abby are reunited with their precious baby.
  14. Or if extraterrestrials kidnap the baby and switch it with an "alien baby." (Heck, Salem's been visited by the devil twice. Might as well go full-on supernatural.)
  15. Okay, did Alan blackmail Margaret Colin into doing the interview?
  16. And Gale Gordon as Gordon Grey.
  17. Chances are, Sarah's gonna start talking about her time on GENERAL HOSPITAL, and Alan's gonna interrupt immediately to talk about the night he spent in the E.R.
  18. Because, Robert Scott Wilson's abs are gorgeous. Why is Susan holding up a crucifix? He's possessed by the devil, not Dracula.
  19. Well, that's the price Leonard Katzman had to pay for dismissing an entire season so cavalierly. Yep. The era of the big, glossy nighttime soaps was reaching its apex.
  20. Poor Sarah. She really doesn't deserve this.
  21. Same. Julie Andrews. Carol Burnett. Dame Angela Lansbury.
  22. In a way, I'm glad they changed their minds about giving Michael and Donna triplets. It just seems like overkill to me.
  23. Especially when it doesn't appear to be drug-related or the result of foul play. Did he have any chronic illnesses?
