Possibly, yes. Recently, I learned Schnessel briefly wrote for ATWT (under Douglas Marland) after exiting OLTL. I'm curious as to whether CBS/P&G planned to have him replace Marland as HW. Of course, if that was their plan, his untimely death likely scuttled it.

Agree. It's cruel to ask her to play this storyline given her RL circumstances. But, on the other hand, tactfulness was never one of Frank Valentini's strong points.

If he does recast, might I suggest Daniel Lissing ("When Calls the Heart")? Sure, Lissing is younger than Ingo, but in this case, I truly would not mind. Jax is that superfluous to me.

I think it could have been the other way around: the network wanted to do everything it could to save AMC (and OLTL), but Frons, who never saw any value in the soaps, cancelled the shows first chance he got.

IIRC, Allen Potter was a producer on ATWT during the early '60's. He also worked on OUR PRIVATE WORLD.

Oh, JER's first HW'ing stint was "The Forsyte Saga" compared to the 20 or 22 that have come afterward. I honestly believe much of that era was about giving soft- and hard-core porn actors some legit SAG credits. Maybe it's just me, but I really thought someone at AMC would have brought back Kevin Sheffield ('memba him?) at some point. Would Ben Jorgensen have been tapped to reprise the role? Prolly not. But I really, really thought he'd pop up again (and I wasn't even a fan!).

It seems like SFT saw Warren/Michael Corbett as their answer to GL's Roger Thorpe/Michael Zaslow, right down to the two men's single-minded obsession with abducting their own children (Jonah and Christina/Blake, respectively) from their suffering mothers.

This is gonna seem like a MAJOR reach, but...Morgan Fairchild (ex-Jennifer, SFT; ex-Sydney, THE CITY). I realize Alice was created before Rachel. However, you have to remember that Agnes Nixon positioned "good" Alice as a counterpoint to "bad" Rachel -- a dichotomy that was rendered nonexistent once Harding Lemay (and Victoria Wyndham) evolved Rachel into a more heroine-like character. So, if I had been Lemay, or Paul Rauch, I would have "flipped the script," so to speak, and had Alice become the vixen, and the woman who (perhaps, angered that her onetime rival has finally gotten everything she's ever wanted, while she has had to suffer losing both her mother and the absolute love of her life) is determined never to be the "loser" again.

I think that's true of many soaps -- not just SFT, but THE DOCTORS, LOVING, SANTA BARBARA, etc. -- that's more concerned about survival than anything else.

You know, a big issue I have with this show is that there are, like, 75 characters on there atm, but I recognize maybe ten of 'em. Seriously, Frank, are you just gonna give every actor in L.A. a blow job?

Frankly, Esther no longer serves a purpose on this show and needs to go. Same goes for about 2/3rds of the entire cast.
