  1. The truth is, no song -- no matter how great -- is worth the money it would cost. It is crazy to spend considerable money on a regular basis to use any song. BTG should have its own theme. I do think a good opening and theme matters, and I hate that network TV has all but given up on them. That's one thing the streamers do exceptionally well on so many series. I love the way an open makes a statement, sets the mood/tone, and announces "This show is important."
  2. -- Yeah, I was rolling my eyes like crazy on that one. Of course, they're still taking days to color in their designs on paper instead of using tablets and computer programs, so that fits. The fact that they're getting rid of Electra without even talking to her...this show is a laugh riot. -- Does anyone care that Zende is "sticking with the family" regarding the FC takeover? How edgy that the Black guy doesn't support the Black guy. And Zende is the inside guy who can save the company from the takeover? ZENDE??? LOL -- Why would FC sink without Eric, Ridge, and Steffy? LOL -- Carter naming Brooke as CEO just shows he's as big a moron as anyone at that company. Why name someone who's clearly going to bring even more drama to the situation? Because he's an idiot.
  3. -- Did I really just hear Lucky utter the line "Wow...I think I need to shower" when Ric left Liz's house? I think the writers are all over social media. -- Sonny in a church? Yeah, this show is phucking with us.
  4. The hate for this character/actor is beyond ridiculous. I can see wanting someone gone. I've written those posts myself. But I just can't understand the piling on when this character has done very little, both in story and in airtime. Sorry, I don't get it.
  5. As far as ATWT openings go, I prefer this one. I hope BTG gives us something this memorable.
  6. I don't think that's true. Y&R has improved immensely since Ed Scott returned, and it's back to being the best-looking soap. Yep.
  7. LOL I fully agree with you. From what I see, these criticisms are based on nothing. Not a thing. But likewise, there's nothing about that promo that is "amazing." It's interesting, it looks good, and it does what it's intended to do -- promote the soap. But amazing? It's not. Have to agree. In that shot, the mix of outfits doesn't work for me.
  8. It's a SOAP. I really don't understand the criticism. What exactly did you want to see? Calling that promo "trashy and unsophisticated" just seems like trolling to me.
  9. One set looks "large and lush." The office set, not so much. Look, I'm not playing Debbie Downer here, an I have a problem with people who are negative about that promo. They're absurd. Still, I think it's shaky to overpraise anything at this point. It's exciting to get a new soap, but our expectations should still be reasonable.
  10. True. And honestly, all this horniness doesn't do much for me. I think both actors are iincredibly good-looking, but I do not see any sizzling chemistry. When Carter was all over Quinn, they were 🔥. These two, not so much.
  11. The teaser trailer is pretty good, but I wouldn't get too excited about it. We've seen this before -- spending a lot more to intro a show, followed by a "realistic" budget. I highly doubt we're going to get primetime production values on a regular basis.
  12. That 10 minutes was enough for us to hear Katie tell Brooke that Ridge will come back soon, and that he'll come to his senses and apologize for what he said. I mean, can Katie be any more ridiculous? Of course, this is the Katie who's allowed $B to treat her like cow dung for over a decade.
  13. Nothing special about that scene at all. Honestly, I'm inured to these goodbye scenes on GH at this point. It's become The Death Show. It's bad enough when GH actors die, but when you add all these storyline killings on top of it? Too much. It's hard to feel anything when you've started a Death-of-the-Month Club.
  14. I criticize RC's writing a lot, but Doug's death and funeral was long enough. We don't need weeks and weeks of that, even if it's a beloved character who's died. I'm actually glad KA's return was delayed a couple days, giving other returns the spotlight before she got her own. And I've said this before, but SSH was given enough to do. Yes, she's adored and we all love her, but her style of acting is...a choice. Her scenes with Doug did not work for me, and I never got emotional over any of it. I wouldn't even nominate her for these scenes.
  15. Parts of the article are over-the-top -- the writer is clearly a fanboy -- but I don't really have a problem with it. Pieces like that are for the fans and Evan Hofer did have a few even if his fan base isn't on this board. I don't think EH is a future Oscar winner, but he was fine on GH, especially when you consider the way his character was bounced around. This was a GH failure, IMO. Does Hofer lay on the praise for GH and its actors a little thick? Yes, but I think that's a smart move. Scorched earth almost never helps, and "Bye everyone" doesn't open many doors either. Being this positive on the way out can't hurt. I won't miss Dex, but I did like him there, if that makes sense. I can't say the same about a lot of GH characters.
  16. That alone is enough to make me look at the PM tenure as a fail. With a cast of dozens, you're getting rid of Maura West? Just no. I feel bad for Eden, too, and it's really the reason I'm not sure about killing off Dex. Three deaths for Joss already? There were a lot of ways to make the Dex character work, and GH avoided all of them.
  17. Sorry, I don't understand this. How does adding a bunch of dayplayers show budget crunching? Yes, those actors are paid little, but they still add to the budget. They aren't free.
  18. I'm still not ready to blame the budget for these cast exits -- not when we get characters like the woman with the Euro-trash accent and a dozen jocks brawling in the park.
  19. Yeah, I'm fine with either of them or Alex going shirtless even in the dead of winter. IT is hilarious to see Xander lifting weights in the living room.
  20. Good question. I think it depends on what "doing well" means. We're all REALLY excited here about BTG, but it's not going to be a cakewalk to get "good" ratings. My fingers are crossed, but I honestly think ratings won't be as high as we're expecting. ABC and NBC would have to cancel extensions of their GMA and Today franchises to make room for a new soap, and I have a feeling those afternoon news/entertainment shows are very inexpensive. I think off-the-hook ratings -- something like those of TPIR or even Y&R -- would open TV execs eyes to more soaps, but I don't expect that to happen.
  21. -- So Carter's in charge of Forrester Creations. What do he and Hope first decide to do? Carter sits at Ridge's desk and Pleather Hope sits on his lap to stroke his head. Yeah, That screams leading a company. -- Does Ridge get to clear his desk and office? Does he get to take his family photos? -- Why is Will all "Congrats, man" and "Congrats, cuz!" when he hears about the takeover? Who talks and acts this way? Among first people you deliver this company-changing move are Will and Electra? -- Steffy talks to her mother. That's what Rebecca Budig has already become -- a talk-to. -- Uh oh, next week we already get Ridge leaning in to Taylor for a kiss. Maybe Taylor should be called a moron instead of a talk-to. And maybe Ridge should look in the mirror when he calls someone a slut. -- Ridge is all "Carter and Hope stole my company" when you could hire someone from BuyALawyer.com to get that agreement thrown out. -- I've never seen AI look the way it does on Remy's computer.
  22. Ham fisted is right. And when Kai was interviewed and when Trina talked to Kai after the game, why did production lay an audio track under it that was of a game in progress? Don't get me started on Trina having no clue about what a bowl game is. Agree completely. Honestly, I was struck by the LOADS of hypocrisy in that room. Yes, The video was bad, but just about everyone in that room was guilty of something as bad -- or worse. I mean, come on. And miss me with Joss and Trina stepping out of the room, as if it would be harmful for them to hear what happened. Yeah, I know Joss had to jet to the hospital and Trina to the stadium, buT still. Dex's death was a surprise, and everyone does deserve applause for keeping that quiet. I guess we should have realized he was in deep trouble when we got romantic and sex scenes between Joss and Dex this week after seeing nothing for months. Typical bad soap writing. Why Elizabeth is permitted ANYWHERE near Dex is a mystery considering what happened with Sam.
  23. Imagine turning Kristina into this cauldron of bitterness and hate while trying desperately to redeem Natalia and pimp her as some sweet soul "deep down inside." And imagine part of that pimping being Natalia talk about how good Sonny is with his kids.
  24. Exactly -- especially since Ric was notified while sitting at the same table just a minute after her card was declined. The sad thing is that "No one's thinking this through" can't even be used as a defense or explanation. They just don't care about viewers. It's a lack of respect and the feeling that we'll put up with anything. I guess that's partly true.
