Jesus, I love your post. Van Hansis was SO over-the-top that I was laughing out loud. That could not have been any worse 😂🤣😂 And sorry, the "grief comes in waves" reasoning doesn't work for me, at least not in this case. My Lord. Laura has been a terrible mayor since the day she entered office. She's complicit in more wrongdoing than any mobster in town.

Completely agree. And I support everything you said in those posts and in this one. I feel like a broken record, but I think it's important to call this out. Maybe someone from the show will see it if enough viewers are unhappy with this doubling down. I've said it before, but I'm white and this makes me angry as hell. I cannot imagine how this is seen and heard by people of color. I nitpick, I know, but this is not nitpicking. The white savior who is also the devil is NOT what I want to see on this show. Agree wirh all of that, too. I don't find anything positive about Vanessa. Not a thing.

-- Listening to Joey the Mobster rail against plastic surgery and doctors in general made me a Carlton fan for the first time. That whole rant was out of the blue ridiculous. Did he have liposuction that went bad? -- Vanessa was so torn up over her meeting with Deanna that she dressed up like a whore for her Uptown date with Joey. -- Vanessa, NO ONE buys your sadness over Doug's death or your story about when you started banging Joey. You can add all the hitches in your voice that you like -- no one believes you. -- Glad to see Naomi put her foot on Hayley's neck. I hope it stays there. We've had months of Naomi being cordial and even friendly to Hayley, and it never made any sense. -- I want the old Shanice back. I don't like all this self-doubt, and I don't like all this Nicole praise from her that makes her seem like an inferior replacement. If Shanice has been cheated on multiple times in the past, I don't want her to play victim here. -- And Shanice, Ted did not tell you he loved you.

My MAGA reference was inelegant, I admit. I could have made the same point without mentioning MAGA, but I was not trying to inject politics here. GMAB with that. Keeping the Duprees and the Dupree-adjacent clean? Sorry, this is a soap opera. Keeping 90% of the characters clean is a terrible idea. It's an even worse Idea when the white guy is pictured as the savior, and I don't see any winning about it. Thank you. That's exactly how I feel. The writing works overtime to keep this BTG core family clean, and the messiness we do get is so minor it's cleared up immediately. And again, I am disgusted that Joey of all people is painted as the guy who cleans up so much mess and who has so much power. I think this is an incredibly wrong and awful move by the show. I am stunned that more people aren't disgusted with Eva's visit to Joey to thank him for essentially saving Izaiah. All of that made me sick. One problem is that the show never credibly explained the chasm between Izaiah and his father. We know they don't get along, but I haven't seen ANY scenes that tell me why this break is so deep. And didn't Izaiah have a mother? And brothers? He had a family around him to "save" him. Instead he needed fcuking Joey Armstrong. A better story would have been that this mobster in the pleather jacket tried to recruit him to the dark side -- and failed.

I know this board in general hates Ryan Paevey, but I have no problem with what you call a lack of nuance. From Day One, many of us suspected Paevey wasn't playing Nathan -- because we've all watched soaps since forever. So while "we knew" it wasn't Nathan, we really didn't KNOW it wasn't Nathan until yesterday. Why give that up sooner with nuance? I don't see any reason to do that. We got writing clues, and many people caught them, again because we've all watched soaps since forever. Ryan Paevey isn't a great actor, but this role doesn't require that. I personally think he's a great soap hunk who's good in the role. Am I partial to him because he's great eye candy? DUH. I have a hard time criticizing Paevey's acting when there's worse all over the canvas. As has been pointed out, Carlo Rota is all over the place. Sometimes he's good, but he's also an outrageous scene-chewer. Now he's underplaying his own son's death. Van Hansis is now playing Marco's death like it's just another day at Port Charles -- and is incredibly bad at playing a doctor. So yeah, I'm OK with Ryan Paevey.

What's with Eva glazing Joey over Izaiah -- giving him credit for saving him while she disses Izaiah's family at the same time? I just can't with this show giving flowers to the White Man who saves everyone and also runs the town. Has MAGA infiltrated this writing staff? That entire conversation made me sick.

If we got one, I missed it. It's typical Josh Griffith writing. No thought or effort put into anything. Again, I don't think we'll get any explanation. We might get a "Victor was behind it all," as if that's good soap. -- More bad writing? Victoria's visit to Summer. Summer's letter to Phyllis. I mean who the fcuk cares??? This offscreen stuff is disgusting. -- And Phyllis says everything she does is with her kids in mind? Are you kidding me? And she doesn't understand why they have "vitriol" towards her? -- More "I DON'T CARE": Mariah and Tessa. Mariah going away again. They can't even show the kid they're supposed to be raising. Complete suckage.

-- Overall, I was bored today. -- It's fine to have a Dani/Andre catch-up scene, but that went on too long, and the story had me yawning. -- Bill is all over the place. He's tough and strong and smart, yet he's clueless when it comes to Hayley. He can be soft and compassionate, yet he threatens Kat with "You best not be insulting my wife." -- Worst of all, Bill can perform miracles all over town, but he needs White Man Golden Corral Casino Mobster Joey to investigate Lynette??? Make it make sense. -- This show keeps trying to explain and explain away Vanessa's marriage to Doug, but it is not working. There is NOTHING about her that says "Stay At Home Mom Whose Kids Are #1." I hope Deanna continues to treat her like the trash she is. Meanwhile, Donnell is clueless. -- I still say Lauren Buglioli is bad with the emotional scenes. She comes off like a Real Housewife faking some tears. -- I do not like hearing Shanice continually put herself down compared to Nicole. This has now happened multiple times, and it's sickening. -- I do not buy Ted being in love already.

There's no way that Peaches actress should ever have been cast. It has to be a favor to a friend. And not recasting Tomas or ending the character is another awful mistake. I just don't get it.

I think that technique and formula was clear in the Smitty and Martin family scenes today. Everything about the dialogue was stilted and awkward, and it wasn't authentic.

-- Imagine wasting an actor like Rory Gibson not only on Jacinda, but throwing in Kristina, too. Ugh. -- The "Jacinda is a hooker" scenes with Wiley were as awful as everyone says they were. Just tell the kid he shouldn't be listening to adults argue lol -- Today's show was meh on every respect. -- I'm so over Brennan, and ready for him to go asap. And GMAB with Carly yelling. -- The bridge scenes with Danny, Rocco, and Charlotte were decent. So were the Cody and Molly scenes. -- Lucas's grief is not what I expected, and I'm blaming Van Hansis for this. I expected to see a much sadder and emotional Lucas, and he's been disappointing from the moment he found out Marco was killed. I'm not seeing or feeling the pain at all.

😂 Believe me, no one misses that Joshua Hoffman booty and body more than I do. A lot of people criticized his acting, but honestly, the role never requires much, and I liked looking at him in the tight slacks and tight shirts. I didn't want a recast, but I am OK with Brayan Nicoletti. I guess I'm defensive about him because Reddit has been so hard on his looks -- comments from people who will wait forever for their own covers of Vogue and GQ. I personally like his exotic looks, and his body is fire.

BTG: March 2026 Discussion Thread
-- Lynette is a good new character, and I want her to make Hayley miserable. -- I still love me some Kat. I love the way she gets messy with other people. -- Tomas is a complete nerve tap, but I find myself siding with him when Hayley starts with her lies. Bill comes off like a buffoon for believing her and for believing in her. -- Naomi is ridiculous. Between her constant calls to Jacob and Jacob's own stupidity....well, you know. If only Naomi cared about him this much during the show's first year. -- With Ashley's and Grayson's main desk kiss at the hospital, we're still getting ridiculous HR violations at Garland. It's all beyond inappropriate. -- The plasma exchange at Garland is SO absurd that I have no words. On the elevator? On the floor where the main desk is? Where Ashley works? It's all so poorly written. -- The more scenes we get with Jacob, Grayson, and others standing by that brick wall, the more laughable it all becomes. Isn't this why people have burners? They need to move quickly on this storyline, because it's awful. -- The family scenes with Smitty, Martin, Samantha, and Tyrell were cringe, from the pizza night that wasn't to all of them giving up their phones for 45 seconds. Their scenes usually play better than this, so I have to blame the script. None of it felt real. -- And just why is Smitty always on his phone anyway? Makes no sense.

I agree with Vee, too. The exposition is especially bad with the Duprees and all the "We are the Duprees and the Duprees always rise above and shine" stuff. It's leaden dialogue that's eye-rolling. I want to like and love this family, not think about how sanctimonious they are. Also, we need more friction and conflict among the Duprees and their relatives. For a soap, they all get along much too well. Dani? Much calmer and reasonable than early on. Kat? I appreciate her not (unfairly) being the black sheep, but now she's calmer and reasonable. Martin? The political worries aren't there. Bill? Brought back in to the family to do the estate planning. Andre? No mention of what he's been hiding for months. Smitty? Sorry, but I don't feel as if he's in any danger. With so many characters being Duprees or Dupree-adjacent, we need more drama within that group. Naomi hiding that she carries the BRCA gene ain't it, and neither is Chelsea getting married in a year.

I know you had much more to say and explain in your post, but if that is a good analysis of BTG, I don't think it's sustainable long-term. You do say we've ad a lot of revelations in 13 months, but I'd say most of those came in the first few months. We get character and some plot towards something, but then we're left hanging. The show leaves that story for weeks and months at a time. Then we see new characters added before other plotlines are fully developed or resolved. We also get plot build-up -- highly anticipated events like WinterFest -- that pretty much goes nowhere. Some people thought WinterFest was fine and made excuses for it (such as the show not knowing if it would be renewed), but I was really disappointed with what we got. I'm worried that will happen again with the Cotillion. We got build-up with the free clinic, and then never saw it. We got a celebration at Uptown. We get build-up about Leslie's shouse, but I'm unsure we'll ever see it. They're painting the exterior and landscape as so ridiculous that they'll never find an establishing shot to represent it unless they use AI. They're trying to build-up the plasma storyline to amp the danger, but that's not working. So yeah, I love strongly written characters, but I also want more than a sprinkle of plot. I want story and I want movement and resolution.

DAYS: March 2026 Discussion Thread
I thought he was pretty good on DAYS and that there was story for him if they wanted to write it. As others have said, there are many worse actors on this show. Please get rid of Rachel and Sophia asap. The Sophia actress is dreadful -- always has been -- and demon spawn Rachel needs a timeout no matter who's playing her. OTOH, give me more shirtless Liam. Hank Northrop has a much better body underneath those t-shirts than I imagined. Dayum 🔥 DAYS is sad these days, and worth watching only for shirtless guys
