The Danny and Cricket stuff is so good and tugs at my heartstrings. They are my fave Y&R couple and I appreciate that we’re getting an actual story and not some slapdash reunion. I also like that Phyllis’ original psychotic persona has been restored. Stafford is great with the dead eyes and blank expression which make Phyllis look like a total sociopath. Only Kimberlin Brown does it better. I also love that Vail Bloom is back as Heather. She and Chris Engen’s Adam were fire. Wait, what?? Was Raul going to be the 1986 baby??? Ronan?!

Don’t expect too much.

What can you tell me about a character named Cybil Weller? Is she a good candidate for the “Pheila” character from Y&R? In 2006 there was a character on Y&R with Phyllis’ face who claimed to be Sheila. Lauren shot her dead but as she was dying she said, “You shot the wrong one”. The real Sheila showed up in LA in 2017, so who was Pheila? Was Cybil crazy? Could Sheila have convinced her to get plastic surgery to look like Phyllis and go to Genoa City pretending to be Sheila? Could she have acted alone? Thank you in advance for any information you can provide!

I agree with Days having too many new characters. The show is unrecognizable. They need to re-center the show around Marlena and John while also bringing back more fan faves like Eileen, Christie/Patrick, Matt/Missy, Tanya Boyd, Christopher Sean, Patsy/Charles, Lisa, Farah Fath, etc.

This does not look good. Needs more Jarlena. Tate is a tasty little treat, though.

I agree with most of this list. The recast version of Shawn and Belle suck and have always sucked so I’m happy to see them go for the nineteenth time. Victor’s death was handled horribly, from violently killing off an elderly man to the poor list of attendees at the funeral to Xander’s paternity retcon. Don’t even get me started on no JKJ or Staci Greason. Everything else I agree with, especially Dick van Dyke as John’s dad! Next year they need to cast Tippi Hedren as Maude and reveal that she’s Daphne Dimera, thus restoring John’s 2002 parentage (his best one).

The thing that annoys me most is how they pretend Patch and Kayla were around for everything when in reality they were offscreen for 16 years. They weren’t there for the possession, they don’t know Vivian or Susan, they weren’t around for Princess Gina or the Salem Stalker, etc. It’s a shame the show feels the need to lie because the show could get plenty of mileage exploring Patch and Kayla’s lost years, particularly Kayla’s. Imagine if she did something really bad in LA and has been harboring the secret all these years. Patch was only with Ava for about a year before being recaptured so what else was he up to? Days got years of story out of Hope’s missing years. I disagree about Shane and Kim. They’re a supercouple and deserved to be put back together and have their happily ever after. Although not a supercouple, Tony and Anna deserve the same. Now they’re offscreen together and happy. I am always happy when Jack is brought back from the dead but I agree, it’s time to stop doing back from the dead stories for a while. That being said, I’d like them to resurrect Anjelica and Laura. Everyone else can stay dead…well, except maybe Abby and Lawrence. But that’s it! 😆

They are my all-time favorite Y&R couple. I’ve been waiting 30 years for their reunion! It’s just so weird that Josh Griffith is the one writing it. Maria Arena Bell was in the process of reuniting them when she was fired, and one of the first things Griffith did was split up Danny and Cricket and Nina and Paul in favor of putting Cricket with Paul. I’m glad Doug Davidson fell out with the show!

If you’re referring to her political views, she’s no different from Republicans like Lauren Koslow, Drake Hogestyn, and Alison Sweeney. I hope you have the same energy for them as you do for Missy.

As a JnJ fan I’d rather have them offscreen forever than have a recast in the roles for even one minute. What did she say or do? No he wasn’t 😂 You’re not a JnJ shipper so you don’t get it.

No, it’s you. You literally said you used to like Missy. She’s still great as Jennifer. The McClain girl is playing a totally different character. We JnJ fans who have been shipping them for 35 years don’t like her. We didn’t like Mark Valley, Steve Wilder, or Stephanie Cameron either.

Hopefully the Johnsons will be written out in 2024. They haven’t added anything of value to the show since the 80s.

Haha what? Just because you don’t like Missy doesn’t mean she won’t be back. Remember, she reclaimed her role in 2021 and 2022. The only reason that godawful recast returned last year is because Missy didn’t like that Abby was being killed off and said no. She’s a favorite of Ken’s. She’ll be back. BTW, I think it’s important to note that JnJ fans don’t like Cady and don’t want her back. The folks who want Cady never liked Jennifer in the first place! Why should they be rewarded?

I believe Tracey has been on recurring by choice since she returned around 1999-2000 except when she briefly went back on contract in 2013.

Recast Matt Ashford? They tried that before and it didn’t work. Cady is also a failed recast like Haiduk and DePaiva before her.

She was. She debuted later in 1973. I’m in favor of making Marlena’s family the core family as she is the star of the show. I’d like to see John and Marlena move out of that ugly, tiny, cheap-looking townhouse and into the rebuilt Alamain mansion. Noah and Sydney could live with them. I’m not saying get rid of the Hortons or their set. I’d like the current iteration of the Hortons center around Jennifer, Jack, and their kids (if Jennifer is played by Missy, that is. Otherwise I’d like to see the Hortons center around Hope, Bo, and their family). Days could save some extra money if they bumped Rogers to recurring and only showed Doug and Julie at Christmas.

Jack is no more objectionable than EJ or Stefan plus he’s a hell of a lot more popular.
