I’m not kissing up to him. I hate what he did to Marty on OLTL. I happen to think he is the best-possible writer for Days. He brings the kind of storytelling I used to get from my fave, JER. We’d never get my favorite characters back if he left.

They weren’t even really buried, though. They were sealed in a coffin entombed inside a crypt. All I remember is the garishly bright lighting in the coffin scenes.

I guess I’m the only one who still calls Stephen Nichols’ character Patch but that’s what I grew up knowing him as and that was his name in the credits for the entirety of his first run. I loved that Ava called him Patch.

I thought Stefano sent The Pawn to Salem to take over Roman’s life. What does Victor have to do with that? John’s best friend is Abe, not Patch, despite what Fired Guy would have you think.

I’m still surprised that the show has never revisited Aremid. All of JER’s big stories have gotten “sequels” at some point except for Aremid and the Salem Stalker/Melaswen (although that one got a shout-out in one of the Halloween episodes).

The actress who played Sarah was supposed to be in the spinoff. I think many of the ideas for Aremid wound up on Passions which also took place in a small New England town. I think she’s awesome. I just hope she chooses to return for Abby’s eventual resurrection. JnJ fan for 30+ years and I accept no imitations!!

They need to go back to Daphne Dimera being John’s mother which would only require a line of dialogue by revealing that Maude was Daphne.

I have to wonder if The Affair was meant to write Marlena off the show for the spinoff.

All they need to do is say that Maude Robicheaux was really Daphne DiMera and then his perfect origin will be restored along with explaining Stefano’s decision to target John to be his Pawn.

Imagine being stuck with TM’s Carrie on the spinoff. Yuck.

Interesting. I thought she said she was moving to the East Coast.

I’m all for anything that “breaks up” John and Patch. I am so sick of Jarlena being joined at the hip with Payla. I want to see Jarlena with their own family. Ideally John will finally get all of his pre-1986 memories back

I think that one was actually Heart and Soul.

I thought Rena was only back for 30 episodes.

I forgot to add Natalie Zea as Gwen. She was awful and lifeless.

It’s interesting that the working title was Body and Soul. That’s the soap-within-a-soap on the show. Ron knew more than I did on this one!

Except Kirsten didn’t want “Daddy” like Charity did!

Eileen had better be at the top of their list. Matt Ashford, Missy Reeves, Christie Clark, and Patrick Muldoon should be brought back even if only for limited runs.

Let’s hope he takes Tamara with him…and a bunch of others. Imagine if they recast this useless role! lol

I haven’t watched in four years but I may for the Bobbie stuff. Is Genie front and center? I gave up when it became clear the show wasn’t writing for her.

NBC was also developing a Saturday morning spinoff that was tentatively titled Salem High and would have starred the Last Blast Crew. It would have aired alongside a Passions spinoff featuring teaching home ec at Harmony High.

TomSell destroyed Days and the show has never recovered.

I guess calling Ron his GH nickname “the writer” is supposed to be disrespectful but I think it’s just silly. Nothing Ron has done actually warrants all the hate he gets. There are far more destructive writers in daytime: Gary Tomlin, Christopher Whitesell, Dena Higley, Chuck Pratt, Josh Griffith, Megan McTavish, Mal Young, the boys currently writing GH, etc.
