  1. I'm sure his job as a breakdown writer at BTG will pay quite well and without the pressure of being the headwriter. It's got to be a pretty sweet gig, and he can probably do that part of the process in his sleep. I enjoyed many parts of his tenure at DAYS, but it was all the mask wearing, constant Dimeras, the diminishing of the Hortons, the domination of the Leo Stark character, and Abigail's "death" that finally turned me off. I never even made it to what sounds like the Body and Soul fiasco. I did tune in for Doug's funeral episodes and to watch what's left of the Hortons to decorate the tree. MAYBE I'll tune back in once the new writer's material begins to air.
  2. It would have been soooooo much better if they had brought her on as a brand new character without having to deal with the backstory of Taylor.
  3. Oh, wow...I never heard the rumor that JC was considering leaving the show for ATWT. Was there any speculation on what character she would play? It's a shame that Jeanne Cooper was left without much to do for years....
  4. I don't watch GH on a regular basis, but I, too, don't think it's going anywhere anytime soon. It's often in the top 10 on Hulu (which is owned by Disney which owns ABC). So, it's bringing some viewers to the app on a daily basis. We haven't heard anything, but I wonder how Neighbours is doing on Amazon.
  5. Maybe I would care about this story if not within six months... Ridge and Steffy will get the company back. Carter will be "forgiven" and be back to being Ridge's "best friend and part of the family" and barely used. Ridge will bounce back and forth between Brooke and Taylor a few times (again). No one will even remember that ANY OF THIS even happened. This has been a problem with the show for many, many years. There are never any long-term impacts to any of the stories. Instead, everything is "reset" to what it was before with zero character growth...or hell, even acknowledgment that anything happened!
  6. Totally! Why isn't Luna sending HIM letters???
  7. ITA. As usual, so many story beats just skipped over which makes it hard to invest in any storyline. One of things that I often annoys me about the show is that there are no long-term ramifications to anything anymore. You're right that by Spring everyone will have forgotten any of this happened, and Carter will be back to his old job. RJ's disappearance doesn't make any sense, either. He should be torn between the Logan and Forrester sides. Also, I don't believe he EVER had a scene with Luna to confront her about what all she did. I mean...wouldn't the guy be traumatized by all of it???
  8. There would have been SOOO much more potential if they had created a whole new character for her without the baggage of decades of Brooke/Ridge/Taylor. A brand new person vying for Ridge would have been much more interesting.
  9. LSV has been criminally underused for YEARS. His best material was the initial material with the affair with Quinn. Those two had serious chemistry. But, as the show does, they screwed it up. The problem with this story is that it...as most stories on this show...came out of left field with no buildup. When did Carter fall for Hope actually? So many beats were skipped in the story, and now, where do they take Carter from him. A better story IMO would have been if Hope and Carter said screw FC and started their own rival fashion house. The show has been missing that aspect...of having an underdog...since the Spectras died out many years ago.
  10. IMO, I thought Cady knocked it out of the park when she played Jennifer for that stint. It was the first time I felt invested in the character of Jennifer for a very long time. She also gave the role a bit more bite. I was REALLLLLY hoping they would keep her full-time.
  11. After tuning back in after about a year for the Doug episodes, it amazes me how GOOD the show can be when it focuses on actual human emotions and family versus mask wearing, back from the dead, crypto chambers, Dr. Rolf, etc. But, man, Leo...RC just won't give that character up no matter what.
  12. I only tune in sometimes to the show. I find it sooo repetitive, but it's refreshing to see that Liam, the most annoying character ever in B&B history (no fault of the actor who does his best with what he's given), is not dominating every single episode anymore. I'm disappointed with how this show can just not write for minority characters even after promising starts. The actress who played Luna had sooo much potential. It would have been fun for her to develop as a villain BUT not a murderer so she could have been long-term. Does this mean we won't see RJ's biceps anymore, either? Elecktra feels like the biggest YAWN of a character ever. Like...who...care...literally.
  13. ITA. After watching the show for many, many years I stopped about a few months into when it became exclusive on Peacock. I tired of all the sci-fi stories, people wearing masks, constant back from the dead, the total takeover of the show by the Dimera family, and for me, the almost erasure of the Horton family, who I always felt like were the heart of the show. I've tuned in recently just to see the Doug memorial episodes, but I know that a lot of the characters I'm looking forward to seeing won't be around for long (Lucas, Jennifer, Jack, JJ, Eli, Lani).
  14. Just like much on this show, we're told but never shown. How were Carter and Ridge BFF's? What was their connection? It's like when they used to tell Carter he was "family" all the time. LSV is a gorgeous man and has always deserved more than they have given him as Carter. I wish he could have gone to BTG and really been given some worthy material.
  15. I wonder where the hell they could take the character at this point?! I feel like the actress got such a raw deal, too. They should turned Luna into an evil pot stirrer but stop before MURDER. The show DESPERATELY needs a new young vixen. Instead, we get milk toast Elektra. Exciting! Not! Now, we don't even get to see RJ's biceps on the regular as a result.
  16. I was so not a fan of the Katherine/Jill mother/daughter story, BUT I would argue that the undoing of it was somehow actually even worse. By that point, a few years had gone by, and I had sort of gotten used to the new dynamic. ITA that would have been a MUCH better story idea and would have been interesting to explore. The oddest thing was that Carl's "disappearance" never happened onscreen, so it was like...WTH are these people even talking about? Plus, there were zero ramifications from the story. It seemed like that were trying to bring the Williams family back in a greater capacity. Around the same time, Mary gets a hang up call which is implied to be Patty. But, all of it was dropped. The only bright spot was it gave the actress who played Mary to have something meaty to do if only for a little bit.
  17. It's timeslot against Y&R and the constant change or writer and producers pretty much doomed the show, but then again, how many TV shows last 12 years? That in itself was a HUGE accomplishment.
  18. I was somewhat surprised in reading her autobiography that she never once mentioned Loving. I think a few words on why she thought it didn't ultimately have the success as her other two shows would have been very interesting insight.
  19. ITA...And, many people seem to be forgetting that Carlivati is NOT headwriting the show. He's going to be a breakdown writer...a completely different task...of taking the HW's vision and literally "breaking it down" for how it plays out in a specific episode.
  20. Elektra is soooooo boring simply because it's just another flatly written "Forrester" character. There's nothing new here. God forbid the show bring in a Latina character who has to claw her way up Beverly Hills society a la Brooke-ish from the 1980s. The show feels sooo claustrophobic now.
  21. I tuned in for the first time Tuesday in months to see what was going on before the big episode number, and I found that people are STILL talking about who is going to work at which company. Why do the writers. producers, CBS think their audience cares about these constant "business stories?"
  22. I still think CBS should have given the show the slot right about Y&R and bumped The Bland & the Boring to the 1:30 slot. That would have sandwiched the show right between their two current soaps, and the lead in from Y&R would help. I feel like B&B isn't even trying anymore, and they definitely refuse to tell 2024 appropriate storylines. Instead, let's just do Ridge/Brooke/Taylor for the millionth time and bring in another bland Forrester character. Little, if any, diversity and no forward-thinking stories.
  23. Has anyone heard of any reported updates about this?
  24. I've only just started sort watching the show for the first time the past few weeks since I wanted to see Van Hansis as Lucas, and I grew tired of Y&R and B&B and stopped watching both of them. Of course, I was aware of some of the characters and had some vague ideas of the stories just from reading about the soaps. So as a newbie viewer...Liz and the actress that plays her is definitely a stand out. She lights up the screen and seems to be that classic good girl heroine we can root for. I also enjoy the guy who plays Brad even though I still don't understand what's up with Whitney from Passions changing test results and why. I loved Kate Mansi on DAYS, and I liked the fact that I heard her character was bi. But, now it looks like they may be dropping that part??? At least the show has some LGBT presence unlike B&B which is set in the fashion world and in LOS ANGELES but not one LGBT character. On the downside, I just don't get the appeal of the Sonny character. How did he grow into such a huge part of the show? Just my hot take as a new viewer.
