  1. Taylor's scenes with Thomas have been so awkward. The helicopter mom showing up with her son for his job *interview* were strange. Her cheerleading and pleading his case to Steffy/Brooke/Hope - strange.

Sitting in/participating in Thomas' therapy session is further evidence why Taylor should've had her license revoked years ago. Thomas is creepy enough, but now that creepiness is spreading to Taylor.

Certainly Taylor can be used in other ways: visiting Bill; developing a friendship with Deacon.

  2. Perhaps they will have a RJ v Zende rivalry thrown in.

Maybe they can de-age Mary from the disaster *Erica* storyline. Mary is close enough to be age appropriate since on-screen birth dates don't matter. Mary/RJ not only causes predictable conflict with Logan/Forresters, it also introduces Finn to one of his *many* Sheila siblings.

  3. @Fevuh B&B's writing is completely illogical. Sheila doing a 180 on $Bill is simply Brad's way of wrapping this story ASAP. This follows the quick change with $Bill being assertive/DD returning to normal speaking voice.

Considering Deacon's *grand opening* has been mentioned several times - even though the restaurant is open under Deacon's management - it's probably where $Bill turns on Sheila.

Sheila being Mrs. $Bill Spencer trying to make amends while also relishing in the fact that she's back in Bel Air society. $Bill/Sheila blackmailing/manipulating rich folks to get on boards, charities, etc. Stories like that would've been far more interesting to watch than what will probably get - Bill/Katie reunion.

  4. Hope to Liam: 'Mom needs to be with someone she knows'

Liam rules out Deacon, Ridge, Bill.

Hope wonders who else knows/understands Brooke.

Brooke: 'I need to be with someone I know.'

B&B never drops accidentally hints. I suppose they really are going to go there with LIam when Hope has a meltdown over Douglas or something weird with Thomas or Hollis goes crazy and Liam saves Brooke, etc.

Brooke has climbed the Forrester and Marone trees, I guess the Spencer tree is inevitable.

If they are preparing for a strike, there’s a chance Michael Conforti wasn’t fired because he went Fi-Core in 2007.   I don’t think Beall went Fi-Core so if she doesn’t again this time, maybe there’s a workaround because she’s a Producer now.

@Toups Isn't it odd that Deadline, THR, Variety haven't covered this story? It's highly unusual for Deadline to skip out on this type of story considering the amount of content they generate daily, including big stretches to cover '45' for clickbait! LOL It makes me wonder why those outlets are silent.

WGA negotiations officially start in 3 weeks (March 20). I wonder if this was a ploy by Sony to hire Fi-Core writers in the event of a strike.

  6. @Noel@dragonflies I thought the exact same thing. The last scene Tuesday had Taylor pleading with her kids because their family is on the verge of imploding, the next time we see Taylor, she's more concerned about filling Brooke's *open heart* with pizza sticks.

The Brooke/Taylor relationship is so utterly creepy. Way too much, too fast and I simply can't buy it. Sheila/Bill is more believable and that's saying something.

  7. I'm not defending or accusing anyone because we aren't privy to who ultimately makes these decisions. However, these cuts are happening industrywide.  Just yesterday, Deadline reported that SWAT and Blue Bloods renewals weren't announced because CBS has requested major budget cuts.

Have y'all seen how many shows have been cancelled on streaming services during the past six months?

The fact is that the four soaps produce a total of 1000 episodes annually, which ain't cheap.

The threat of the writer's strike is also driving a lot of decisions. The networks renewed most of their shows early so that the writers' rooms could open and crank out enough scripts to cover the start of the next season. This is also the reason why few pilots have been greenlit because they will be crushed when the strike hits.

    It's not just Y&R.

  8. @Faulkner What's crazy is that Y&R updates the opening sequence almost every episode, which is why we see JW, ED, CG, EH featured only the episodes they appear.

I suppose spending a few thousand dollars on a photo shoots probably does matter these days.

Y&R is an incredibly vet heavy cast. People whined about newbies over vets, but those newbies help make shows profitable. It's not called show *business* for nothing.

Today's show was a letdown. How does Steffy let Douglas go with Hope? And the judge just takes off?😂  Steffy lost points with me today.

Steffy's was somehow appointed legal guardian, but not listed in any of the documents. The judge's 'I've got a full docket, bye!' was shockingly poor writing for B&B.

  10. Despite the out-of-the-blue hearing, the Douglas choosing Steffy is a great twist to the whole Thomas/Hope custody drama. Of course, for the next xxx weeks/months, Hope/Thomas will be pleading their case to Steffy with multiple variations of the same dialogue:

Thomas: 'He's my flesh and blood.' 'I'm his father.' 'He's my son.'

Hope: "Liam and I have given Douglas a real home.' 'I'm the only mother he's ever known' 'Stability, stability, stability!'

  11. B&B *logic*

    1. Taylor in danger because Sheila is free. Um, actually Taylor is the safest because she's the leverage!

    2. Custody hearing the next day, but Hope isn't notified until the night before by the other party. We know they had to rush it because there's literally no other stories beyond Sheila, but you go from Thomas begging for his job and playing nice on Tuesday to handing custody papers Thursday.

    3. The Brooke/Taylor stuff is hokey. Was it this bad when Stephanie/Brooke became friends? These women demeaned themselves for 30 years for the same man - fights, schemes, lies, etc. And why would Ridge return to Brooke's house? Shouldn't he be living at Eric's? They were already dropping seeds that it'll be *destiny* as usual once TK returns.

  12. B&B somehow found gold with Katie/Sheila. As far as Katie's heart, remember Katie's out-of-the-blue check-up with Paris' mother before Christmas? Grace was shocked Carter was there for Katie. As we know, Grace was pushing Paris/Carter big time. Knowing B&B, those supposedly random scenes aren't really random. Grace/Sheila future allies? Might be interesting.

Yes, these are strange times with Bill/Sheila, but nothing is odder than Taylor/Brooke. I suppose the latter is easier to accept because it's KA as Taylor so it's feels like a new character.

SK makes you want to root for Deacon/Sheila.

lol I said on twitter HT might as well acting against a mannequin cause she's getting literally nothing

Spot on! Man, Monday's scenes were the same. What I will restate: HT is a master. Taking horrific, wordy, nonsensical dialogue and turning into something *and* with waterworks! I just wish Katie wasn't such a blah character.

Imagine what HT could've done on Y&R instead of her 15 years on B&B ...

  14. It would've worked better if Deacon and Sheila plotted to trick Bill. I was sold on the Deacon/Sheila connection and SK/KB are great scene partners

    B&B's only other barely stories:

    - Thomas getting his job back

    - Almost overnight in B&B time, Paris forgot about Zende  and invited Thomas to move in

    - Brooke/Taylor's weird friendship

    - Ridge *finding* himself

    - Carter going shirtless.

I can't ever recall the show having so little going on. Take away Sheila/Bill and, you have the above *no* stories and no stories in the pipeline either. At a minimum, start putting some stress on Finn/Steffy after the Bill fling reveal.

I don't get how B&B could be this poorly managed.

  15. @Taoboi Isn't this *magical* unseen connection tactic exactly the same as Eric/Quinn and Quinn/Carter?

They've reused the Eric/Quinn dialogue/scenes with everyone in town warning Eric that Quinn was *toxic* except the special word is *dangerous* - I think there was one episode where Steffy used the word *toxic* at least 5 times when talking about Quinn and Grandad.

I actually like that B&B sometimes just jumps into a new story to reset the show. However, when Sheila appeared at Deacon's months ago, she did say she access to resources. It seems Brad did have this story brewing at that point.

But like you and others have said, why can't they show us in a flashback the beach scene? Unless, of course, that beach scene played out very differently than the way Bill/Shelia have shared.
