  1. I prefer to be optimistic. The fact that NBC is considering giving back the 10E/9C slot back to affiliates is further evidence the company has significant issues. Could this have been planned better? Of course, but NBC seems to be scrambling generally. The good news about streaming is that folks who wait to get on-board weeks or months from now, will be able to catch up on the post-NBC episodes. Honestly, I've been bingeing 3-4 months at a time for the past 3 years. I find it so much more enjoyable because I can FF through a lot of stuff. Streaming actually got me back to watching DAYS. I was a lapsed viewer for longer than I'll ever admit. I'm sure I'm not alone.
  2. Quinn is simply not a character worth recasting. She's been removed from Eric's life, WyNoT doesn't need her, her besties are gone and Carter has plenty of other potential love interests. Carter or WyNot will simply remark that Quinn had to go to FC Europe office to launch something and that's that.
  3. Is that really a surprise? I mean how did Jackie and Nick get sent off? Didn't they kind of disappear or at least it seemed that way.
  4. Great news. MM sounded so relaxed and happy in that interview. So Amanda's vacation was really MM's vacation. Glad she's back filming.
  5. The Nicholas/Spencer scenes were great on both days. MC isn't terrible, but when he's opposite MW, CS and NC, he's just over-matched. I know it was a set-up to add more suspects to Ava's attack, but Nicholas telling Victor that Ava planned the Esme reveal was simply poor writing. C'mon Nicholas man-up!
  6. Wow. Not that surprised. They attempted this years ago with the Tonight Show 5 days a week - it was a huge flop. Right now, there's not much on at 10 p.m. L&O and last half season of NA.
  7. @Tonksadora @Vee Oh, I love the Hayes' - the are icons! I'm certain NBC/Peacock will turn on the promo right after Labor Day - the week before the move. Obviously, today's announcement was a big step for Peacock overall. It's also the first real notification that a lot of viewers will get that The Chicagos and L&Os will no longer stream on Hulu. Peacock has a fairly new president so that's why a lot of these changes are happening. She was interviewed by Deadline this morning. (Peacock President Kelly Campbell On Reclaiming Next-Day Premieres From Hulu, Doubling Content Spend And Spurring “Next Evolution Of Growth) - no link since I don't want to violate any copyright rules. Peacock is desperately trying to get a foothold in the market. Fans shouldn't assume DAYS is being singled out. There's a lot of unhappy Hulu subscribers. NBC/Universal still owns a share of Hulu, but they are suddenly moving that content to Peacock. It's all business.
  8. Or $19.99 for 12 months, which will cover DAYS *final* season (hopefully not). Considering what other streaming services are charging, that's a great deal. 80% of homes subscribe to at least 1 streaming service. All these people complaining that they don't know how to use streaming - well, they sure know how to use the internet to post on boards. That's what makes the whole Doug & Julie showing how to stream a bit ridiculous. Millions of older Americans already use streaming regularly. And the ones that are 65+ have never mattered financially to the networks aka advertising so losing them is really losing nothing. However, gaining a few subscriptions from older folks is $$$. Is this great? No. It's not much different than when the NCAA Football Championship is shown on ESPN.
  9. @MichaelRight with you - Li seems like the obvious choice for Abby's *murder* - he's the bad guy with the Stefan story. Li isn't any character's endgame. I'm sure he'll vanish as soon as it's revealed since he has 'resources.' Anyway, if it ends up being someone else, they'll be free as soon as Abby returns.
  10. I thought it was Chelsea that claimed Billy raped her, which was part of the con. She later admitted on tape that it was a consensual encounter. Billy was a heavy drinker, I don't recall anything about Chelsea needing to drug him - he was pretty good at that himself! The whole story was a bit disjointed because Chelsea disappeared for a few months only to show up on Billy's doorstep pregnant.
  11. @janea4oldThanks for posting MM's interview! Y&R promoting the interview is definitely a positive sign. Let's hope for the best.
  12. Has her departure been confirmed? Except for a couple of articles noting her credit removal, there's literally nothing about her leaving Y&R. Certainly the first Black woman to win the lead actress Emmy leaving would've been noteworthy, especially with the RS and KT departure stories that went beyond the soap press. I'm hopeful they are still in negotiations.
  13. Quinn has to die suddenly since LSV is staying. Drunk Quinn falls off a pier where $B found Li.
  14. Ha. I'm well aware of SheDevil's sins. Actually, I'd say it's Brad's fault that she hasn't evolved. It's always extreme and it doesn't have to be. For example, instead of putting Sheila and Steffy at odds over the Brooke's spiked drink, they should've been allies! Steffy wants nothing more than her parents reunited and Sheila's trick paved the way. After all, the *real* Steffy tried to blackmail Brooke and Oliver, so it's not a leap. The fact the Sheila is even a viable character is strictly due to KB's portrayal.
  15. Well over 80% of homes used a streaming service. For the time being Xfinity customers can access Peacock. So with paid subscribers and Xfinity - it's roughly 30MM homes that have access. Comcast already has a ton of streaming data for DAYS, the 2 BS weeks, 1 Xmas special. For example, they know whether there's been upticks when DAYS was pre-empted nationally and only available on streaming, which episodes are the most popular, which parts (characters), people FF, etc. This isn't some blind or random decision. I'm assuming the big promo push will happen right after Labor Day (the week before the shift). Too much promo now would get lost in the clutter. The beauty of the streaming platform - if diehard DAYS fans don't get the message for a week or a month, etc., if they do get Peacock, they'll be able to catch up since all those episodes will be available. Is this great for everybody? No. But it's not call show *business* for nothing. Programs get cancelled all the time. DAYS has a lifeline so I'd prefer to be optimistic. Frankly, if they moved to a model with 3 weekly episodes that eliminated redundancy and made for tighter stories, I'd be happy with that.
  16. What's perplexing is why B&B is painting Sheila into a corner. Taylor got a pass for shooting $B, Quinn and Thomas committed many crimes, etc. It'd be more logical for Sheila to get off on a legal technicality than this new direction. What's the real endgame here? I mean, really, soaps are populated with characters that have committed far worse crimes and continue to roam freely. B&B needs a baddy to stir things up. Thomas ain't up to it. Steffy has been declawed. Deacon has been neutered. If Jennifer Gareis was playing Grace (Y&R), instead of dumb blonde-Donna, she could do it. $B is pretty isolated at the moment.
  17. @dragonflies @janea4old Thanks for sharing the IG video. That's pretty incredible. Y'all know KB is 61 years old. Her *new* character sure doesn't look it.
  18. Based on the casting news, it appears B&B films 3ish weeks ahead of air date. That's tighter than I thought. In many cases that's worked to B&B's advantage because they can quickly ditch things that aren't working or pounce on something that unexpectedly does. The custody battle was a strange choice after the Finn drama. I mean it's kinda hard to really care about Hope losing Douglas considering she's not related to him. It may have worked better if Thomas was in a serious relationship and then wanted to do it. Of course, that may be the underlying angle for Thomas/Hope.
  19. I think PC's 13-week chapters is a soap format that could work now. I always wondered if PC had been slotted before GH instead of AMC, if it would've lasted longer.
  20. I seriously doubt RS would move from a 'prime' position at B&B to a much lesser one at GH. That's illogical. If she wanted to work less, B&B certainly could've worked with that. Several B&B actors have taken big breaks. Just not happening.
  21. Deacon: "Why did I drink?????
  22. I was wondering why Quinn was kinda in the background for so long and then boom Honey Bear! The affair reveal was super quick and so was Carter's wedding. They definitely knew they needed to split Eric/Quinn and reunite Quarter. Hopefully, they'll just send Quinn to Europe and not *kill* her off only to bring her back in a year. RS really gave B&B some energy. I'm disappointed, but it was her choice, so I wish her well.
  23. Oh, I wasn't really watching closely enough during that 'transition.' I suppose they followed the Josh Taylor (Chris/Roman) template. Same as GH's with the multiple characters played by former OLTLers. It's funny that Stefan/Jake had to be unknown twins when Jake could've just been some other random character. Odd how that duel casting thing works.
  24. At least they acknowledged Bonnie/Adrienne looking alike *and* that's with JE playing those roles! Even she could only do so much to try to distinguish them - Adrienne was simply 'softer' and Bonnie is just 'brash.' Honestly, those would shades of a single well-form character. Keeping RSW is far beyond one or two people. Actors can get cut at various points during their contract. If he had a minimum guarantee, they would've slotted him to burn through those. If he was problematic behind the scenes, he wouldn't be there. I'm far from a Stan, but, unlike other, RSW does try.
