B&B October 2022 Discussion Thread
I stand by my earlier theory BLame coupling with some new twists: Hope is tricking Thomas. Liam secretly sees Hope hold hands with Thomas or kisses him on cheek, which *is* cheating on B&B. Liam gets drunk. Meanwhile, Brooke is babysitting at Steffy's. Brooke, frustrated that all the dark haired women (Taylor, Li) are getting her men, tries on a hideous wig Taylor left behind at Steffy's. Brooke falls asleep on the couch. Drunk Liam lets himself into Steffy's. The rest is a blameless Brooke scandal.

Changes coming to the SON Community
@BoldRestless Thanks for the tutorial! After all these years, I had no idea that was an option. And, done. The bottom line is that we're all here for the same reason - why love soaps and like to share the experience with other fans. OK, sometimes we hate-watch, but that's a different kind of love.

Changes coming to the SON Community
1. I'm on multiple boards with only 'Like' buttons. It actually helps keep down thread size because you don't have multiple people quoting/repeating exactly the same thing. Every board I'm on eliminated the 'dislike' button years ago. 2. Reducing or eliminating footer pics. Some are just far too large, irrelevant and distracting to the conversation. This is the only board I'm on that permits pics in member footer. Pics are only permitted in your profile avatar.

B&B October 2022 Discussion Thread
Exactly. So what's the point? To trick his father to return to Taylor? As if Ridge/Brooke don't implode regularly. I simply don't get the rationale of damaging Thomas - a character that few in the audience even care about. I suppose it'll give Brooke someone to blame when she opens her heart to $B or Liam. B&B is always shaky when it comes to storytelling, but this is really bad.

A better twist - Douglas made the recording with Thomas protecting him.

DAYS: October 2022 Discussion Thread ⌛
When the inevitable judging of the consensual trio emerges, I hope Dr. Marlena Evans steps in to shut it down. As a couple A&C discussed it before deciding it was right for them. Alex is single and chose them. There is absolutely nothing seedy or wrong with this. It's not like, say, a married woman cheats with her ex on a conference room table only to get caught by the daughter she shares with her husband. There's a lot of glass houses in Salem. Just sayin'

B&B October 2022 Discussion Thread
Hope playing Thomas leads to another faux compromising scene that Liam the Genius misinterprets, which results in the scandal that's *destined* to happen. Hope: I did it for Douglas! Liam: I'm *related* to Douglas, you're not. Your obsession with my nephew is really about your repressed feelings for Thomas. Getting our daughter back and marrying me should've been more than enough. Ask yourself, why it isn't? Bye!

B&B October 2022 Discussion Thread
Brooke should've slammed the door in Ridge's face when he returned from Paris after dumping her on their honeymoon. That's not destiny, it's pathetic. What makes this harder to take is that I've never felt destiny between TK + KKL (as Ridge/Brooke). It feels forced. If TK was a new character, perhaps, because I like him as an actor. RM+KKL milked this drama for 25 years. When he left, it should've been the end of destiny and a fresh start - even with a recast Ridge. The only other soap couple has run this 30+ years merry-go-round is Victor/Nikki on Y&R. The only reason that worked was because it was the same actors.

GH: Bold and Beautiful actress joins the show in "mystery role"
Not really a 'loss' from what I could find she had *no* episodes in '20; 4 in '21 and 1 episode in '22. Truthfully, the character stopped being, um, relative when SF retired. Aunt Pam could've been a surrogate mother for Stephanie's children, but they never went that way. I'm glad she's working again - it sounds like it's been quite awful for her. And Esme's nanny was first thing I thought of when I saw it was AM.

ARTICLE: ‘NBC News Daily’ Gains in Viewers Again, Narrows Gap with ‘the Talk’ by Less Than 50,000
Since a soap won't replace TT, there must be a classic game show they could acquire or revive because CBS isn't giving back that hour. I always thought DAYS with slight modifications to fit more like a CBS soap could've worked out of B&B. That ship has sailed.

The fact viewers 'found' NND with little fanfare and has nearly caught TT, shows how TT incredible weakness. It's the dog of CBS lineup.

Is it possible Hope is playing Thomas? If not, it would be an illogical + bizarre turn for Hope.

DAYS: October 2022 Discussion Thread ⌛
Or heteroflexible characters. Chanel was a groundbreaking character for DAYS. Adding more pan characters is the way to go. Nothing says that Sonny or Will can't connect with a woman either. Perhaps the Peacock move will allow DAYS to be more adventurous with couplings.

DAYS: October 2022 Discussion Thread ⌛
I can't imagine *anyone* in the audience wants Leo involved with Sonny. I hope they've read the room. Leo in small celibate doses - kinda a modern day Calliope - is totally fine. Characters like Leo provide much needed relief when the drama gets too depressing (or repetitive). WilSon cheating multiple times converts them into a regular soap couple. I mean, how many times have Lucas, Sami, Justin, Adrienne, Kate, Marlena, Roman, etc. strayed when they were in committed relationships?

DAYS: October 2022 Discussion Thread ⌛
The separation opens the door for Sonny using his apps freely. Will/Sonny separation should be treated equally aka Nicole/Eric. Will + Sonny should be hitting the together, cheat, makeup, cheat, counsel just like every couple on daytime.

Y&R actress clarifies status (update page 5)
MM made the decision almost a year ago. I'm sure she realized that she only has a limited window to pursue film/prime TV or a streaming series. Age matters in the business. If she was truly angry with Y&R, she'd skip the recurring and make a clean break. I only wish her the best.

Bold Promo: Thomas V Brooke
Wow. I missed that scene. ITA - AG & KKL looked good. Major props to KKL in that scene. Her facial reactions are simply perfect. Honestly, I think the only way Thomas will be viable as a male lead is a several month rest with a recast. It's not MA's fault, but there's just too many awful scenes with him that can't be separated from the actor. The irony being is that he played them so well.

Bold Promo: Thomas V Brooke
Didn't Thomas have the hots for Brooke like 10 years ago? Like he kissed her or something? Remember on B&B a 'kiss' is positively *scandalous* and the ultimate *betrayal*....

YR: 50th Anniversary Promo
It's a 20 second clip. I'm sure they'll have others. Incorporating old clips of current canvas characters has to be a big part of the promo. We'll see more with some other off-canvas characters. I suspect we saw Shemar because he will return for at least one episode during the 50th. Unlike so many other 'stars' who ignore their soap roots, SM appreciates what Y&R did for him. Just like Julianne Moore asking to be on ATWT final season. @dio I really do hope that VR returns in some capacity even if it's a one-off cameo - Lily dreams about her mother.

B&B September 2022 Discussion Thread
Wouldn't Bill SR original reasons for disliking Brooke revolve around Caroline? Except by 1992, Caroline had died and Brooke helped Caroline during the last months. It seems SR would be grateful - as much as he could be - for Brooke being there for his beloved daughter. The narrative doesn't make a lot of sense based on what actually happened and how rarely SR + Brooke crossed paths.

B&B September 2022 Discussion Thread
Perfect example of B&B plot device: 'Of course, I didn't call Widge back after Steffy hung up on me. He came in late when I was asleep and left early this morning before I was awake. ' Either Brooke is drinking or taking massive sleeping pills! After Steffy hijacked Ridge's phone, do we really believe Brooke wouldn't be sitting on the couch waiting for him to walk through that door? Or if she went to bed, she'd definitely confront him when he walked in. C'mon. This is just lazy for an already intolerable storyline.

This pleases me to no end. Further proof that viewers made a conscious decision to watch Days. Fortunately, the show is still around.
