I recently picked up my 1981 run. Needed a Break cause of work and Life. october 1981 is completely finished by me: After the ice Princess Story the writers seemed Not to know what to do with LnL and Robert and Tiffany. They reeeeeeaaaaaaallx streeeeetched out the damn wedding stuff that it became tiresome Heather‘s Story wasn’t progressing much either but at least we got a few Heather vs Anne scenes. There should’ve been more of that during the entire time man. And Anne was a bit backburned this month so I didn’t mind her scenes. I’m known as one of the biggest Anne Hater around lol I still don’t know what Jeff actually saw in her. Must’ve been cause she a Virgin. Otherwise I can’t explain that. Bobbie/Noah bored the hell out of me! But now to the Great things: The Quartermaines and especially Lila got more screentime again! Gosh I love that Old Lady Lila so much. That she even put edward in her Place was hilarious. The Twist with Alexandria giving Lila more Control at the Company was amazing. Lila was involved with so many different people in this month and I enjoyed it. Monica/Alan‘s Divorce Battle is heating up again! Finally! But the writers seemed to have given up on Susan/Alan already. Their mood seemed to Switch from happy to Moody and bored. Susan is trying Everything but alan seemed not really into it anymore. Can’t wait to see where This is going! ALL Q scenes keep me entertained and we got Robert/Luke - bromance Moments! They feel so Natural. One of my Favorite Moments was Scotty‘s signed Divorce papers arrived and Lee lost it and burned them! I Wonder why they Never gave Lee more Material Like That.

I really want to get back into the Show but struggle with a starting point. What year should I start with?

I would say EastEnders ! We made so much fun of that Show cause it was the Most Depression piece of Drama on the Air. But ever since late 00‘s it’s tough. They are all equality as miserable. Lol But I would say Coronation Street and Emmerdale are tied for it tbh

Guido Broscheit‘s best character was on the German Daily „Rote Rosen“ as Falk. Great to see him on another soap

To think that a few years back April went through a whole bullying plot. lol I like that they give her a lot to do but there is no character development

Wow. I took a bit of a soap opera break cause of work and wasn’t as online here but I wanted to thank u for this. Wow.

I know I’m maybe too young and people hated the Mob years of GH but I have to say they gave us one of the best written stories there! the Metro court hostage was epic from start to finish and was a real masterpiece. I mean I hated that we lost Stuart Damon/Alan Quartermaine but at least he went out with a bang and didn’t had to witness the Ron/Frank years with his character lol They would’ve ruined Alan. B&B: Taylor’s return from the dead in 1994! I was crushed as a little boy when my beautiful favorite Taylor died and was so stunned and in shock when she was revealed to be alive as Princess! Gosh that was my favorite time and kept me on the edge of my seat. Of course some would say it didn’t aged well and was cheesy and cringe but for me I will always love that era.

I came in late to atwt. When I was a kid my mom watched it mid 90’s and that Mark Kasnoff dude was my kryptonite! I said that a million times here but I hated him. Not in a haha- love to hate kinda way like we hated Carly sometimes. But everytime he popped on screen I got angry for some reason and his story with Connor was draining me as a child. Lol I don’t mean any offense to the actor Alexander Walter but his run was really making me angry lol i took a break and came back early 00’s with the younger crowd like Maddie, Henry, Casey and them and was hooked til the end. I rewatched a lot on YouTube and have seen all of 2001-2010. I never thought this soap was that bad like people were complaining about. Compared to the other cbs soaps it was definitely top 2. Only Y&R was a bit stronger up til like 2008. I even think it was better at times than OLTL and GH. I got to see some of the 1990 episodes until my hard drive crashed and was quite bored and surprised. People were telling me how great this show was back then and the last decade was garbage yet I found myself enjoying the last decade more than the few months I saw there and even what I watched in real time between 94-97 wasn’t that exciting lol

Kay was a character I would say was written for the most too.

If the clone story ain’t on the top 3 or at least top 5 of the worst than I can’t take anyone who is a soap opera lover serious tbh lol

That’s what we all Like to know. They always excuse it with a Phrase like: It reflects real life and its relatable and all this stuff. But I’ve never met a village, a farm or anyone in a town where Like ALL people are that miserable lol but to be fair all British soap operas are Like This. Hollyoaks was the Most balanced with Camp and ridiculous over the top Comic Relief characters + serious storylines and even that was left in the 2010‘s. It’s Crazy i really try to love Emmerdale like I did from the mid/end 90’s til the end of 2010‘s and a bit of early 2020‘s.. But it’s so hard to defend that sh1tshow that it has become.

Mia Martin was on the German soap „Marienhof“ from 1996 to 1998 and she played Kristin Bergmann on General Hospital in 2002 in Alexis Flashbacks.

I’m Not looking forward to the corrie and Emmerdale crossover.. I don’t know why but it doesn’t excite me Right now

I Thought it felt a bit flat. The Main Anniversary episodes . The later one was great. The Brookside Crossover is a letdown cause it gets Overshadowed by the other Stuff. It felt so forced on the main show. i wonder if we lose Nancy. I always wanted them to free the salary and get rid of that overrated character! Grace got killed off and we lost Peri.. Im so upset about peri though the actress of grace said she couldn’t Take the hate anymore because of the exploiting story and stuff. Damn. Sounds Like the Fandom Managed to get rid of her lol Crazy.. But yeah. There was no way we could Look past that. We loved Gangster Grace but This was not it. Claire on the other hand is OK. Cause she has always been Evil since the Max/OB/Tom Days in the 00‘s and we never saw her as redemption material lol

True. Thanks. There was an German actress that was a regular on the Old soap „Marienhof“ and she left that Soap and I believe it was GH aswell where she moved to for a bit. I will Look up her Name again later. But it’s definitely Great to See that

They had one of plus belle la vie‘s Biggest Stars and couldn’t pull Numbers. What a shame but the other soap seems a bit in danger too. No talks of season 2 so far

I love that soap and I got my Hands on nearly Most episodes. Its funny that someone uploaded all episodes on Archive before I realized it and got sued by the Network and had to pay big Money lol

The thing is that we all made Fun of eastenders for being like that and now look at this. EE has more Funny scenes in it than Emmerdale. But all British soaps are like this for Years. It’s Not much Fun anymore to Watch them

Early 2026 Marks the Return of Sat.1 Soap „Die Landarztpraxis“ with the 4th season and this time it will get more episodes. i checked out the new pro7 soap. Watched Episode 1-2 so far. It’s alright. Nothing groundbreaking or Special. I will wait until this show is getting to the 50th Episode and then I May keep watching. But pro7 and their Track Record of Soaps is a joke.

I was at the last Gtst Fan Event in 2015 when This Show celebrated the 25th! I liked that anniversary too but this one was so Special. But I think it was time for Laura‘s character to end. It broke me down when I saw Arnie. He had Voice Cameo a couple of years ago but an actual on screen appearence. I Never Thought I would See One of my all time Favorite characters back on the Show. I was One of those that hated the 2005 twist. But at least Arnie took his mom with him. that that duet that was on during the Episode with Laura was great. Mostly I don’t linker Style of Music. She was singing at the live Event too and I wasn’t really feeling it lol but Great Voice regardless

Ok a Finn and Bridge hook up and feud between Bridge and Stefy would actually be fun tbh

I love reading your comments about the golden era of Emmerdale. I wasn’t born and I was not part of that era. For me it was more the 00’s and late 90’s til mid 2010’s that I was fond of. I have started the 70’s when the dvd volumes were released and continued to download them all til the newest episode on that one board. I watched 1972 - 76 and 89 til 2025. I always felt Emmerdale farm was like the TV version of the archers from the bbc.

I would say that GH is doing a better job this year tbh

I’m a long time Emmerdale Fan too. The introduction of the King family in 2004 up to 2008 really shaped the soap for a great run. Carl King had consistently hilarious, exciting and awesome stories. His brother Matthew too. The death of their father and the who done it in 06 was so impactful last year it was consistently good was in the mid 2010’s with Lachlan as serial killer. I would say 2018. People hated on the stalking and obsessed Meena saga from 2020-21 but it actually carried the entire show on its back. The anniversary episodes with the maze fire were epic and looked so good.
