  1. Is it me, or does it feel like they actually paid attention during the strike period? Or am I just carelessly optimistic?
  2. YES! Not to mention, McClain had wonderful chemistry with everyone on the canvas she worked with. Jennifer vs. Kate worked so well because McClain was in the role.
  3. Same. And made me LIKE Jennifer for the first time ever.
  4. Oh, haha, no! She came on before that. The phasing out of the Brooks & Fosters did not happen until 1980 when the soap transitioned from a half-hour to one-hour, due to the actors' deals, which limited them to the half-hour format.
  5. By my saying "if X were smart" is merely a saying. Not questioning her intelligence as I have full confidence in that she's making the decisions she needs to make to not only make the set safe, but also put the show back on the right track, hopefully! While I would normally agree, the character of Jack Deveraux has been that "reformed" prior to now. And, if the T****-esque storyline did not turn viewers away from him I doubt they will at this point. And, honestly, I'd recast Jack with Mark Valley and bring in Cady McClain, LOL! They would have FIRE chemisry! I'm not saying to "go backward to an image of a family that represents what sold soap in 1965." I'm merely stating we need a healthy mix of both. Old and new, but to completely wipe a family, in gearing up towards a sixtieth anniversary, is a mistake. I think now, more than ever, a lot of viewers would like more history and family included on their stories, and I feel like Days of Our Lives was one of those soaps that excelled with FAMILY as its cornerstone, and, again, with the proper head writer / head writing team, it could have a nice healthy mix.
  6. She was, but she did not come until November 1973 after ratings were less than impressive, and it was Cooper's casting who really made people pay attention to the soap. 😉
  7. I agree with [most] of these, aside from one or two.
  8. What a beautiful, heartfelt tribute.
  9. 💯 It was a shift that was needed to keep the soap alive, due to poor ratings. The introduction of Jeanne Cooper's Katherine Chancellor changed everything. Once the show expanded from half-hour to one-hour, [most] of the deals for actors forbid them from acting that full hour, so it meant William J. Bell had to re-develop things, and it brought forth the Abbott and Newman families, and they slowly transitioned out the Brooks and Foster families, due to their success.
  10. Oh, definitely. But, I also believe Reeves is more settled in Tennessee or wherever it is where she and the family are residing, and it seemed like TPTB were open to keeping McClain in the role, and allowing Reeves to come in when / if available. But, if I am being honest, McClain did wonders in the role and would love to see Janet Drucker re-hire her full-time.
  11. Considering they're been teasing a potential romantic entanglement with Laura Wright's Carly... my guess is Brennan will get out and try to prove to her he's one of the good guys. 🤷🏻‍♂️
  12. Hate to say it, but I feel like this is just the beginning of Pikeman, as it seemed like the interim team ended up, and then they got word that the writing team wanted it back, so they worked it back into place.
  13. Titanic was called "the ship of dreams," and it was. It really was.
  14. Kim Delaney: Starred on All My Children as Jenny Gardner (1981–1984), went on th appearance in roles on NYPD Blue and Army Wives, and then returned to daytime as Jackie Templeton on General Hospital (2020–2021).
  15. Wishing Eden McCoy the best. That being said, Courtney Fulk is doing amazing in the role.
  16. Oh, I would've hated her as Pamela. Glad that did not happen.
  17. I did it... and it reminded me why I enjoyed the reboot much more. Kristen is the standout for me, though.
  18. UGH. No. And I hope she is not a recast. Let it be a new role, be there for one-year and then be GONE! We are really hiring someone new for a new role when he could've re-hired someone who was fired under the abuser? SMFH. I did that a bit ago. Much nicer that way.
  19. Well, if Drucker were smart and we got a capable head writer (hopefully a female), we could see the return as Matthew Ashford & Cady McClain as Jack & Jennifer, respectively, which could begin the relaunch of the Horton family. Returning with them could be Mike Horton (Roark Critchlow) and Jeremy Horton (Trevor Donovan / recast), with the former being re-hired at Salem University Hospital. And then we could see Lucas be [finally] released from prison and sober (for once), rebuilding his life in Salem. And then, once this stupid Victor Kiriakis storyline is dropped, Melissa Horton (Lisa Trusel / Martha Byrne) and Nathan Horton (Mark Hapka) can return to town and establish roots in Salem to be with her mother, which is long overdue, and connect with sister Sarah. There is a way to re-build the Horton family, with paired with the Brady family, should be an integral focus of the canvas in 2024.
  20. I really would love a re-focus onto the Horton family in 2024. Get back to that, and hopefully with Janet Drucker in-charge we can bring in a proper head writer to do that. A female head writer with the ability to bring some normality with edge to the canvas for streaming.
  21. But they seemed real selective in the categories they chose to do it with.
