I get the idea of killing off Nikolas, but I don't see it as a necessity. Now, had Tyler Christopher been in the role recently, then yes I'd feel that way, but he'd been out of the role since 2016. Oh, it was bad, IMHO. A lot of stars looked like they had gotten "refreshed" days-to-hours prior to the event, and it was very off-putting.

The "she's come undone" storyline is quintessential Cynthia Watros. I know you don't, but the two instances where he's appeared were quite well done and miles better, in terms of legal-world, than anything Martin / Diane have given us in YEARS. Plus, we could rid ourselves of Kentucky Fried Martin and potentially pair Lucy with Jackson, or even Jackson with Alexis. 🤷🏻‍♂️ I'd be open to it; I've liked Tanisha Harper since day one, despite how green she was. But, it's clear to me her hiring was a result of the fact Sean Blakemore was leaving. A.K.A. "we're losing a Black actor, so we've got to hire another!"

Melchoir was a choice for the potential of recasting Byrne, yes. I do wonder what the other two choices could have done in the role.

If it were me, I'd keep Sofia Mattsson on but, bump her to recurring. And if it were a choice between dropping Maxie or Nina, then I'd drop Maxie. Maybe even to just recurring and having her only appear a few times per year for a year or two. My one concern with that, though, is what it could cause to happen to Kristina Wagner's Felicia.

Because the "writer" writes for actor not character; no way would Louise Sorel have done that material, plus, Strasser is a pet of the "writer."
