  1. Chris Durham was well cast as Dakota...he was a great foil for the saintly Ryans. Chris sparked more w/ Ilene and Cali than w. Nancy likely because of the ill-conceived amnesia storyline.
  2. Agreed, Johnno was a weak link in the later years…but I don’t think Jason Adams was the issue. He was charismatic enough and had great chemistry with and was perfectly cast as the child of Ilene Kristen and John Sanderford. The right romantic pairing could have salvaged the character and set Johnno up to be as popular as Ryan. Before Ryan, Maggie Shelby was the most exciting new character to pump energy into the show. The camera loved Cali Timmons and she was perfectly cast as the foil to the Ryans and Coleridges. I wish Cali had acted more after RH. If Yasmine, Grant Show, Wlcek, etc. found success in primetime, surely Cali could have too.
  3. Not enough credit is given to the Ryan Finelli years...likely because these episodes never got a rewatch the way the early years did on SoapNet. The show desperately needed a re-fresh and the new generation of Ryans did just that, while keeping many of the originals front and center in supporting roles. Yasmine Bleeth was an engaging enough performer and with Ryan's trials, Jack, Maeve and Johnny were allowed plenty of airtime. Ryan's pairing with Rick Hyde was exactly the young love fix that ABC Daytime mandated for all its shows in the late 80s. There were certainly days and weeks when Ryan and Rick's romance was more compelling than many of ABC Daytime's other more highly rated couples.
  4. Anyone have a link to this episode? would love to see it again
  5. I know some fans resent that Rae-Kim-Michael shifted focus from the Ryans...but I'd argue it was a jolt of freshness that RH desperately needed. By the early 80s, the Ryans had grown stale, we all needed a breather from their sanctimoniousness and the revolving door of actors playing the Ryan brood was inconsistent.
  6. Great interview w/ Ray Liotta (RIP) talking about his soap start on AW. He says Kathleen Widdoes was the best actress he ever worked with... http://www.wtfpod.com/podcast/repost-ray-liotta-from-2018
  7. Julianne Moore posted a lovely and heartfelt tribute to Ms. Hays just now. She's always a class act -- forever honoring her roots in daytime. https://www.instagram.com/p/CcLfp3up7wE/
  8. Miss Wyman discusses the origins of her hairstyle in this interview. The entire interview is a delight -- 5 short clips, at her home -- totally worth a watch. Love that she matched her outfit to her flowers. What a lady !
  9. He was always always by Susan's side...
  10. Great reunion ! What a rare career Kate has had -- having a career in daytime on just one show and for so many years. While I admire that she gave up stardom for her husband and family, you have to wonder what if...films, broadway, series. She was just so unique... Enjoyed hearing Tom's memories as a child actor on AMC -- especially his stories about Kelly Ripa and Chris Bruno.
  11. Is this where Genie met her husband Jonathan Frakes ? At least something lasted from BE... The gorgeous Al Corely started on the show but if I remember correctly his character was killed off pretty quickly. Wish it was still available to be seen...
  12. From People "This marks Duell's second divorce. His first marriage to Taylor Novak ended in an annulment after less than six months in 2012." https://people.com/tv/courtney-hope-chad-duell-split-after-2-months-of-marriage/
  13. Susan Sullivan looks divine...and love seeing David Selby again. He still has that sparkle.
  14. Hopefully TPTB will use the $ freed up from Burton & IR to bring back more vets.

  16. Some great photos in here. Glad to see Jon surface after being MIA for so long... https://jonhensleymusic.com
  17. Interestingly, Judith called out her role on Another World as being the most fun because her character was so bad. She specifically mentioned how much she enjoyed acting against a young Ray Liotta.
  18. Judith McConnell's was one of Locher's better interviews. His interviews are always stronger when he is less familiar with his guests and hasn't worked with them previously. But McConnell deserves all credit for making the interview shine -- she's a natural storyteller and was candid, honest, emotional and shared both personal and professional memories. The highlight was her recounting of her daughter's adoption during her time on SB. She is as beautiful and sharp as ever. A shame no one is offering her roles now -- she said she would like to work more. But her life as a mother and new grandmother is full and joyful. Happy for her that she has found such happiness out of the spotlight.
  19. Lisa's time on SFT, Another World and Loving all ended when the shows were cancelled. Wonder what she'd be doing if she had landed a meaty role on a higher profile show like AMC or GL...
  20. In the Locher interview, Lisa Peluso said definitively that she did not miss acting. She had "done that" since she was 4 months old and sacrificed a lot to be a working actress her entire life. She sounds very happy with her current life and seems to realize she had a great acting career, but that there was more to be had leading a life outside the spotlight. Happy for her...
  21. Today w/ Goutman was Locher as he should be for all interviews. Smooth, professional and respectful. Lots of insights and questions into Goutman's acting, directing and producing career. Edge of Night, Another World and All My Children were all discussed...before getting to ATWT. Locher even dared to ask Goutman about Martha Byrne ! I was shocked that a company man would go there...but of course thrilled. Basically Goutman answered that he wished it had not gone down the way it did and he knew what a loss losing Martha was. That if he had to do it over again he would have done it differently. He said if Mickey Dwyer Dobbin had still be there working with him, it would likely have ended differently. The interview is worth the watch just to hear him answer this question. I so wonder if Martha was at home watching... He also revealed a silver lining that resulted: Noelle Beck was the one who got Julianne Moore to return at the end -- they were friends. So if Noelle had not been playing Lily, we likely would not have had Julianne's lovely farewell return.
  22. Nice interview today w/ Linda Dano. She has a new iPhone so the connection was much better than the last time. Dano stays in touch w/ Robin Christopher and Matt Crane. Does anyone know if they are still acting ? Would love for Locher to interview those two -- they were always so gorgeous.
  23. Eileen looks great ! Thrilled to see her looking so healthy and happy.
  24. Jane Krakowski was profiled on Sunday Today this morning, with mentions of her start on SFT and her Emmy noms for TR. The segment included a quick clip of Jane in a scene w/ Sherry Mathis.
  25. Despite the tech difficulties, this was one of the better interviews. Maybe SMS felt more comfortable spilling tea since we could not see her, or maybe it was the 1on1 format...I'll have to have another listen to unpack everything she shared. Loved hearing about her friendship w/ Jennifer Ashe and Renee Props that started before they were on the show together. And her memories of Doug Marland made me adore him even more. Interestingly, Martha Byrne was not mentioned once (hmmm). Was glad SMS made it clear she was never intimidated or in awe of Hubbard or Bryggman. Sadly, three of SMS' leading men died tragically -- Michael D Morrison, Michael Louden and Keith Pruitt. Her comments about MDM's death were so very sad. With Benjamin Hendrickson's death, its clear ATWT's cast included many tortured souls.
