  1. I was watching the insurrection happening live on the internet while it was originally happening way back on Jan. 6, 2021, and posting about it here on this thread as it happened along with others on this thread - we were all posting live updates here. It was terrifying. Regarding last night (June 9, 2022)'s hearing -- they specifically said that it would be broadcast in primetime. The word "primetime" was used. They wanted it to air live to allow as many as possible to see the footage. They chose a start time of 8:00pm eastern and 5:00pm Pacific for the live hearing, so as to include as many Americans as possible. The committee is aware that a lot of Americans don't know what happened that day, not really. They aired a lot of footage last night. They were aware that it's not like the Watergate era when the citizenry voluntarily watched the hearings. Now they had to bill it as a primetime event. At first, I didn't want to bother to watch last night, because I thought I had already seen it ... but then I decided to watch as a witness to whatever additional new footage would be shown, and there was indeed a lot of footage I hadn't seen before. Plus I watched the whole thing as a *respect* for the process. Respect for the congressional investigation process, respect for those who testified, etc. Respect for truth.
  2. What Kenny ( @KLN ) said on this thread back in January about Abby is coming true. Something savage (or bloody) happens so you believe she's dead and not missing. That's what Kenny said but he didn't mention the specific method of death. He said that due to the inability to work things out with Mansi and Miller, they made a casting and story decision. The only details in the new SOD that were not in Kenny's intel were the list of suspects and that the "story" part of the decision was the need to free Chad. Abby is NOT decapitated. That was a fake rumor that was circulating. The photo in the new SOD clearly show that she has blood on her torso which indicates that something horrible has happened, but her head is very much attached.
  3. I was trying to watch the hearing on the CSPAN youtube channel, and it wanted me to sign into youtube and say I am over 18 years of age. I guess due to the violence? But a google account is needed to sign into youtube and NO I'm not going to do that. I could watch on c-span.org but the video is more choppy. So I'm watching on the washingtonpost youtube channel. The first hour and a half is just talking heads of news analysis. The hearings start at one hour and 31 minutes into this video. (They committee took a ten-minute break from 2:30:00 to 2:40:00, which is full of news analysis you can fast-forward through)
  4. It's possible (but not confirmed) that congressional hearings June 13 could cause a preemption. If that happens, then it would shift the airdate of the 15,000th episode.
  5. This four-minute video is worth watching - and listening to.
  6. Week of May 30th, Elena has a dream/nightmare that "Imani captures Nate's attention in a sexual manner". (I'm quoting only that one phrase from the article). Elana later confronts Imani at Crimson Lights. Meanwhile this promo for week of May 30th - not sure if this is Elena's dream, or if Imani really does invite Nate to the shower? I'm just sitting here excited that there's a promo that features Imani! (I don't care if it's a fakeout dream or if it's real.) Either way, Imani gets the promo! They titled the promo "Imani's move"
  7. Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern of New Zealand, interviewed on Steven Colbert's show. Interview in three parts. Watch all three parts all the way through. It is so refreshing to see a sane government. She talks about gun control, Covid, Ukraine, sustainability, etc.
  8. Week of May 30th - no date listed: Leo begins to plot his revenge against Abigail. Jan has a request of Ben. Kayla checks out Sonny at the hospital. Abigail makes a decision. Monday, May 30 - preempted for French Open tennis Tuesday, May 31, 2022 Will urges Sonny to report Leo to the police. Someone catches Belle and EJ sharing a kiss. Abigail asks Chad if he wants to have another child. Xander and Sarah have an emotional breakthrough. Wednesday, June 1, 2022 Belle wants Shawn to sign a separation agreement. Jan seeks Marlena's help. Nicole encourages EJ to pursue Belle. Ciara has a special request for Rafe. Ciara bestows an honor on Rafe. Thursday, June 2 and Friday June 3 - preempted for French Open tennis. The May/June tennis preemption is for the French Open. Days has done the May/June preemption annually for past 10 years. Except in 2020 when COVID moved it to October.
  9. I am horrified that the police did nothing for 40 minutes while waiting for someone to bring them a key to the classroom. This is horrible and should be investigated. HOWEVER. They cannot blame the deaths *solely* on police apathy. The national outrage still needs to be focused on guns. Well I mean *both* are horrifying. I just don't want one to eclipse the other. The police leaving the children in the classroom to die... is complete disregard for life. Allowing the guns to be sold is also complete disregard for life. It is not my intention to compare one as being worse than the other, they are different things. It's all horrible.
  10. Bridget returned March 31, telling Brooke on the phone that she's "currently working out of University Hospital in Los Angeles for a while to help with restructuring and shortages". On April 7, Bridget was working at the hospital when Steffy was brought into the emergency room after the shooting, and Bridget became Steffy's doctor then. At the end of the May sweeps preview, Brad Bell said: "Bridget will be involved in a story that really happens in June, so I won’t say too much about that. But we’ll be seeing Bridget more."
  11. I rewatched and reread recaps/transcripts. Ashland's heart attack was real. But the cancer was fake. When he was away in New York with Victoria, he spontaneously decided to add the fake cancer onto his real heart issues as a way to gain inroads to take over Newman Enterprises. Ashland explained all of this when he finally confessed to Victoria a few days after the accident in which Rey died. This explains why the viewers saw Ashland collapse when nobody was around - it was due to his heart issues.
  12. Here's the rest of the DAYS summer preview, paraphrased: Lucas and Sami: Sami still thinks EJ is the kidnapper because Lucas had convinced her of that. Sami's feelings for EJ had disappeared. Now Sami returns to Salem, Lucas proposes, and she says yes. Will Lucas be revealed or exposed as her kidnapper, and how does that affect Sami's feelings? (Setting things up as their wedding approaches.) Jan/Shawn/Belle/EJ: Belle files for a legal separation. She thinks this will "create clarity". Shawn interprets it differently! Shawn feels that Belle deciding to file for separation means that Belle won't fight for their marriage anymore. Shawn assumes that Belle seeks a technicality - so that she can have a legal way to become closer to EJ. Ron suggests that the viewers might wonder if EJ is what’s subconsciously driving Belle. Meanwhile Jan continues to use her pregnancy to amp up any wedge between Belle and Shawn. Ron says that both storylines (Lumi/EJ/Shelle/Jan) "are on a collision course” when Sami returns to Salem.
  13. Reposting because it's so much needed (AMarch4OurLives was organized after the 2018 Florida high school shooting)
  14. Regarding the burkini ban -- will they ban wetsuits as well? This gives a different meaning to "fashion police". Who will judge whether it's a garment to prevent cold or a garment to cover modesty?
  15. I don't remember that. Was it from summer 2021? Edit. I think I found the one you're talking about. https://soaps.sheknows.com/general-hospital/recaps/614731/general-hospital-austin-suggests-brook-lynn-playing-valentin/ Odd choice for a rerun.
  16. Today is the second anniversary of George Floyd's death. https://www.msn.com/en-us/news/us/biden-orders-police-reforms-two-years-after-floyd-killing/ar-AAXJw2O Biden signed an executive order to implement police reform. He said he got tired of waiting for the Senate to approve it. The families of George Floyd and Breonna Taylor were present at the signing. same speech on youtube Text of the above speeches by Vice President Harris and President Biden: https://www.whitehouse.gov/briefing-room/speeches-remarks/2022/05/25/remarks-by-president-biden-and-vice-president-harris-at-signing-of-executive-order-to-advance-effective-accountable-policing-and-strengthen-public-safety/ At the very end of the video, Biden literally gave George Floyd's daughter Gianna his seat at the table..
  17. Naomi Matsuda's scenes this week have all been fire.
  18. Beto O'Rourke confronts Texas Governor Abbott ---------------------------------------- Same clip with reaction from the sherriff and Abbott ---------------------------------------- Beto's statement outside after they made him leave the room
  19. Holly was the best part of Tuesday May 24 episode. She was shipping Ericole with Rafe present. ROFL. That did my Ericole-loving heart good!
