Well *if* Y&R is unwilling to pay Mishael enough to re-sign, then I doubt VR would want to return.

Y&R August 2022 Discussion Thread
Actually it's there's more hope for Ms. Rowell returning than before, I think? She was in a CBS primetime series, Yes regular broadcast primetime CBS! this past season! Series named "Good Sam". "Good Sam" was about a father and daughter who were both heart surgeons. The father was played by the actor who was Gabriel Lorca on season one of Star Trek Discovery - and this heart surgeon was just as smug and arrogant as Lorca. The daughter was played by Sophia Bush and she tried her best, but the dialog writing was atrocious. Victoria Rowell appeared as recurring in at least 6 episodes as a member of the hospital board. VR did well but the show was awful and was cancelled. I watched every episode *only* to support the show because I wanted to support VR. At any rate, VR seems to be able to connect with CBS now. Not sure how she feels about Sony. VR is directing and producing a lot. She was directing/and/or producing a Christmas movie to be released in 2023. Leigh-Ann Rose (Y&R's Imani Benedict) is in that movie. There was a picture of them (VR and L-A R) on the movie set watching the Daytime Emmys and cheering on Mishael Morgan when Mishael won the best actress Emmy in June. I keep hoping ... but ... Although I want Drucilla back on Y&R ... I'd wait until the show gets better. Right now VR deserves better than Y&R.

Y&R August 2022 Discussion Thread
I had started a thread for this in the spoiler section, not really a spoiler but it could become a spoiler if she's totally gone. Maybe she's just recurring. The spoiler thread for Mishael is here: https://boards.soapoperanetwork.com/topic/61603-yr-actress-change-in-status

Y&R August 2022 Discussion Thread
Bryton, Liz Hendrickson, Brytni, and Mishael went to New York to see Christian Le Blanc who is performing off-Broadway. Edit: Mishael is no longer listed in the contract cast credits but is apparently still hanging out with cast socially.

Tristan Lake Leabu? He seems focused on his music career, per his instagram account. Here's what he looked like in June https://www.instagram.com/p/CfQwzX-DDid/ July 21 https://www.instagram.com/p/CgR6NseFTlk/ And he seems to be trying to avoid that young look now. Here's what he looks like in his instagram of August 13: https://www.instagram.com/p/ChNHo6Krlbh

Bold promo week of August 15th: Custody.
I watched the episodes when Douglas was conceived. It was obvious to me that Thomas raped Caroline because she was too drunk/stoned/whatever to consent. I think Brad Bell said that it wasn't rape but that never convinced me. At all. I hated that they wrote it that Caroline moved to New York to try to work things out with Thomas (or something like that) when they took Linsey Godfrey off contract. Liam is the first cousin of Douglas' late mother Caroline Spencer. Liam is an idiot but he's a decent father figure. Bill Spencer always looked out for his niece Caroline. Hope isn't biologically related to Douglas, and I kind of feel "meh" about her character in general, but she's been good to Douglas. And I loved it when Douglas revealed to everyone that Steffy had unknowingly adopted Beth due to the Reese Buckingham baby switch storyline. I mean yeah. Douglas is named after his great grandmother Stephanie Douglas Forrester. So of course he should be part of that clan. But still... Thomas is kind of creepy. I never like it when soap characters are declared "redeemed" when we don't really see evidence of that process on screen. Where are Douglas's Spencer grandmothers (Caroline's mothers)? I lost track. I think some sort of shared custody/visitation arrangement makes sense but I don't believe Thomas is stable enough to be a primary parent.

Y&R actress clarifies status (update page 5)
In the Monday August 15 US episode (Friday Aug 12 Canadian), the closing credits have Mishael Morgan missing. She's no longer listed with the alphabetical contract cast (nor is she listed in the guests for this week).

I wonder if Jack really kisses Diane, or if the promo is all just Diane's fantasy?

DAYS OF OUR LIVES Moves to Peacock From NBC on September 12
The original link isn't dead. But the posted link was a copy/paste of a truncated link, so thus the middle part of the URL is missing, which is why it didn't work. Here's the full link that had been intended to be posted: https://podcasts.google.com/feed/aHR0cHM6Ly9mZWVkcy5zaW1wbGVjYXN0LmNvbS9ndnRldzJmNA/episode/ODkzZjNkNTktZDcxMS00NmYzLWIwZmItZDBiZWEzYTQwYWNj That's just the google podcast version of SoapDigest "dishing with digest" podcast https://www.soapoperadigest.com/content/dayss-robert-scott-wilson-guests-on-digests-podcast/ I skipped through all of his talking about Ben and Alex. He talks about the change to Peacock on the SOD page from 44:10 to 46:30. Then he goes back to talking about Ben so I turned it off. EDIT to add: This link goes directly to his episode and is easy to find time markers: https://www.stitcher.com/show/dishing-with-digest-soap-opera-digest-news-and-exclusive-interviews/episode/robert-scott-wilson-on-becoming-dayss-alex-205726891

Maya Frangié was the DAYS publicist 2018-2021. Maya is now the Peacock publicist. https://www.linkedin.com/in/mayafrangie/ Lia Maiuri was announced as the new DAYS publicist in January 2022. https://www.soapoperanetwork.com/2022/01/lia-maiuri-corday-productions-director-of-communications-publicity-days-of-our-lives Not sure what specifically either of them is doing regarding the DAYS transition news. Insulin amendments to the bill: (compiled from various tweets and articles) Senate voted on Kennedy's amendment – he said he will "re-implement a rule Biden repealed to make insulin available at community health care centers." Would pay for it by redirecting money away from Obamacare. Murray said Rs should support the insulin price cap instead. (This Kennedy amendment was essentially a bid to show Republican support for addressing the cost of insulin, though Democrats opposed it as insufficient. It came right before Republicans were expected to strip out the Democratic-authored insulin proposal in the bill for violating Senate rules on budget reconciliation.) Kennedy amendment did not pass. Republicans challenged the $35 cap on insulin prices for the private marketplace, as a violation of the strict budget rules governing passage of this bill. The $35 cap on insulin prices for private insurers is officially out of the bill. Seven Republicans voted with Democrats to keep the cap for private insurers in the bill, 57-43, insulin price cap for private market is stricken from the bill (needed 60 to survive). 7 Rs voted to keep it in the bill: Cassidy, Collins, Hawley, Hyde Smith, Kennedy, Murkowski, & Sullivan The cap on price of insulin for those on Medicare is still in the bill. That part was ruled to comply with reconciliation rules. Summary: The $35.00 cap on insulin for private insurers was stricken from the bill. The $35.00 cap on insulin for Medicare patients remains in the bill. Senate Finance chair @RonWyden gives out this statement: “Republicans have just gone on the record in favor of expensive insulin. After years of tough talk about taking on insulin makers, Republicans have once against wilted in the face of heat from Big Pharma”.- The Politics Thread

That might be what the press is running with ... But, just my opinion, but that's not really what Bernie is aiming for, at least as far as I can see while watching the overnight proceedings. (I don't know any scoop, just relaying my observations from watching live). It's more like Bernie is saying what most Democrats actually think about some of the provisions of the bill .... and he's using his voice to express the ideas formally on the floor, ... BUT ... But Bernie knows perfectly well that the Dems are going to * vote as one* in a block ... and thus reject some of the stuff they themselves support ... so as to get the bill passed. Some of the motions that the Dems are rejecting - are clearly fairly mainstream ideas that most of them support. They're just trying to get the bill passed. Bernie will go along with the rest of the Dems. He's just formally putting forth some of the Dem ideas that aren't in the bill. He is raising them on the floor, and with each of his motions, all the Dems vote him down (in addition to the repubs voting him down). On one of Bernie's proposed amendments: Senators Voting in Favor - Ossoff, Sanders, and Warnock. All the rest of the Dems voted no. And all the repubs voted no. Most of Bernie's proposed amendments are being voted "NO" by all the senators from both parties - with Bernie being the only "aye" vote." Obviously he expected this. It really feels like a formality (to me who is simply watching and doesn't know any behind-the-scenes scoop). I think Bernie wants his motions entered into the Congressional record, as some way to get the voice of the Dems in there. That's all. I don't think he's grandstanding - he knows his proposals will fail. He's just serving a role. (but yeah the press will try to spin this for drama.) ---------- Here's an example of what I mean: ------------------------------------- Meanwhile the repubs are proposing all sorts of amendments to the bill that are clearly crazy attempts to overturn some of the bill's basic ideas. The repubs are all supporting these amendments, but they don't have enough votes (per the reconciliation rules) to get their amendments approved.- The Politics Thread
This has begun in the Senate: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Vote-a-rama It is expected to last all night, apparently Watch live: https://www.c-span.org/video/?522197-1/senate-debates-inflation-reduction-act&live- YR promo week of July 26th: The end.
oh right of course. CLB will be playing Big Daddy in an Off-Broadway production of Tennessee Williams’ “Cat on a Hot Tin Roof” at "The Theater at St. Clement's" in New York City. Previews began on July 15th. It officially opened on July 24 and will run through August 14th. The off-Broadway show was originally supposed to run in January, and CLB had prearranged time off for that, so Y&R wrote into the plot that Michael would be in Peru. Then the January production of the play in New York was postponed due to a COVID outbreak; but the Peru storyline was already written, so CLB had to take the time off then anyhow. The play was moved to July so that's what's happening now.
