I was advocating for him getting a secret kid not long ago! But not by Dominique.

And I hoped Cody was Katherine Bell's con artist son, whom she had abandoned years before moving to Port Charles. But nope, he has to be Dominique's long-lost child with Mac. This would have also been an excellent time to introduce Serena back to the canvas with this long-lost half-brother and her mother (Lucy) being MIA or presumed dead.

That researcher who found that blurb about Mac/Dominique deserves a raise lol!  It seems so silly to bend all credibility to give Mac/Dom a child.  I am pretty sure no one ask for that in the entire current viewing audience (possibly in viewer history)! Just give Mac a kid from some nameless lass in Australia.

Didn't Mac meet Dominique before she came to PC or was that all shown on screen too?  For some reason I thought she follow him to Port Charles or something.

I wanted Mac's child to be from his mercenary days to be a daughter who turns out to be a social climbing model for Deception.

That's why you got to be specific on wishing storylines and characters.

Speaking of Taggert, where the heck is he? He should be all over this Trina stuff. Is there ANYONE who wants Curtis to be her father? It's so lame.

I've seen photos of Real Andrews back on set filming, so I hope it's coming.

  3. I think one of the reasons why we don't get Cam's POV as much is because William Lipton is on recurring as he goes to college, though they always make it sound like Cameron is taking care of his four and eight-year-old brothers as a reason why he and Joss were growing apart, even though they're more like 16 and 10 by now.

Then again, this is the same character who didn't get to meet either one of his grandparents on screen.

Dex is in a long line of Frank's specific young white male casting, i.e., Brando and the Ford Brothers. He's attractive, as is Montone, who gets our young heroine to do something unusual and then makes them realize they're not right for each other, i.e., Langston and Ford and Starr and James. I do hope, however, that they will eventually bring on a young adult Emma or Lila Rae for a future romance with Cameron.

  4. If those characters tied to the legacy families don't include Diana Carter, Mary Warwick, RJ Forrester, Felicia Forrester, Dino Damiano, Eric Sharpe, or Rick Forrester, then Brad can keep it. I do hope they use Li more, as well as Jack Finnegan, who should mix it up romantically with either Brooke or Taylor. I also wouldn't mind Ian Buchanan doing a stint as James, if possible.

I also hope some of the new characters have their own rival fashion house, so perhaps Thomas can work there.

Brad's lack of attention span doesn't give me confidence in Carter and Katie's slow burn.

With all of the talk about Zende and Thomas it got me thinking how illogical it is that Eric no longer designs for FC.

Karl Lagerfeld designed for Chanel up to his dying day, and FC only has one fashion show a year, so it's not that hard.

I could understand using the younger generation to design the diffusion line of Hope for the Future, but why not have Eric continuing to design for the main line?

On the same note, is B&B ever going to address the downturn of print media and its effect on Spencer Publications?  I know CBS as a whole barely references the changes in media consumption.  However, from lack of pandemic references to the odd cell phone apps they use, the parallel universe that these characters live within is growing further from reality all the time.

I wish Spencer Publications could play more of a part on the show for that reason. It's also the reason why I wish Paris would've been a cub journalist who came to work there and was mentored by Bill as well as befriended Liam and Wyatt too.

  5. I wouldn't mind a Jabot anniversary that brings together the Abbotts, Jill, etc., for a gala that ends up with Jeremy aiming to shoot Diane, but instead Kyle or Jack gets shot in the crossfire, causing Ashley, Nikki, and Phyllis to feel guilty about bringing this man to town in the first place. And Diane goes off on each one of them, promising that if anything happens to Jack or Kyle, they will answer to her.

I know it would never happen, but I wouldn't mind a primetime episode leading up to next year's Daytime Emmy; perhaps CBS/Sony gives them some bucks to make the show look better.

Perhaps a look-back documentary with past and present stars including Janice Lynde, Jamie Lyn Bauer, John McCook, Eric Braeden, Peter Bergman, Jess Walton, Victoria Rowell (yeah, I know), Shemar Moore, Heather Tom, Susan Walters, Michelle Stafford, Bryton James, etc., counting down 50 moments from the show's 50 years.

Ah, Danny & Cricket redux. The flashbacks were good, obviously the first one was from 1994 while I think the second one came from the 6/1/2012 episode. However sad to see Christine all alone moping around thinking about Danny…plus Christine follows Phyllis on Instagram…?

The Daniel, Danny, and Phyllis scenes were a highlight and poignant.

Meanwhile as @janea4oldmentioned in the spoiler forum, in case no one has watched today’s yet the Billy/Chelsea scenes are bizarre (unbreakable egg game?) and FF-worthy.

Hopefully Christine follows Danny and/or Daniel. I doubt she would ever follow Phyllis on social media.

I love all the glares Danny gave Phyllis every time she opened her mouth.

I wonder if they are going to say that Paul and Christine separated or divorced off-screen.

We didn't need those Billy and Chelsea scenes, as once again he tries to do his best Deepak Chopra on her.

In 2021, it was a big surprise when Tatiani Katrantzi reprised her role as Jennifer "Jenny" Turner on Unter Uns after having been off the show for almost 23 years. In January 2023, Katrantzi will return once more – this time, she's back on contract. The Greek-born actress was part of the original cast and played a huge part in the show's early days.

Jenny's only ties to the current canvas are Chris and Corinna Weigel (who she was friends with back in the day – both characters were brought back in 2021 as recasts) and Ute Kiefer.

However, there are rumours that Corinna might be killed off soon. Her portrayer Nina Weisz didn't take part in the anniversary photo shoot and the show reportedly filmed a funeral a few days ago.

Are you glad to see Jenny back full time?

How do you feel about them possibly killing of Corinna?

Haha, I remember thinking they were gonna rerun that 2005 wedding during Covid but thank goodness they didn’t. Yet they showed the Sheila/Lauren yacht fight episode from a week later when they could have showed the lab fight instead.

I wish they showed Rex’s funeral from December 1994, they made a montage of Danny’s “greatest hits” for his return tomorrow and they showed the scene where Phyllis crashes the funeral and Danny confronts her.

Oh, I thought they were going to do it during the Pandemic too 🤣

They already had rerun Lauren and Michael's wedding so many times in the last fifteen years.

They should've re-aired a Christmas episode from at least 2004 or prior but at least it isn't an episode from 2020.

  9. Rory was, in my opinion, a character who had no real development. He was just created to be a third party, and that was mainly on TPTB. I thought they were going to reveal that somehow, he was related to Selina Wu, and the reason why he became a cop was because he was against the family's criminal organization. But his death isn't really much of a loss. If anything, Diane should've been killed off.

I'm hoping Spencer and Trina will be dating by the spring of next year. It's beyond time, and I can't see Nicholas Chavez signing on after his contract expires in 2024.

Someone tweeted a couple weeks ago asking Wendy Riche to come back to GH and she replied with hearts. Whatever that means.  Don't know if she'd be open to Y&R.

I think Wendy Riche would make a good EP at YR too. Though I'm not sure if she would want to put up with Sony while trying to give us a better show, both creatively and aesthetically. Nonetheless, it wouldn't hurt to test those waters if possible. I just don't want to see Josh Griffith as both an EP and the head writer. We already know the history of this show when it comes to giving head writers "full power."

Hopefully, Josh will be the next to go after his contract expires, and they will try to find someone who can at least tell a decently long story for the characters. He can go back to writing his novels. Maybe they promote Amanda Beall, Sara Bibel, or Natalie Minardi Slater, though I doubt any of them want the job at this point.

If the show cut some of their cast: Chloe, Chelsea, Michael, Abby, Chance, for examples...they could afford a few $1500 extras now and then. The show doesn't need 40 characters to be compelling. (and therefore wouldn't need as many sets for all of them).

I know Mal Young was not my favorite, i.e., "that gift for Mishael Morgan," but I think he did have a point when he got rid of Chelsea, Kevin, and Chloe. I would have Chelsea and Johnny start to bond, and then perhaps she dies in a plane crash. And Kevin, Chloe, and those kids of theirs can move to Silicon Valley.

Is it safe to say that Y&R is in budget mode?

I think it's past that point currently. I think it's been starting to go that way for the last few years now. Even Days has better-looking sets than this show. I kind of wish they would just transform that hotel set into an apartment set. And don't get me started on Noah's tacky-looking business that seems to be more of a supper club than an actual nightclub.

When COVID occurred and we saw how sparse the sets were, their cost-effective measures became more apparent to the viewers. In a way, it would be more effective to have characters such as Noah, Abby, etc., work at their family companies if they want to save money on sets.

  13. I hope this is only temporary in regard to Josh being the head writer and EP, because this show acts as if it didn't learn its lesson the other times, they had HW's also be EPs. It usually doesn't work out well for them in the long run.

I'm curious about them having actual plans for the 50th next year. And not just bring on Janice Lynde's Leslie Brooks to play piano with no lines or get Meg Bennett for a pointless cameo as Julia.

In my memory it was a rather tacky looking set (supposed to be a remodeled Indigo Jazz club, once owned by Neil???)  in which Judith Chapman was prancing around as Gloria, sometimes funny but quite often not so much. I think it was during that time that Tad Shackleford was feautured quite promimently as her "loverman" Jeff.

I also remember Gloria referring herself as "Glo" while referring to Jeff as the "worm" somewhat affectionately.

Phyllis giggling aside, whoever wrote this past week’s worth of episodes has pretty much been on point.

Daniel & Lily is pure nostalgia, Jack calling out Phyllis’s own history with Christine and Sharon and calling out her “smirk” was perfection, the Lauren/Sally scenes were surprisingly refreshing, and someone FINALLY remembered Allison Lanier has  has the talent to steamroll over Stafford while also still being able to play daddy’s little girl when needed after months of ignoring that talent.

A victim of too much rewriting. The Rey/Chelsea plot was very obviously dropped in abrupt fashion when some executives ordered Rey’s death. The Shick reunion didn’t pan at all. Unfortunately Sharon has relegated to the role of Aunt Liz on AW or something akin to Lisa on ATWT or Holly on GL during their final decade.

Or as I say on Twitter the show has made Sharon the new "Aunt Ruby" from GH dispensing advice to everyone over coffee.

1 hour ago, Paul Raven said:

The obvious story for Sharon is some revelation about her father that could lead her on a quest, maybe discover a half sibling.

I could envision Sharon somehow getting a letter or a DM on her social media from her father stating he's dying and wants to see her one last time before he goes. Sharon can first consider whether she should go see the man who abandoned her and her mother for years. Noah may be more opposed to her leaving, whereas Mariah may be more in favor of her leaving. Ultimately, Sharon decides to go visit him in Arizona and finds out that she has a half-brother from her father's other marriage who is a bit of drifter. But Sharon offers a place to stay if he ever comes to Genoa City which he does.  Yet the half-brother's intentions might not be as sincere.
