I'm sorry for the woman who lost all her possessions and work from the fire, and I feel like any other statement ends up downplaying her loss, which is not my intent, but this just has me so down.  I am glad if Anne is at peace, shallow as that is to say. but the last week has felt so fast and so, so wrong.

Anne is one of the best actors soaps ever had and I hope someday that is how people can remember her.

    Couldn't said it better myself.

  2. It seems Robert Newman didn't waste any time after leaving YR either he is currently back on stage in Michigan which is like an hour and a half away from where he lives via a plane ride instead of the four/five one he took to LA.

The thing is that Phyllis, Nikki, and Ashley are treating Diane like she is on par with Patty Williams or Mari Jo Mason. I'm like yes, she framed you for murder and set you up as an arsonist, but you all have done some outlandish things in your time as well. I hope Diane or Kyle get to mention some of Phyllis misdeeds to her face when you know what hits the fan.

Realistically, they could do what other shows have done re: music rights - straight out remove it and replace it with cheap elevator music. With that said, I doubt they'll suddenly add every episode even if there's some vague plan to do so - it's just not viable endevour to add 14,000 episodes at once.

With that said, I hope they start adding the first few weeks, select storylines, episodes etc. That is probably more realistic (aside from not doing it at all and all this is just a big fat lie, which is the most realistic thing to happen).

Themes for select episodes they could do

Best of Supercouples (Bo & Hope, John & Marlena, Steve & Kayla etc.,)

    The Hortons through the years

    Sami Brady

    The Best Of The DiMeras

    The Last Blast Gang

The PP soaps, though mismanaged and too far ahead of their time, had the advantage of being on what is still a major streamer with multiple things people want to watch: Hulu, which has only gained in prominence since with Disney. Peacock doesn't have enough other content to warrant that fee for enough people.

And at the time Hulu had a free tier with decent content to boot.

It would Be Great if He Played Brooks, or then Didn't Snapper Foster have a Son with that Waitress Sally? Anyway, it would be incredible if they reintroduced one of them to work a Return of of the Fosters and Brooks for next year's 50th Anniversary

    Chuckie Rouland

I didn't think about that. I just hope if they do that if they bring on the Brooks Sisters for the 50th they are given actual POV. And not just standing there in the corner and given weird dialogue about Jill.

Stuck with boretoria, a fate worse than death lol

Well I hope he doesn't gnaw the scenery like he did on OLTL

I hope he doesn't phone it in like he had been doing on and off in his last few years on One Life To Live. He's one of those actors that you could see when he isn't feeling the material he's given.

@AdelaideCate007 @Dion @Forever8 Moving the conversation from the Neighbours thread.

I had forgotten about Pippa and Don.  I don't think either are mentioned these days either.

You may have already  read this but a former storyliner for the show talked about how he planned to bring Fisher back, with dementia, dying in Alf's arms. The story, along with several others (like Brody Morgan being gay) was vetoed.

    https://www.backtothebay.net/news/2022/03/16/former-home-and-away-script-exec-reveals-plans-kill-off-favourite/

I heard about the proposed Fisher storyline. If anything, if Fisher would've died it should've been in Marilyn's arms instead. But I can see why it was vetoed either way.

Though it's sad the network is so hesitant about revisiting the past and is embracing solely the future. I mean I'm kind of surprised they never recast or brough back any of Irene's children or grandchildren. I guess I should be surprised that they brought on Leah's nephew from one of her brothers.

I have watched the show the last few years and mostly  enjoyed it  but I can definitely see where they have moved away  from  their history in a way Neighbours never really did so I can't imagine the ending packing as much of a nostalgic punch, beyond Sally returning. Morag was beloved but sadly the actress passed away some years back (and it was never even acknowledged  onscreen, was it). Otherwise the more known characters from the show are still on it - Irene, Alf, Marilyn. I guess Colleen?

Anyway, this is a good piece  featuring some interviews with former writers and story plans that were never done.

They probably would try to bring back Pippa and Don.

20 years ago it was Neighbours that was completely ignoring their history with no Robinsons left (I think it was the Perfect Blend website who sometime in either 2003 or 04 bemoaned that Helen Daniels hadn't been mentioned in years) and Harold Bishop being the last "Ramsay". Whereas Home and Away was still having visits from Pippa or her original foster children every 1 - 2 years.

Of course this began to change in 2003 when they brought Teenage Sky Mangel on and Harold's son David, followed of course by Paul Robinson's return at the end of 2004 and the exceptional 20th anniversary celebrations. Meanwhile Home and Away seems to have pretty much cut ties after Sally left, except for Marilyn and Roo returning and the use of Alf's long lost daughter Quinn (originally a brief storyline from 1995) to provide him with another grandson - Ryder.

It's quite sad that Home and Away has shed pretty much its true origins since it had worked for them for about 20 years. I remember being surprised when read that the Astoni's were the first "complete" family to feature on H&A since the Sutherlands and that was 17 years prior.

They mentioned Greta a lot in the first Beyond Salem, so I thought it was a possibility, but I guess not.  I don't think Julianne Morris acts anymore.  Hopefully someday someone will tell us who Greta's father is lol.

I remember thinking Julianne Morris was going to pop up any second during the first Beyond Salem to blow Ciara's cover.

The thing is, though, I don't think - if it is either actor - they are holding the show hostage. As a matter of fact, in the case of Jeff Webber, RDA has made it plain more than once that he is done with Jeff. It's TPTB that think some miracle will occur and RDA will miraculously change his mind.

OG MacGyver has probably provided him a good enough nest egg where he doesn't need GH anymore. So I blame those in charge, not the actor who has already made his stance clear.

I bet both MacGyver and Stargate SG1 has kept RDA going good for years financially.

They must have asked RDA 10-20 times in the last 30 years. There's no reason to expect him to return.

At this point recast Jeff with a Soap Vet in his 60's or 70's and keep it moving.
