  1. Is it just me or is Y&R isn't bad or isn't good at the moment, but kind of in the middle of those two categories.

Why is Abby Newman standing around playing hostess in the restaurant she owns everyday? I doubt Heiress Paris Hilton sits around her stores or other businesses she has overseas on a daily/nightly basis. I would've preferred if somehow Abby became CEO of Jabot instead of Jack this time. She could've had people thinking "The Naked Heiress" couldn't run a company, let alone tie her own shoes. Nonetheless, it turns out she does better than what Jack,  Billy, and Kyle can do. I'm not a fan of most rich young characters working/running restaurants/nightclubs.

  2. In this recorded interview from a never before seen hour long television interview part of "Who Shot The Daytime Soap" Kristoff talked about growing up as a child/teenage actor from Roots the Next Generation to Generations.

He also talked about a disastrous date with a 80's starlet and them working again a few years later where her famous boyfriend auditioned for the same role that KSJ gotten. That was part was so funny.

In a rare never before heard interview from 2013, Kristoff St. John discusses his life, career and his future. He also talks about the difficulties and challenges he faced being an African American actor and role model. This is an intimate informal interview of Kristoff St. John just letting loose! You don't want to miss it!

@DRW50, I agree. Corrie has been dead for a LONG time.

I don't mind Iain McLeod, as I did like him at Emmerdale somewhat.

Corrie's issue is that they need to clean house with a lot of characters. They have too much dead weight, and they have been walking the cobbles for too long.

They've been in a funk for awhile. Like the start of the decade. Dare I say it, but Corrie's 50th anniversary should've literally wiped out 50% of the cast at that time.

Which characters would you rid of?

It seems like most of the people I WANT gone our leaving.

Frances was always so active and vital. How many strokes and ailments did she have towards the end? Alice was so actively involved and it was so sad to see it decreased to basically hanging off of Maggie and later either in bed or in the chair. But Frances worked up until she couldn't. I just loved her  Losing her and Alice was such a massive loss to the show. It has never felt the same, honestly.

And I think they should have used Alice's memorial in 2010 to make the rest of the Horton's "relevant" again, but they all only returned for that and were shoved off again. Marie should be vital and active. Bill and Laura. Mickey could have been better recast, IMHO (but that ship sailed, of course, since he's dead too). Mike (instead we spent almost a decade on Maggie's egg-baby) ... Jeremy ... Melissa ... at least they finally brought on Sarah. I like Linsey but I always had my heart set on a redhead for Sarah LOL (and Sarah should be about 10 years older). They wrote Nick into a corner and killed him. They had no interest in Nathan (who should have been Jeremy, but I liked them introducing a son for Melissa "the forgotten" cousin as we spent years on Hope and Jennifer ... most viewers probably have no clue Hope and Melissa were best friends)

At least they recognize Julie and Doug should be filling the matriarch and patriarch (as much as Jarlena stans want to insist Jarlena are the current Tom and Alice; I like Jarlena but I massively disagree on this, they're not at that point yet). I still think they can better use Julie and SSH is more than able to work. So is Bill, but he's also what, over 90? I understand not using Doug as much. But neither appeared in April ...

I also want to whine that they could take time to write for other characters. Adrienne and Justin only appeared twice (I'm not their biggest fan, but I like each actor and I think both characters can fill roles on the canvas) and they filled a role in their episodes. I liked Adrienne's use with Jennifer and the Jack/Eve wedding, but then why not give them a followup episode where they discuss this? The lack of investment in a lot of characters, not just them (and I get it, they're recurring and you have to pay them to use them ... so why not a limited contract??) is sad. To note, I was reading some recaps recently and when The Dragon story started (a lot of these stories are honestly dumb, but the rest of the show and actors make up for it) they killed off Russian Sonia, who was living with Don, but from what I saw, they never bothered to show Don after. They were getting close, she's killed and then nothing? Did I miss that? The shows had their flaws even then.

If DAYS ever got a decent budget , Yeah I know .... Anyway, if it was possible which Hortons would you bring back for a short or long stint?

    Mines would be

    Jeremy Horton

    Mike Horton

Melissa Horton - Recast if Lisa Trussell doesn't want to come back for a longer stint.

  5. I think the last time they mentioned Casey was about twelve years ago or so. I remember they had Noah when he was played by Hunter Allan go to Colorado to be with his Great Aunt Casey for sometime. Because I recall Sharon telling Drucilla this when Dru was staying at Sharon's house when Neil threw her out of the kitchenette apartment.

  6. Since I found out that all fourteen seasons of Dallas were on the IMDb Freedive I've been watching from Season 1 now I'm on S3:The Silent Killer the one about a recast Digger Barnes coming back to town who is diagnosed with a genetic condition that could be passed on Cliff and Pamela.

This is my first time watching Dallas since I was only 1 year old when the show ended back in the day. This show along with Knots Landing are two primetime soaps that l always wanted to check out. But never got the chance since I didn't grow up with cable meaning no SoapNet to see them in reruns.

Surprisingly one of my favorite characters on this show is Miss Ellie Ewing

Barbara Bel Geddes brings something extra to this southern matriarch who can command respect from the men in her family without even raising her voice. I love how she even told Jock that she didn't need his last name to feel secure because she was a "Southworth"

And Bobby is such a precious cinnamon roll as the youngest child who is most like his mother in terms of temperament. He definitely feels sort of the family gatekeeper.

Lucy and Pamela's relationship is something l like since she is craving a motherly influence and if already her being engaged to a man who is in the closet and getting hooked on drugs with the quickest recovery known to TV. I would be pissed if my family kept going on about

More thoughts on the series soon from me ...

  7. The exit of Antoinette Byron's Natalie Nash from Home & Away from 2000. Coincidentally she played a recast for the character and from what I read from H&A fans this scene with her daughter Gypsy running to her in the rain is a memorable one.

  8. For viewers who actually watched the show a little further into it's run.

Does anyone know what was going to be Jared Casey's secret?

I heard rumors that he was going to be working for Alistair, but It seemed he was here one day and gone tomorrow. I wonder did it had to with it going to DIRECTV too?

I actually enjoyed him and Theresa together as couple. They were sexyand fun and didn't have all the drama and disgust that Ethan & Theresa had. Besides, it was great to see Ethan finally see how it was to be on the outside looking in.
