Charlie/Mattie were born in 2010. Now would have been the time to age them to about 16, not 6 years ago.

The whole SORASING was done for no reason and wasted characters that would have been viable down the line.

I remember when Ashley turned up with teen Abby(Hayley Erin)who never did much but set the whole aging of that character in motion to the point where we now  have a 40 year old playing the character.

It's an issue that will continue I'm sure.

And then they had Kyle who was born only months after Cousin Abby remain 10 years old for "reasons."

I never understood why Bryant was killed off... especially when it seemed as if the show was looking to do a triangle with him, Jennifer, and his cousin (Cricket's son).   Would have been an opportunity to maybe have bought back Cricket for an arc... just to see where she was in her life and perhaps to have some conflict between her/Craig with Margo being peace-maker.   And to see how she would have interacted with half sister Katie (who I think was a lot like Cricket was it sounds like)

Now you know this would've made too much sense to the brass.

I always think As The World Turns had so much potential wasted regarding their legacy characters and history. I wanted them to bring on a rebellious teenage Hope Dixon to stay at Bob & Kim's. The way I would've salivated over Grandma Kim giving her one of her famous "Kiddos." to her granddaughter. Not to mention having her mix it up with Faith and Parker too.

I’ve been rewatching Party of Five and when I reached season five, the quality instantly dropped and it was such a jarring shift I was curious if they changed show runners. Then I noticed in the credits that John Romano joined as EP and it explained it all. He’s the same man who ruined Knots Landing in season 13. Just a dreadful writer when it comes to soaps.

    Is Party Of Five steaming?

Shortland Street, as another part of its 2023 revamp, has decided to include a "patient of the week" format (complete with looks at the home lives of said patients), somewhat similar to what GH and The Doctors used to do with more patient focus. I can't say whether it's working out that well or not, but it's certainly a shift away from what you often get on soaps in recent years. This format started with the March 20, 2023 episode. You can find all the episodes from recent months on Youtube.

Also, Doctors on BBC do that as well.

They talked a little bit about Dina (that he was just now getting over her death, thanks to Diane) and she, I recall, told Lily that she was just like her mother (gag).

What bugs me is the erasure of Dru’s death, which I know is partly political. When Lily was making up with Devon and reminding him of all the losses and tragedies they survived together, she started with HILLARY’s death. I’m like, hello, you guys lost your MOTHER in a freak accident due to Phyllis and her schemes.

Devon and Lily should have had more issues with Phyllis over the years. How hypocritical was it for GT Phyllis to attack Lily for her part in Hillary’s death at the funeral, when Phyllis herself played a part in Dru’s death? And Lily/Daniel just behave like Daniel’s mother and her past actions are water under the bridge.

Of course, this show fetishizes Neil’s death, which… I KNOW… is partly due to how beloved KSJ was behind the scenes, how much press KSJ’s death gave the show, and some recency bias. (Even though Y&R treated him like [!@#$%^&*].) But as much as Neil is brought up, you’d think Devon and Lily would at least mention that they’ve been essentially “orphaned.”

    Hello!

You would think Drucilla Winters never exists on this show, as someone pointed out on Twitter that it was Dru who raised Lily. Not to mention that it was Dru who initially fought for them to take Devon into their home. But you'll think Neil was just a widower who did all the raising and caring for them.

I was surprised on yesterday's episode that Daniel asked Lily about Dru's death to her; my mouth gaped open in shock. And then they had Lily mention it was different because a body was never found. For years they hardly mentioned the circumstances of her supposed death, so I don't know if that's a hint for something upcoming or if whoever wrote it wanted to give the Winters a bone.

On the same subject on General Hospital, with Lucy being supposedly dead, it isn't clear if Scotty knows the truth, not to mention I wish they would have Lucy at least mention Serena and Christina. Okay, if Christina somehow doesn't exist anymore, which I hate, at least they could've had Anna tell Lucy to think of the possible danger you're getting Serena into if you keep leaving the safe house. Or you'll think Lucy would think about how heartbroken Serena would be if she thinks she died.

For Leanna's recent Y&R cameos, I would have used her as the town narrator at the gala. I would have paired her with a town newbie, like Audra. And every time someone has a visceral reaction to her (e.g., Ashley, Nikki, Jack), Leanna can whisper to Audra their conflict and other town gossip about the person leading to a short flashback montage.

This would have been a good balance of history, while solidifying Audra as the new town pot-stirrer.

    There you go!

  7. Most recently with Leanna Love on Y&R, I wished for a small moment they would've acknowledged the reason Ashley despised her, including a small flashback between her and Leanna from thirty-five years ago regarding Leanna's obsession with Ashley's first husband, Dr. Steven Lassiter, and Ruthless. And when Leanna was in scenes with Danny and Gina, I was hoping a small nod would've been made about Rex since Leanna and he were good friends and once paired together romantically too, I believe.

  8. Next year if they do the Nurses Ball, they need to drop the red carpet it comes off as corny and the opposite of entertaining.

No new opening is a missed opportunity.  They need not overhaul it, just be smarter about how they use the photos and stop initiating so many seizures.

I do like how all the women are wearing shimmery/shiny dresses. It’s a fun play on the theme. Ava looked stunning in evergreen, it is a blond’s colour. It was nice to see Portia and Jordan not in work clothes.

This red carpet portion can be 1/2 an episode, it’s not that funny. If it were a regular character like Maxie or Lucy hosting it, I can see it having the “Leanna Love” gossip factor ala Y&R. As is, it’s a cameo by a guest star no one cares about.

They should modernize the Autumn Breeze/Ambulance opening. And call it a day!

Do you think they will be anymore classic characters returning this year for the anniversary whether its permanent or for a short stint other than the ones we know about?

Olivia and Malcolm literally had a custody battle over him and Malcolm won!

Malcolm is his fücking father. Fuuuuck this show.

The error is probably on whoever wrote that writeup. But then again, this show had Devon spit out that Nate didn't know Neil well.
