That is a very big assumption in this day and age.

I don't actually think this strike is the death knell for GH or DAYS at least. I suspect they have planned for the strike and will muddle through one way or another. Y&R is another story.

They are never recasting Jack again and most likely never firing Nick lol. I also think Griffith would rather cut off his arm than dump Thompson, MCE and several other played out people.

And they couldn't fire Melissa Claire Egan right now anyway because she's pregnant again. And like you said Jason Thompson is too much liked by Josh. If anything, I would write off Elena, Tucker and Chloe for starters.

Talk about wasted potential....I was hoping this would have been long term...but with the bad writing and GF unable to play the hard edges... the character didn't last.  You would have thought someone could recall that AMC tried a similar character in the early 90s and when she couldn't play the vixen..turned the character into another Laura.

The days when Jill cared more about that fraud poser than her actual son.

Personally it would’ve been more fun if Sally had slept with Chance and connect her with Jill as opposed to some umpteenth Newman family drama. It’s also ridiculous that the show invested in Chelsea’s suicidal attempt but now she’s barely seen with zero repercussions.

Exactly! It's like since Abby and Chance's quickie divorce, Chance has been put on the back burner. Imagine Sally and Chance hooking up one night at Society. At first, neither of them thinks it's serious, but they start to bond. Jill disapproves knowing from her own shady past that Sally isn't the person her grandson should be with. Not to mention it would affect Chance's friendship with Adam since he would be envious of his friend moving on with his ex-lover.

Taggert was involved with several women during his time on the show, including Dara and Hannah Scott, Roy's daughter and Sonny's FBI sidepiece (and Mrs. Jonathan Jackson). Anything with Portia has to have happened after he left town/was reassigned to a remote location, IIRC how they framed it onscreen.

Maybe it's just my mind playing tricks on me but weren't Taggert/Portia/Trina living in Portland, Oregon during that time? Or somewhere on the other side of the country?

    Same here.

As much as I love Spencer standing up for Cam, there were a lot of other things I would have rather seen him doing at the wedding

They should've had Taggert warning Spencer to treat his "Baby Girl" right and not to be like his father. Throwing in a Gia/Nikolas reference would've been great and fun for old school viewers too.

Cannot believe it's taken me this long to realize Liz and the boys live in THEE Brownstone, dating back to the '80s and '90s.

I remember Ron and Frank tried to bring it back in the mid-2010s by having Michael turn it into new housing where Morgan and Kiki briefly lived, but the set was unrecognizable and looked like a Lego playset. Then it vanished for years, I guess until Liz and Franco moved in. it still doesn't look much like the original to me (I think the kitchenette and stairs are sort of where they should be from semi-recent iterations) but I'm glad it's back.

I remember when Gregory Harrison was supposed to be a sex god 30-35 years ago. I remember hearing about how he dominated Falcon Crest near the end too. He's an attractive man for his age but it must be said he also, in profile, looks like George Washington.

They need to bring on a woman or a scandalously young dude for Alexis though, bc these two are like watching paint dry together.

It's sad too because I thought Gregory Harrison and Nancy Lee Grahn would have chemistry. But they're bantering doesn't do much for me. If anything, I wished they would've brought on Gregory Harrison and Kim Delaney on as Jeff and Carolyn Webber instead but that's another story.

Bill Bell said in a 1996 interview that he regretted writing the storyline where Malcolm took advantage of an over-medicated Dru.

It was brought up again in 2000, when Dru/Malcolm got together. Dru reminded Malcolm of the night that he behaved impulsively with her and Malcolm mentioned he regretted what happened that night. There was no mention though that Lily may have been the result of that night.

I remember hearing that Bill Bell two biggest regrets were killing off Phillip in the 80's and Dru/Malcolm in the 90's.

    Good.

    Carly being Bobbie’s daughter.

I still think Malcolm raping Dru while she was zonked out on cold meds is one of the grossest things I’ve ever seen on a soap. Bell and team didn’t want to take the time to write a real affair story, so they went for a cheap, salacious, out-of-nowhere story that damaged one of their rising star characters as a sexual predator. Yeah, they effectively memory-holed it for years and unearthed it a decade later to try to make it less icky (and shift blame to Dru for keeping Lily’s paternity a secret), but I certainly didn’t forget.

I always hated how they treated Lily's conception like it was some hot one-nightstand between Drucilla and Malcolm, but the audience know otherwise. I think they hardly brought up the specifics of it.

The Chase/BLQ storyline is so dumb yet at the same time is giving exactly the same kind of coked-up, neon-drenched energy as dozens of other pop star/singing storylines on soaps in the '80s and '90s. A skeezy producer! A cop or other hero 'forced' to sing! A secret and wholly unnecessary Scooby Gang plan in which a bunch of young people plot like the Goonies to 'get' this recurring bad guy who is just happy to not be waiting tables in Santa Monica anymore! Other assorted hapless recurring players all built around this silly story! It's giving me distinct "Lujack is a pop star, no really" vibes from '80s GL and a bit of the legendary Danny Romalotti and Friends musical capers from Y&R, or Ricky Paull Goldin's silly stuff on AW. It's dumb and I don't really care about Chase or his romance with Brook at all, but I can't be mad at the story bc it's a pretty classic daytime chestnut, however lame the execution. And I do think the Dr. Luke/Kesha/Scooter Braun/T-Swift parallels are very relevant, and could be made use of in a much better storyline.

I think the issue of this story is that in reality the Q's, Lois, or Sonny would've gotten Linc to sign over Brook Lynn songs back to her by legal/illegal means.

The story is beyond terrible and has been going for far too long. It seems Chris and Dan, Dan and Chris aren't sure what to do with Chase and Brook Lynn and other certain characters on canvas.

RetroTV were supposedly interested in aquiring Edge of Night, but P&G just said they weren't interested in licensing it out.

P&G is like the greedy kids who want all of their cake but don't want to share despite not having any use for it.

On Roku, they have the British Soap Doctors streaming on their network. However, they're only doing two of the latter seasons.

I remember a few years ago IMDbTV/FreeVee also had La Law streaming however episodes were missing likely due to music rights.

Luckily by the end of the month, Neighbours will be showing 2012- 2022 seasons as well as selected iconic episodes.

I'm in love with the idea of Jamie Luner as Phyllis on YR. She's got that sexiness that Phyllis is supposed to have and plays the bitch well.

She or Melinda Clarke were my choices for Phyllis before Gina was hired for the role. And I'm sure Jamie or Melinda wouldn't showcase how bored they're in scenes like a certain actress presently on screen.

When Kassie DePaiva was playing Eve on DAYS, I thought in my opinion she would've been better suited as a recast Melissa Horton or even a recast Kristen Forrester-Dominguez on Bold and Beautiful.

    I second this.

It also seems like they missed an opportunity to make her a specialist character, doctor, chemist, PR, she needs something to add value to the cast rather than just being a romantic lead.  I mean Abby and Lily as high school educated power-brokers is ridiculous, so it would be nice to have a woman outside of the business realm.   I also wish they wrote her with a bit more humor, she is joining this family that is totally nuts as an outsider, and would have been fun to have her react more often.

Allie was a chemist, as she had recently graduated with her master's in chemistry, and she and Ashley were bonding over their shared professions. But, with the Jabot lab likely no longer in operation, I believe we saw her more at Noah's tacky club than at her workplace. Even though they could've shown her walking around the Jabot office set in her lab coat, sharing ideas with Jack, etc.

  12. As I call this show on Twitter "The Recap and The Beautiful" because it is truly the same thing over and over again.

I think somehow Sheila poisoned Bill's necklace, so that is why he is displaying all these emotions of depression. But I feel this story is another waste of everyone's talent. And it shouldn't be the only story on canvas. But there was no buildup or anything about Sheila leeching onto Bill.

And don't get me started on Hope and Steffy being affected by fashion critics like it's still 1992. Those critics would likely be on their own blogs or vlogs, but it wouldn't stop people from buying the line altogether. This is all a ploy for Thomas to get back there. Nonetheless, I wish Brad would've done something different by bringing in Felicia to take over Thomas' position. While Thomas decides either to strike out on his own or be snapped up by a new fashion line, i.e., Fashion Nova or the Shein equivalent of the Bell Universe,

To have a character come out of the closet, off screen is absolutely ridiculous.

You can say the same thing about 95% of this show.

A part of me thinks they did because they know they wouldn't have to invest in the character of Fen for the foreseeable future.

Monday March 27, 2023, Y&R 50th anniversary celebrated on a special episode of The Talk. If EB and Shemar are on that episode, we'd see Sheryl Underwood all squealing fangirl at a level that we've never seen before 🤣

I think you probably summed it up. It probably will have Eric, MTS, Peter, Michelle, Christel, MCE, Joshua, Sharon and Christel will probably be on there.

Traci's Abbott family book was used as the backdrop for Peter Bergman's 30th anniversary special. I found that a bit disrespectful to the other Abbotts, especially since he's not even the original actor.

There's a good chance of getting back some of the Glow by Jabot kids - Brittany, Raul, J.T., and Mac (probably Kelly Krueger though, meh).

I'd rather see individual visits where we can get a few days of scenes like Michael Damian's, than cameo appearances like Leslie and Lorie have made.

For the show's 45th? They had the Glow by Jabot Kids for the Walnut Grove reunion. But with you know who at the helm you may never know.
