As Bobby's talking, we slowly pan over to family photos and mementos, things like a portrait of Gary & Val, one of Lillimae, a framed dust jacket of Capricorn Crude, a photo of Betsy, and most significantly, photos of Bobby taking his kids on their first walks into the ocean. I originally imagined this being how the first episode would end, but that would signify that the new show wouldn't be allowed to exist on its own, that it would always come back to the old show.

Thank you. I have to admit that I'm slightly surprised they never attempted to have all five characters in one episode.

Thomas made his first appearance Friday, Dec. 19, 1997, wrapping Wednesday, Dec. 24. Penelope made her debut Thursday, Feb. 12, 1998, wrapping Thursday, April 16. (She'd already been killed off Friday, Feb. 20.) Also, for extra context, Kristen was introduced Monday, May 17, 1993, and Susan was introduced Monday, Nov. 4, 1996. Eileen's last day as Kristen and Susan (the first time around, that is) was Friday, April 24, 1998.
