Care, probably not. Can be shamed or at least embarrassed, yes. I personally absolutely believe Nielsen was that clueless. People like her are everyday.
It was him, yes. He was very angry but went too far. Most likely, Trump's latest EO - which I think is illegal - gets struck down, and he then plays 'don't blame me' to his base by blaming the courts. It's his typical move when he loses.
It was, he said something stupid while raging about the baby camps.
I'm sorry, but please, no. There was never any plan. There is never any plan with Trump. There is just impulsive, vile behavior and rash mania that he reverses and enacts on whims. It's happened countless times and it will happen again and again and again until he is removed. What is happening is awful, and the 'fix' is awful, no one disputes that. But it is a cave, and it is a start at making him cave further. Suggesting otherwise is not only inaccurate, but it is defeatism and it's factually wrong. It also enables Trump and his people - imbuing them with incredible powers of omniscience and foresight which they simply have never had. And I'm not saying this about you but about other people I see this suggestion from online - I think for some folks it is a kind of strange coping mechanism. They'd rather believe the man has a master plan and is unbeatable, because the reality - that he is a lunatic with no impulse control - is too much to bear.
Yeah, it's not good. That said, he is caving. And it's a start, and it proves pushing and fighting works, as it has before.
That's ominous as hell.
I think Sheryl is a goddess, my all-time favorite actor and character from TP and the center of the show, but her part was too small (though integral) to justify that. One more hour and she might have it locked. Maybe next season. I'd give it to Grace or Catherine, but tbh I suspect TP will be lucky to get nominations or awards for the show, Lynch or Kyle. All of whom deserve it, but despite it being a critical hit it is likely too alienating and not mainstream 'weird' enough to sweep those awards. I'll be shocked if it does. I think Lynch and Kyle may have a real shot, though. Interesting quote from the Kyle interview re: the ending for the Joneses that confirms what I'd hoped:

Stopping watching cable news today only gives these people cover for baby concentration camps. And yeah, that's exactly what those are. The only reason this is getting such coverage is because mainstream media, warts and all, and good reporters working for many different outlets are boots on the ground doing the work.
I don't think it's working out for them. I think this is Airportgate Part 2. Whether a GOP Congress will buckle remains to be seen.
I'd be very excited if it wasn't for Alex Kurtzman masterminding things. He's a hack. The Hollywood Reporter version of this story indicates Patrick Stewart may return as Picard in one new project. I've long said the TNG cast is owed an honorable sendoff with a miniseries on Netflix, but CBS All Access and written by Kurtzman is not what I had in mind. I guess we'll see.
