Y'know, I purged all my rage on Crash and some other stuff, so I don't get into the increasingly OTT Oscars psychodrama most years anymore. It's become so hot take histrionic and cliquish. When the Oscars disappoint me now all I can do is laugh at this point. It's not the worst thing to ever win but it's still so white-centric, derivative, schlocky and full of issues. It is a shocker, but it's typical of the older Academy voters. You'd think they'd have gotten it out of their system after Driving Miss Daisy and Crash but here we are.
I like BP a lot but def did not think it deserved Best Picture. I sure would've preferred it over this though.
