  1. Today in NY Times angst:
  2. This is a wonderful piece on the show overall (and a bunch of quotes from OLTL's own Melissa Fumero):
  3. FH gets a fifth and final season:
  4. Bernie is a cop:
  5. As long as Criterion's device platfoms actually work this time around I'm all for it. Netflix did finish Orson Welles' final film and put many of his works on their platform, which means a lot to me.
  6. Gordon Thomson pinged from space.
  7. Meanwhile, back at CBS:
  8. This needs to be in here as well:
  9. Kim's autobiography is pretty candid, if sanitized in a few places. I recommend it. The thing about GL is creatively it felt dead to me long before it was cancelled. The budget was basically nil and they were shooting outside in horrible conditions. Search the word "Peapack" on this forum and you'll learn plenty. It was a mercy killing to me. And it is sad, because yes, it was a legendary television institution and it didn't have to be that way. But no one in television had regarded it as anything but a forgotten relic for many years. You could revive GL well, much as All My Children got revived on Hulu, with a fairly similar return to its classic tone. It probably will never happen, but it's a shame what became of it. I felt it was almost completely irrelevant by the time it died, and that to me was very sad.
  10. I haven't been a huge fan of most SNL political sketches in many years for reasons I know Carl shares and can enumerate for all of us (with a few exceptions, like the Matt Damon Kavanaugh sketch which largely just traded on actual quotes and his performance), but Steve Martin and co. do a solid job with this: Not sure they needed yet another Kate McKinnon impression, hilarious though she is. I honestly haven't seen much of Wilbur Ross so on its face it just seemed like another excuse for her to be there
  11. "#TrumpCaved" is trending.
  12. Singer is persona non grata outside Millennium, which is a junk company. I don't think he'll come back from this in larger circles. But we'll see. I frankly doubt Red Sonja will get made. I think Michael Jackson is one of the greatest musicians and entertainers in our history. His impact is incalculable and his work will live forever, and should. I think his life is a very tragic story, and that what became of him started when he was a very young victim. I also have never wavered that he raped children and was a sexual predator. And I am not exactly looking forward to the high-minded thinkpieces that try to pretend there is any difference between him and R. Kelly.
  13. This must be Bannon:
  14. And now, a topic that will end well for us all:
