I see it both ways. And I think his comments about not changing the system are the biggest mistake in this day and age. I understand his POV but we're past that now. Things have to change to survive. Maybe not in the way Sanders cult wants, but in a lot of ways, over time. Meanwhile:

And Chuck's very out of step with the moment on this one, which makes me think NBC may actually make him walk it back. Joe Biden is a good if very flawed man. His heart is in the right place and I will vote for him without much agita if need be, but this is a fundamental misreading of our times and why he is the wrong man for this moment in our history, IMO. I think this and other things like it will continue to damage him.

That's not even the whole alleged story of what went down with that last take. On a side note: IIRC Frank Marshall, Spielberg's longtime producer, allegedly hired the kids under the table to work nights (TZ was a Spielberg co-production with several others). After the accident he apparently fled town for awhile. Landis had a rough few years, but got to make Coming to America, etc. near the end of the '80s, where he feuded with Eddie Murphy. His career really flagged for good in the '90s, but his rep as a legend (well earned in some respects) has not disappeared.

I think it's a bit more complicated. He seemed lovely going in with that beautiful family and a lot of great ideas, but we all mocked him after he took office because he became incredibly inept and tone-deaf. That crossed a lot of class lines, at least in terms of the perception of him. Meanwhile, in the UK, a modest proposal:
