  1. The shaming of them is kind of relentless in at least the last six to twelve months, so much that I think a reckoning may actually be coming this time. Their brand of snobbery and insular arrogance re: the norms of journalism is uniquely unsuited to this moment in history. What makes it worse is, there are still a lot of legitimately good journalists on staff and stories the paper breaks.
  2. But wait! There's more!
  3. If you wanted a Masked Singer-style hit you needed to make it a proper revival, possibly with some new younger cast as their kids.
  4. Exactly my thoughts from the beginning. This is at best a FunnyOrDie clip and they got it greenlit as a series? How, Sway?? What a waste of a reunion.
  5. The right is already pushing an 'impeach' hashtag, but that will do nothing. I can see arguments against publicizing it. I don't care. The times are too different now. These people should be named and shamed.
  6. Even by recent brutal standards of them clowning themselves, this NYT headline is taking a beating from everyone.
  7. Alexi Hawley sounds like he'd fit right in at Moonves' CBS - or the current CBS, where they are still making weak excuses for keeping Bull on the air. No, Stana Katic was allegedly never a picnic to work with at Castle, but the sexist double standard with women as well as procedurals - and now Nathan Fillion procedurals - runs much deeper than that. I don't see any involvement in his part here (unlike Castle, where he and Katic were allegedly at each other's throats) but it's still a very bad long-running look for him that he needs to get out in front of if he's wise. Some digging by the audience suggests that the alleged harasser of Williamson is likely A shame if so, I've liked him in many shows over the years.
  8. I don't know all the details on Saikat Chakrabarti. I do know he kept spamming twitter attacks on Pelosi, the CBC (basically calling some of them 'Dixiecrats'), Davids, etc. and encouraging primarying Dems while still serving as AOC's CoS. His public showing-out was primarily responsible for the inter-party tiff last month between the freshman four and the rest of the House. After Pelosi, AOC, Omar, etc. began publicly making nice recently, the Atlantic did a puff piece about Chakrabarti trying to present him as indispensable to the future. But I knew he'd be gone, and now he is.
  9. Lynch discusses the end of S3 in this new interview. He again is not saying 'this is the final end of the show,' simply that that is how S3 ends. Lynch: That’s how it ends. So … I’m not really able to discuss that, but the word home, it’s a beautiful word. In “The Wizard of Oz,” that line, “There’s no place like home.” This is something that everybody feels but there’s still many unhappy homes. It would be great to have a world where everyone had a home that they loved and where they felt secure and happy. MacKenzie: What makes a house a home? Lynch: It’s not just something to keep the elements out. It’s somewhere you feel very good; a place you like to return to if you go out. And if there’s other people in the home, a family, and you like them, it’s great. MacKenzie: If someone doesn’t have the security of a home, what are the consequences? Lynch: It makes a big trauma for a person, and it’s not right. Everyone should have a home, a place where they’re safe, where they can sleep and get rest, keep their stuff. We, human beings, owe it to each other to find a way that everyone has a place and no one goes to bed hungry at night. It’s something we’ve got to work together to get for all the people.
  10. The thing is, and this is not the first time for either a good or bad outcome, it doesn't matter what the media thinks. The fact is, Trump's numbers are down and GOP pollsters are panicking. It may play to his base but his base is not enough.
  11. It's an important seat. Not everything is meaningless or pointless just because they don't care about diversity. Strategically, the seat is a problem for them.
  12. Hurd is a major blow for the GOP - it was a difficult seat to take. The rank and file and power structure are freaking out tonight.
