  1. And they are the minority.
  2. It's been less than a week since they took office. I think we can avoid doomsaying just because the centrist Dems are the ones who always give background to reporters first.
  3. I was referring to the Cathy in the 1975 episode who was Dorrie Kavanaugh. Harmon is in the other two. I've seen Harmon in many other things and like her a lot. It is credited as him in the closing credits, but who knows.
  4. Jameson Parker is very cute and devilish as the OG Brad Vernon. I know him mostly from starring in John Carpenter's Prince of Darkness, one of my favorite horror movies, a decade later. Very different from Steve Fletcher. Young Jackie Zeman is of course luminous. Jordan Charney as Vinnie #2 is very sweet with Viki. This post-Fishburne Josh Hall (Todd Davis) has serious chemistry with Samantha Vernon, but of course we know that's the forbidden zone (though it seems Carla is sensing the same thing I am - did they play with that?). How nice to see Viki as Danny's aunt. Another forgotten character from a family I always wanted brought back. The beauty shots are a rare thing to see these days, but I liked them doing the little moment of the Lord boys eating the cake. If soaps were on streaming today you could easily bring those back as little credits stingers, which of course all sitcoms do these days. I don't have time to watch all of the second '77 ep yet but wow, is that Claire Malis as Dorian? They replaced Nancy Pinkerton in under a month.
  5. There's some great dialogue initially sketching out the rather broad but still progressive roles for Tony and Cathy in the '75 ep - the male chauvinist and the '70s conception of the liberated feminist. A bit amazed as intellectual a line as 'the dialectic of the movement' aired at 2(?) PM EST on a soap; would not happen today. Of course then Reinholt's Tony, who seems like a lot of fun up til then, compares Cathy to a Saigon hooker and forces himself on her. Sign of the times, I suppose. Dorrie Kavanaugh I'd never seen outside of her famous cameo on Dark Shadows, but she does read too old despite clicking with GR. Carla and Anna are luminous. I always wanted Doris Belack to cameo as part of a revival of the Woleks.
  6. This Cathy Craig looks way too old. They weren't fùcking around with the SORAS. Is this after Robin passed on the recast?
  7. Holy shít. Thank you, God.
  8. ABC News got got:
  9. Someone is clearly fair game for Maggie, who had no access to her:
  10. This Caliphate thing keeps growing and growing, just like the drip-drip of the Capitol siege reveal (which is why Mitch slow-walking the impeachment for two weeks was IMO a mistake for the GOP - that story will keep getting bigger). I would love to see it result in real damage like the Cotton affair, only this time towards Dean Baquet.
  11. I remember when they began running these walking the dog ads with Warnock - I think I saw one literally the day after the election. People pooh-poohed Warnock's chances then, but I thought those ads, showing him as just another American walking his little dog, were strong and would make an impact. I was more right than I knew.
  12. That clip was great. Wonder if that was when they were still chem-testing her and Trucker. I assumed Agnes ordered the Hubbards brought in in her executive capacity and shepherded her return as HW, but I guess she only moved her to Charles (who was also new) and Trucker back to Dinah when she took over again as HW from Guza and Taggert?
  13. They are being excoriated for that one at Tom Cotton levels. Shameful.
  14. LOL, fùck Shafer. When the GOP wins the Beltway loves to run gushing pieces about how the savvy Republicans are gonna go hogwild and celebrate for years. The Dems are more than welcome to celebrate.
  15. Loath as I am to post Michael Fairman, this interview with Cady and Rob Wilson has them discussing the PP revival. And you know how obsessed I was with it, so voila:
  16. From the A.V. Club, a few years ago (apologies if posted):
  17. Michael Shear from the NYT is upset the new administration has not offered the GOP a "figleaf":
