  1. I don't think it's too soon to worry and do the work one can where they can, especially the administration. I do think it's too soon to catastrophize. Nikki Haley has no chance.

A lot of pix from the premiere of the specials. Carole Ann Ford sighting!
  3. Prison or not, I think it's too early to wet the bed on these polls.
  4. Jensen Buchanan either taped or actually appeared for maybe a couple days on GH as Melissa before CBS pulled their option and sued her. (I seem to recall she did do a few days' work that actually aired before the suit, but it's been a long time. I remember it raised eyebrows among fans who knew she was still appearing on ATWT.) JFP and GH temp recast Melissa very briefly during the kerfluffle, maybe for a few days or weeks tops. Jensen was back on GH very quickly eating up airtime and story for the bulk of 2001. When Jill and Megan McTavish fell out of favor with the cast and network late in the year, their plans began being dismantled. Melissa and A Martinez's Roy (who had become JFP's de facto new leads) began to lose airtime, and then Melissa was written out with her black widow/euthanasia storyline in early 2002 and carted off to prison.
  5. Robert Duncan McNeill (ex-Charlie Brent, AMC) lends his voice to the two-part season finale of Star Trek: Lower Decks. He's previously appeared voicing his longtime character from Star Trek: Voyager, but this one is different (no spoilers).
  6. I just remember them airing a Christmas '85 episode in the early-mid 2000s. It wasn't just a holiday episode, the plots were active. That was my first glimpse of Marland's ATWT, it was deep in the Doug story and it was fascinating. Holden, Lily, etc. were all present.
  7. Maybe he'd already had Seth on the books or tested him? I'll admit I am surprised it didn't go further with Casey, but Seth is hot
  8. It's amazing how the AMPTP keeps making this same mistake. SAG has had a few blunders along the way (the Halloween costume thing) but nothing like the studios' unforced errors.
  9. On a healthier soap there could be more options for Lois potentially. On this show it would leave Sonny which, please no, or a host of recurring losers. And the Ned/Olivia of it all would still be in the background. I have loved LLC since Loving/The City! And I do enjoy her chemistry with Wally, Tristan Rogers, etc. even when the story or character can be unbearable. It makes me forgive a lot. On an unrelated note: It's crass to talk about perhaps, but Stephen Nichols' beautiful tribute to Tyler in that thread reminded me of how much I have missed Stefan. With Tyler gone I would consider retiring the Nikolas character for good. Adam Huss is fine but I'm just not sure I want to see that long-term or how I'd feel about it, or yet another recast. And I would seriously consider doing what Ron Carlivati allegedly wanted to do: Resurrect Stefan and use him as the major domo for Spencer or whatever other Cassadine interest in town going forward, in Nikolas' honor. Is SN even on contract at Days anymore? Certainly if Spencer is recast soon assuming Chavez leaves, the show will need more touchstones for any new actor.

A BBC podcast about the DW "Wilderness Years" will be available in a couple weeks. I hope we are able to find a way to listen to it across the pond.
  11. I love Lisa Lo Cicero and I enjoy Ned/Olivia when they're not too much, but they are just an echo of Ned and Lois. If WK and Rena were willing to play Ned and Lois I'd do it in a heartbeat. Since they're not I see no reason to break that family up.
  12. I saw that. I do remember her from Magnificent Obsession, she was a pistol.

In fairness, looking at the details it seems like it's simply part of a special broadcast event for the anniversary (along with cutting the runtime down) and is not the new normal for that story. So that I can understand, to show "The Daleks" to families at home on an anniversary. The 'Season 1' thing seems a lot murkier as to what is actually happening, but I wouldn't be shocked if it's a word choice Disney asked for to separate things for branding.
  14. Brenda will be back someday. I have no doubt of that. I think Rena is excellent and adds a great deal to the show. But if you can't re-pair her with Ned I struggle to find a place for her on contract. It would remind me of when they tried to put Lois with Lorenzo Alcazar as a C-player in the 2000s, it was embarrassing. I suppose it could be like the UK soaps where they bring back powerhouses often not beholden to supercouples, and just pair them with whoever and often it can work out. But our shows are different, sometimes for better or worse. I think any new story or man for Lois would come off as an also-ran. I also don't think GH or Frank Valentini would invest in giving Lois a major new story or strong enough new male lead to justify it. I think they'd give her some recurring dude like that oaf Yuri. And Rena and her talent would deserve a lot more.

Nice to have this confirmed, but I question if colorization is right for this:
  16. If that's true that's pathetic. They should offer her a contract but Frank doesn't seem to want to add vets too popular for him to control. That being said, I still don't see a point in Lois being there nonstop (versus regular stints) unless it's with Ned, so that's the catch-22.
  17. There's no point in keeping Lois at this point without re-pairing her with Ned, IMO. It would stick out like a sore thumb with Olivia around. And that reunion can't happen, so I'm fine for these stints.
  18. I highly doubt Rena is interested in being back long-term (or playing a romance with Wally again). But who knows.

From one of the new featurettes on the new Whoniverse hub - Tennant watches BTS footage of the Logopolis regeneration.
  20. This is wonderful, thank you.
  21. It's not that deep. I said it before and I'm sure I'm not the only one. Lilley offered her services for the memorial and DAYS foolishly used it as an attempt to leverage and con her into agreeing to a longer return. When she declined Alarr or whoever punitively recast. Stupid as hell.

A lovely new promo (featuring K9 and Company!).

The BBC iPlayer's main Who hub is now online (as shown above), and the Tales from the TARDIS are now being kindly uploaded to YT. These kind uploads may be missing a small bit - I can't seem to find the line fans are talking about where Ace says she has a secret: 'the best is yet to come,' which many are taking as a hint to the Ace spinoff RTD has long wanted to do. But who knows. I'm hearing lovely things about the Five/Tegan and Steven/Vicki short.
  24. Tyler was in recovery despite a lot of pitfalls and stumbles over the last year. It sounds like his death was a result of the outstanding major medical issues he's discussed in recent years, which I assume also had some connection to his addictions.
