  1. Did you guys like Tom better with Erica or Brooke?
  2. That's quite a list! I remember Pam Long saying in a Brandon's Buzz interview that she would hire writers who had been soap actors because of their first-hand knowledge and experience in the genre.
  3. No, by the time Phil was finally killed off, Martin West was playing the role. And yes, that was indeed Judith McConnell, best known to us SB fans as Sophia Capwell, playing Nurse Augusta McLeod.
  4. They could always bring back Jed Allan as Don Craig (who was also one of Julie's suitors back in the day), who was Donna's father. He could complicate things between Doc and John. Donna could be wealthy and buy Salem Place or something. On top of all that, we would finally have closure to why Don never came back after mailing that letter. Rumor has it that Don moved to Santa Barbara, CA, and changed his name to CC Capwell. He was the patriarch of an extremely screwed-up family.
  5. I read that Augusta did indeed deliver Phil Brewer's child when she was in prison and the boy was adopted out. He also had a son (named Tracy) with Diana Maynard. They had become close while Phil was presumed dead, had amnesia, and was using an alias. He learned the truth, and seeing as he was still legally married to Jessie, went back to his wife. Diana had learned she was pregnant and married Dr. Peter Taylor to give her baby a name, but soon their marriage of convenience became a marriage of love. Anyway, baby Tracy was born in 1971 and died shortly after birth from pneumonia. After baby Tracy's death, Phil went berserk and forced himself on Diana, resulting in baby Martha. (Diana never told Peter that Phil was the father, and when the truth came out, they were estranged for awhile.) Eventually, Peter and Diana reconciled and he adopted Martha. Martha was indeed a casualty of the hurricane that hit Port Charles in September 1977. Diana's mother was driving to an emergency shelter and lost control of her car. The grandmother survived, but little Martha succumbed to her injuries. (I found all this out on the GH wikia, by the way.)
  6. Maybe you could look on eBay - that place is a plethora for finding vintage photos.
  7. Thank you both for your observations!! At least both "Travis" and "Mike" reunited with "Erica" on Oprah years later, when Susan Lucci and "All Her Husbands" appeared on an episode.
  8. Those are nice!! CuzIsaySo, Jessie and Phil did have a baby girl, Nancy, who died in infancy. I think he got another woman pregnant at some point but she miscarried.
  9. So I take it you thought Erica was with the wrong Montgomery brother.
  10. Agreed. Tracey Bregman has too much talent to be wasted as she has been on Y&R.
  11. Great job, depboy. John Bernadino was also part of the 1948 Cleveland Indians team that won it all - the last time my home team did so.
  12. Larkin Malloy seemed to have chemistry with just about all his leading ladies in his soap days - from Sharon Gabet on EON and Kim Zimmer on GL to the Susans (Lucci and Pratt) on AMC.
  13. Speaking of Roger Newman, his wife Frannie Myers (Peggy on GL) also became a writer.
  14. There are a few pictures of Gillian as Viki (and Niki) in the OLTL 30th anniversary coffee table book by Gary Warner.
  15. David Cherrill also wrote for The Doctors, and was at the helm with Elizabeth Levin, wife of Michael Levin (Jack Fenelli, RH).
  16. That's a good story idea - and maybe she could be visited by visions of Alan, urging her to fight.
  17. Wow, I didn't know that Sandra Nelson lasted as long as she did on Y&R - I thought she was only on a few months. Did she ever work on soaps before or since?
  18. Yet one more reason Charleson/Damon, separately or in tandem, could absolutely knock it out of the park given decent material. They both should have won Emmys for that story.
  19. Thanks, everyone. I knew Don Hastings did some writing, but he didn't use an alias - at least in the beginning? I also forgot to add Lois Kibbee - who helped Henry Slesar write EON for a few years.
  20. Thank you, Khan. Liza probably would have dominated Alfred in the 90s even after she had matured and softened somewhat.
  21. Was Gillian Spencer (Jennifer) one of the first soap actors to make the transition to soap writer?
  22. Yes!! Here's the page devoted to her books on her website: http://www.harleyjanekozak.com/novels.php
