  1. I don't know about everyone else, but I was sure scratching my head at the pairing of Antonio and Jessica. I don't think they would have done that pairing had Erin stayed.
  2. How long was Charles Frank on AMC? I know he was an original cast member, but I don't know how many years he was on. Did anyone ever see him on the short-lived Emerald Point NAS? (That was a primetime soap set on a Naval base that aspired to be, I think, what Army Wives would become years later.) Other actors on that show included Susan Dey, Richard Dean Anderson and a pre-Santa Barbara Richard Eden.
  3. Thank you, Vee. I think that Torpey and Archer had a very interesting dynamic and it would have been fun to see it continue. She did good work opposite Ilene Kristen as well. As it's been said here before, Torpey had the good sense to bail while the going was still somewhat good.
  4. That's a bummer. The show probably could have gotten many more years' worth of mileage out of Bridget. Who created the character of Bridget? That I don't know.
  5. Kathryn Hays could really spew the venom when the scene called for it. Too bad they didn't utilize that part of Kim that much as the years went by.
  6. Do you guys think Melissa Archer/Natalie would have still emerged as the show's young sweetheart/ingénue had Erin Torpey chosen not to leave?
  7. Leanna Love = Love!! Easily the best of all Barbara Crampton's soap characters.
  8. It looks like he wants to do more than fetch a pail of water. *rimshot* Sorry, I couldn't resist!!!! LOL
  9. Thanks! I am really enjoying all these clips!!
  10. Melissa Hayden did come back briefly before the show ended, right? What was Bridget's arc then?
  11. Why was Bridget written out? Was it Melissa Hayden's choice to leave after she won an Emmy? Didn't she come back briefly before the show ended?
  12. That hair!! Those dresses!! I miss the 80s!!
  13. Yeah, you'd think there'd be looting and all that after the flood. That would have made an interesting subplot.
  14. Like I said before, I liked him a lot in the role and thought he and Nathan Fillion really did look and sound alike enough to pass for brothers.
  15. Great clip - thanks for posting it.
  16. Yes - thank you!! I know that prior to AMC, Mrs. Gabriel appeared a few times on her husband John's show (RH).
  17. LOL!! Thanks.
  18. I love these clips from yesteryear. They show just how good the medium was - and was meant to be.
  19. Yeah, I read that Mary Stuart didn't think it would be realistic for Jo to suddenly pine for Stu after all their years as best (platonic) friends, so she chose to play the jealous angle as a fear that the new lady in Stu's life would monopolize all his time and that she'd lose him as a friend. I thought that was a smart (and believable) way to do it. That is indeed Anita Gillette.
  20. Wow. As an aside, I thought he and Nathan Fillion looked enough alike to really be brothers.
  21. OK, thanks. I know that Cram and Koffman were the bookend Cassies, and I knew Gagnier had been on DAYS, but I wasn't sure if she was the second or third Cassie. I appreciate you clearing it up for me!!
  22. That's too bad about Mary Frann because I know the Newhart cast absolutely adored her. Maybe she found sitcom work and the pace of it better suited for her, and thus was more mellow? Speaking of Mary Frann, she was in one of my favorite cheesy 80s movies of all-time, Dance 'Til Dawn (1988), about the prom night in one little town and how it affects both the kids AND the parents. Ms. Frann played the wife of Cliff DeYoung and the mother of Christina Applegate!! Another soap alum (an Emmy-winning soap alum, at that) who had a prominent role in the flick was Brian Bloom (the first Dusty on ATWT) - who broke up with the popular Alyssa Milano character and asked the nerdy Tracey Gold character to prom in the hope of, ahem, making prom night a "special night". Has anyone else ever seen this? Trust me, Kelsey Grammer (who himself had a stint as a doctor on AW shortly before joining Cheers) and Edie McClurg as Tracey Gold's parents alone make this movie worth watching!!!
