The Doctors Discussion Thread
I think Gil Gerard/Alan leaves the show around the time Gerald Gordon makes his brief return (beginning with the 90-minute special).

Maybe they would have accepted someone like Sherry Mathis as a Jill-like character. Nancy WAS Jill. I too doubt that the audience would have accepted anyone else in the role.

I guess that's one plus the Emmys has not being on TV and airing over the Web. They don't seem to be pressed for time and have more creative control/freedom. Good for them for acknowledging Ms. Drew.

Still, it's a great pic. Always great to see old soap pals reunited. 😊

Wow, I can't even imagine a recast Jill. I'm still glad she came back for the show's final episodes.

With a defense team like this, who needs enemies (and who deserves a team like this more than Cosby)? https://www.google.com/amp/s/abcnews.go.com/amp/US/bill-cosbys-defense-teams-vicious-strategy-backfired-analysis/story%3fid=54784938

All My Children Tribute Thread
Steve Fletcher lost a bet with either then-girlfriend Nana Tucker Visitor or her brother. They were playing winter sports, and he had to legally change his last name to Blizzard. The name was on his driver's license, credit cards, etc. Once the two broke up, he legally changed his last name back to Fletcher. Fun fact - I just finished reading the autobiography of Ruth Pointer of the Pointer Sisters. She named one of her dogs after her favorite AMC character - Langley Wallingford. 😊😎❤

The 90-minute special originally aired on March 15, 1976. Right now, Retro is in the November 1975 episodes.

You really have to give it up for Keith Blanchard, who was one of the best juvenile actors I've ever seen on a soap. He's now a journalist.

I don't, either. I hope she will be able to stop blaming herself.

I love how he said that he was speaking out now to save his family from more embarrassment. That ship sailed a loooooooooong time ago, Matt!!

At least Retro TV's rerunning of The Doctors gives us a glimpse into the heyday of soaps.

ALL: Proposed Soaps Over The Years
I'm not sure, but she wrote in the note that her mother had indeed received and read my letter with the intention of replying, but it got lost under other mail and papers. It wasn't found under after Claire had passed.

Did Taylor Miller have romantic chemistry with any of her other male AMC co-stars?

ALL: Proposed Soaps Over The Years
Yes. I had a sweet note from Eleanor and she enclosed a couple of RH photos. I had actually written to Claire, but Eleanor explained that the letter had been misplaced under other correspondence and wasn't recovered until after Claire passed. Eleanor assured me that Claire had read my letter and had every intention of replying but passed on before she could.

As good an actor as Armand Assante is, he was just as miscast as Michael Landrum. They should never have let Peter Burnell go. He was the definitive Mike.
