  1. It would be completely consistent for the Salem PD if all of their new hires, Goldman, Harris, and the new guy, were involved in criminal conspiracies. Maybe Jada and Rafe shouldn't be able to date if they are this distracted from the supervisory duties? 😉 Also, how does Harris still have friends in the Navy SEALS? And, why do Navy SEALS know how to decrypt a drug diary? One website questioned if this was Harris's last episode. If so, even though he was shirtless more often than he's been for a decade on GH, he's going out with a whimper.
  2. For example, we still don't know the third culprit in Clyde's scheme. Goldman shot at Lucas, as evidenced by the pain in her ribs after she was shot by Kate. Stefan shot Harris. But, who started the fire?
  3. To be fair, there was that one time that Marlena forced Maggie to drink and then killed her on Halloween, so some distance would be expected, even after all this time 😉
  4. We still don't know. Clyde took credit. However, the planning of the assaults on Lucas and Harris, as well as the fire at The Horton House have yet to be revealed. BTW, it is an indication of how block storytelling messes with continuity that even @AbcNbc247 ,who diligently watches every day, has difficulty recalling the facts from five months ago.
  5. I'm not a Daytime Emmy enthusiast, especially during mid-80s to early 90s, when it seemed like a corrupt system. However, it would be a shame if Beverly McKinsey was never recognized for her bravura performance during her Country Club speech when she was eviscerating Roger (year unknown to me). I am reminded of a funny anecdote that Louise Shaffer told in the recent oral history of Ryan's Hope. She noted that she kept losing the award or the nomination, while others in her cast received multiple nods. But, when her husband reviewed the scenes that she submitted, he questioned why she always chose scenes that highlighted her co-stars. To which she was forced to admit that usually selected to submit those scenes where she felt that that her legs or hair looked good, and ignored the context. The moral of which is that there are probably multiple reasons why actors were not given academy recognition. And today, it may be more of a salute that an average of 21,000 people have watched Ms McKinsey's scene on YouTube in the 17 years since it was posted, versus winning some cheap statuette.
  6. @carolinegSorry, it did crash. The mystery was why did Victor go to Greece without telling anyone or filing a flight plan. Here's what I'm confused about today: I assumed Clyde told Stefon to shoot Harris and set up Xander. If that's true, why doesn't Stefon just tell Xander the truth? He's got nothing to lose, and it could make Xander an ally. Because doesn't Xander know that it was EJ who first made him an offer to be a hitman? Like, they have a common enemy if they would work together.
  7. I don't think the plane crashed, but his final flight was unexpected and nobody knew where he was going because the flight plan changed. Thus, everyone thought the plane had disappeared, but they found the plane and Victor had died. Then John and Steve figured out that he went to Greece. But, I could be 100% incorrect. I assumed the implication was that he was going to Greece to tell the mother of his heir that he was changing his will, or to show her that he changed the will. But, we still don't know the reason that he flew to Greece.
  8. Dialogue aside, I miss the promise of what Tate and Holly represented in their premiere week. Tate was a rebel on the outside, but he was just emerging from his cloistered world into more public spaces. He was nasty to his parents, but still able to be surprised by what other high schoolers were doing. Holly was smoking doobies and flirting with older men, while maintaining the aura of innocence. Chanel had her number, but everyone else just thought she was sweet and reliable. Where are those two crazy kids? And why have they been replaced by starry-eyed teens who think of nothing but clandestine texting? One OD, and a couple of weeks at wilderness training, and they've lost their edge.
  9. I've dismissed concerns in the past, but Tate definitely looked too old for high school today. Are we to assume that they're juniors because they are getting ready to apply to college? Tate went to a good boarding school, so I don't think he'll need to worry about extracurricular activities. But, he should demand a letter of rec from EJ, considering he won't get one from his former school. Also, I appreciated the talk about student loans, it felt contemporary. Although paying for college is probably not one of Tate's concerns. @AbcNbc247 mentioned that people were smart yesterday, but today, Ava and Harris don't seem to know when they have the upper hand on Clyde. The book is evidence that he dealt drugs. Tripp is off on vacation, so there's no threat. Thus, there is no reason to give the book to Clyde. Harris especially should know better.
  10. I enjoy Ms. McKinsey's slightly southern lilt to her voice. Especially when she is being either flirtatious or angry. And it was always present in scenes with HB or Billy. In fact, I think it is funny that many bring up her AW's recast having an Aussie accent, when Alex's sweet-as-pie drawl was never explained in relation to the rest of the Spauldings. Most of whom sounded nothing like her. For example, Alex never seemed to have been raised on the same continent as Daniel Pilon when he played Alan.
  11. But the question with regard to the book is did people think that in 1975, or is that a 2024 interpretation in hindsight? Of course this is purely rhetorical, because we don't have a time machine, and I can't find a 1975 review that mentions the concern.
  12. I'm a fan and I enjoy him, so I don't want to get into a lets-be-mean-to-Ron C fiesta (again). My quibble is that his structure is always to hide information for a big reveal, rather than taking us along for the ride so that we can see the motives and understand the evolution.
  13. The defense keeps trying to paint Daniels and her lawyer as shake down artists. But, I just keep wishing she'd say, “OK, maybe we were trying to get a pay off, but does that excuse Trump from using election funds and then trying to hide it from federal authorities?” It's like you can't justify robbing a bank to pay off a con artist.
  14. I'm pleased John and Steve got back together. Once again, I overcomplicated my expectation. I assumed that John switched out the card when Thomas stole it from Konstantin. I wasn't expecting that an entire plan occurred off-screen. I guess that's how we know Ron C is back, he hates to fill the audience in on the plan. Which is my theory about why there is so much animosity between the writer and the fans. Besides his questionable attitude on social media, he always wants to shock us, rather than allow us to feel as if we are clued into the action. Any hoo, it is surprising that Alex prefers sleeping with Kristen over Theresa. I wonder what tricks she's got up her sleeve? Finally, I guess nobody on DAYS bothered to Google probate. Because once the money in an estate is disbursed, it is virtually impossible to gather it back and give it to someone else. Even in the case of fraud, if the issue was not considered during probate, it is difficult to demand that people give the money back to the estate. Especially in a case like this where the heir was not a part of the fraud. Others can civilly sue after the fact, but they are rarely successful.
  15. Unless, they are doing it for the money, after bad divorces, and other poor life choices, which just makes it even sadder.
  16. @carolineg That's why it is funny to me when people create conspiracies about why the Bo & Hope reunion was cut short. In fact, it was more likely because their parking meter ran out and production couldn't spare the extra quarter.😉
  17. It is notable that if a table at the Met Gala goes for $350,000, that is most likely more than the annual salary of many long term actors on DAYS. Especially, given that according to her lawsuit, production asked Arianne Zucker, a 25-year vet, to take a pay cut to under six figures. In fact, TIL in 2023 they cut her travel expense, gave AA a raise, and did not ask any of her male co-stars to take a pay cut.
  18. Yeah, but I'd also be OK with Temp-Sloan if the character continues. Just so that she and Tate (who date IRL) can carpool to work. Given, my freeway commute, I am always up for less traffic.
  19. She upgraded. Since Top Model, she she was engaged to Kaan Gunay, the billionaire owner of the Firefly ad agency, Milutin Gatsby, a billionaire film producer, James Packer, the billionaire Australian media owner and former flame of Mariah Carey, Logan Paul, and Ed Westwick. So, 4/6 of her engagements were to billionaires. Her current husband's family owns Luxottica which manufactures most designer sunglasses, Chanel, Prada, D&G, etc…
  20. Jessica Serfaty (aka Sloan) repping Ray Ban at the Mat Gala 2024, her billionaire husband's family owns the brand - and they bought a table for $350,000.00 It's a lot! But, I don't hate it as it on theme for Garden of Time custom couture by Dolce & Gabbana. However, the billionaire should not have worn a clashing shade of red; in my opinion.
  21. To me, it seems like a very curable form of DID. We know Everett's father was horrible. He is probably taking on that personality. And Marlena will cure that up, quick as 1-2-3. Why has it taken Jada a month to move into Rafe's place? My biggest quibble is that I hate when DAYS ends on a Friday cliffhanger (eg EJ and Sloan), and then doesn't pick it up immediately on Monday. It throws off the pacing. Also, I thought the red herring about EJ writing on the DNA results in the safe would lead to more stories. I mean, at some point isn't anyone at the hospital going to question why Jude has been genetically tested three times already? Post Note: Jessica Serfaty went to the Met Gala with her billionaire husband - pics in the DAYS BTS thread
  22. @dc11786 I watched 1991, and more recently read the plot summaries. One issue that stuck with me was Bobbie's return to the hospital. It was a big deal when she left during the adoption story. Then, suddenly, she returned, just in time for Bill's injury and hospitalization. Similarly, I recall a rift between Bobbie and Ruby over Bobbie's myopic view toward the adoption. Then, it is suddenly repaired when Bobbie calls Ruby to come to GH to look at Bill. Ruby then has the unenviable job of explaining how the Eckarts have always lived in Port Charles, but they never spoke to the Spencers because of conflict between the two families. (no mention of whether the Eckarts were p.o.'ed that they never got to meet Liz Taylor 😉). There's also no reconciliation between Angela and Ruby that I recall, they just get over it. Was the change in Bobbie's circumstance and demeanor as abrupt as I remember? Also, I recall Bobbie being in her nurse's uniform when she met Bill. However, I seem to remember that she and the student nurses more often wore scrubs, rather than white dresses and hats, prior to Monty's return. is that correct?
  23. TIL - from the NYT wedding announcement of Marcia McCabe and Chris Goutman (of course, they've divorced since) - She is a granddaughter of the late Thomas Bayard McCabe, chairman of the Scott Paper Company, and of the late Arthur H. Motley, president and publisher of Parade Publications. That's quite a pedigree. And @Mona Kane Croft, keep on truckin'. Those who ignore you are missing out. I mean, the show's been cancelled for 25 years, if we're not going to talk about the specifics of history, what's left to discuss?
  24. @MaximI'm so glad that you're enjoying it, and envious at being able to watch it for the first time. Isn't it remarkable the number of stories being juggled in a half hour show? To me, the idea that drew me to EON is the way in which stories are interwoven. You begin to think that a plot only involves a single set of characters, but all of a sudden others are drawn in, and you feel the impact of the event on their society. The way in which plots don't just have a beginning, middle, and end, but they evolve into other stories is captivating. And the audacity to have Raven leave, mid-episode, not even on a Friday cliffhanger, is a choice that one would never see today.
