General Hospital: November 2022 Discussion Thread
Oh how I miss the child of the corn. While on one hand I am starting to wonder about Sprina as well...that feeling about being sway about it will depend on what happens when Spencer gets out of jail. Why? Because I will now expect that when Spencer gets out of jail, SOMETHING ELSE will happen to keep them apart. That appears to be their cycle as things have gone on. They were about to kiss...Esme appears. Spencer gets free from Esme...only for Esme's revenge on Trina keeping her away from him. Trina gets cleared...Spencer gets arrested AND Rory gets together with Trina. And that just goes on and on. On one hand, I could say in soap terms, it has been surprisingly well done WHEN FOCUSED ON. It harks back to the old soap days actually. HOWEVER, given the fact they have only kissed in fantasy and not for real or had any kind of relief of tension for the fans...yeah, I can see why one would side-eye. Now as for Chicken Little and the like, it's not so much crazy. It's the fact that on what soaps remain...let's call a spade a spade...there's been errs and flows and very little to like at times. And while it really should be different, that does not take away from people finding moments or even people who they like. We see characters in and out every day when we are growing up. We were just talking about in the B&B thread last month about family members who don't watch anymore who will still ask about said characters or actors/actresses after a long time of not viewing. Still mildly interested...but no longer watching. So if people see a spark...no matter how long that spark will be there...why not just enjoy? Even if the rug is going to be pulled out from under them. While we can assume the worst, nothing wrong with hoping for the best. Speaking of myself, I openly said when GV was leaving DAYS right as he and Nicole were finally getting together irking Brady to the dark side, that I planned to enjoy that whole week they were together. And look at them now a DECADE later (I don't have Peacock but kinda keep up) still circling each other. See? Hope. And to bring another example for myself...this Liz storyline. I loved that Liz and Cameron spoke up for Liz and how she does not need anyone. She doesn't. She shouldn't. However it is to be expected that at some point, she won't be the center of her own story. History has shown us that the regime like putting her with these pets. It sadly can be expected. BUT that doesn't take away from me enjoying seeing her or the actress that plays her. Should it be better? For a legacy character DUH. Naysay all one wants to, but I'll take what good moments I can rather than look for the falling sky.

11-7 Yeah, I'm going to have to disagree. At least to the Chance/Abby angle of this whole mess. They been setting up a growing potential problem for a while now I feel. Abby was already on him for his time at work...especially because he almost did not say her family during that Ashland coverup. Then she was either always at work, or he was at work. So the writers started to give them sexy time...fine with me since I liked Chance's body. hehe. I could even say they started to hint a bit at Devon/Abby and Chance noticing their closeness and showing a hint of jealousy in at least two scenes. So at least with Chance/Abby...there was SOME build. Now...Devon...yeeeeeeah, I guess with all of these Neil flashbacks...which as a man who has lost his father around this time of year I have been LOVING if a bit triggering...the writers were trying to say that Devon was feeling a moment of weakness and wanted comforting. But still...that still feels odd for him. Funnily enough that is not the first time for him though so this would be in character for him. And it is also within Abby's character to act out, too. Sorry. I loved Harrison asking for his DeeDee to come with him and it wiped the smug look off Summer's face. And yes, Diane, you better smirk at Giggly Heffa 2. I am sorry to see Summer take her mom's side because that will make things worse. For her and Kyle. I never thought I would see the day where I was happy to see Michael. But that might be because he brought Lauren with him. And I love we all remember Michael and Diane are friends. Yeah, I also have been enjoying their chemistry as well. But would they go there?

Bravo's The Real Housewives of....
NY Well, it's official...she's out of there!!! RHOM It would appear that Bravo released some of the BravoCon panels so I watched the RHOM one. And it sounds like Alexia's telenovela continues...it sounds like she was saying without saying we might see Peter's father. Intrigued. DURBAN Has been moved off Tubi and Bravo is actually showing it right now on Fridays now that ALL STARS 2 is done. Since I see the first three episodes, will probably watch.

Bravo's The Real Housewives of....
SLC This chaotic trainwreck. Just wanted to make a quick note to @Cat that as expected by us that this week began the narrative of Heather setting up to come across as the Betrayed Friend of Jen when they eventually get around to Jen's drama. She was backing Angie H, was being sorry, not sorry to Jen, and basically killed her in the Confessional. Yes, we saw her. As for this episode, how are any of these girls friends? lol. They might have been friends in Season 1, but this episode definitely seem more about alliances. Or just high school. Cuz Bad Weather fighting over Lisa? Well, she is fabulous, but still...lol. I enjoyed the battle of the Angies. I enjoyed Jen being activated. And this episode had some interesting day in the life housewife moments (hmmm Seth likes what?, Lisa has family, the waiter upselling Lisa's tequila not knowing who he is talking to). And that last scene with Bad Weather...felt more like two ladies battling for control of the show's narrative than a cousin quarrel. Very telling. And next week looks like the Housewives will be at the Omnia hotel here in San Diego which I've lived by, applied for work at, and had a nice 'divorce' settlement from with my Russian Ex. Also looks like the beginning of Danna vs Jen which I am here for. JEN. A clocked in Jen is an entertaining Jen. Her going off on Angie K. Her going off on Angie H. Her throwing shade at Heather. Her worrying about it to Coach Shah. And we also still got some fun Jen at the start before all the drama. But I cannot help but feel this episode was the start of Production (that 'Amazing Grace' song in the middle of her yelling she's innocent at Angie H was hilarious) and the cast FINALLY coming for her....something they should have started doing last season. Jen...you about to be in the Hot Seat, Girl!!!! But hey...she will have a few feuds to keep us busy now so yay!!! LISA. Well darn, Fabulous Ice!!! All these girls have her name on their lips!!! Stay fabulous!!! She was in top form this week and reminded me why I liked her so much Season 1. Her feud with Angie H continues to get some traction and she had Jen's back on that...so much so Angie H had to deflect by bringing up Lisa, Heather, and the tweet...good move on Angie's part and the sign of a good rival. Shame she let Heather derail her going off. I loved she gave us a relevation with her singing. And I liked her having dinner with her husband. Stressed...where? She was living her life and #winning THIS WEEK. MEREDITH. She felt like such a sidekick this episode. Though...mmmmm Seth. And he likes WHAT??? Well...HELL-HO. lol HEATHER. She was doing so well. In the breakup of Bad Weather, Heather was coming across as the one with common sense. Meanwhile, Little Girl was doing waaaaaaaaaaaaaay too much. But this week? No, ma'am. I've always said she was a more subtle version of Jen, but she was not subtle at all. Isn't this whole choir thing just an excuse to have a storyline? And now that Fabulous Ice produced receipts, the storyline with their feud over the tweet is dead so her harping on it is just as dead. Even Little Girl can see it and has jumped ship. Meanwhile, irking Jen by allying with Angie H was not a good look at all. At least she saw the mistake she made on that. Too late? And finally, that whole last conversation with Little Girl makes me mad because I found myself taking Little Girl's side when I was Team Heather. Little Girl clocked you. Well, you clocked each other on having dueling narratives. Very telling. LITTLE GIRL. Lint. So...good episode. Shockingly.

RIP: In Memoriam Thread
A whole generation mourns. This also really hits due to his start on X-men limited series and him springing onto EXCALIBUR for Warren Ellis's legendary run where he took the group from has been to a relevant branch of the X-MEN tree. Not to mention I loved the introduction of the London branch of the Hellfire Club (London's Burning indeed) and he designed some updated outfits for Nightcrawler and Meggan that artistically rocked.

11-1 LIZ, YOUUUUUUUUUU....BETTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTERRRRRRRRRRRRRR...READ!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! That was worth the wait for me. She read her parents all the way down. And the moment where she was going to leave, stops, and goes back to confront them. RH's acting, her naunces, and her body language in the door was EVERYTHING. From what I know and seen of Jeff Webber, I think his recast has it down pat as well. I know at any moment, the story might get snatched away from Liz so I'm looking for it being focused...for now...ONLY...ON...HER. LAURA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! FINALLY. Now this Victory storyline can get ready to go, go, go. And dare I say it, Kevin was looking kinda FOINE in that priest suit. Don't hate me. I don't at all like Jake/Carly. That said...I do like they are taking their time revealing it to the people who might (probably will) react to it. Sonny. Sam. Probably Nina. Should be fun. Holly's up to her old tricks? Okay...intrigued. I feel AM is doing a good job so far. Or at least felt like Heather in terms of the dialogue she had last she was on.

11-2 Oh shut up, Giggly Heffa. Just ugh...at her being with glee and trying to be sure Diane can't repair the damage by tracking down Jack. Jack who isn't even with her anymore. SMH. Summer looked like she was ready to disown her on the spot for lying to her. And given how good the scenes I watched between Hope and Liam were as they argued, I can say the same for the scenes between Abby and Chance. I know we don't talk about MO in a good light here, but I thought she did a good job with those scenes. It was written all over her face that Abby was about to get upset that it was funny Chance did not see it as soon as he told her the stakeout was over already. Just smh. And given he felt some way about seeing her comfort Devon and what little I saw above...oops on me. lol....I'm looking forward to what sounds like some fun mess. You know? For a moment there during Chelesa's suicide attempt, it occurred to me that it would be interesting to see Billy/Chelesa/Adam/Lily going forward. I had forgotten that Lily has some history with Adam and does not like him and Lily is at her best when she is hating someone. Victoria, Hillary come to mind. I could be down for a hate relationship since Adam and Sally are on the outs. BT and MCE did such a great job with those scenes. I wanted to shake Adam for making those scenes about himself. I liked Devon clocking Victoria as the mastermind behind the takedown. And Victoria hid it well.

And reading part of the article I am sickened. I don't see how she can. However, I guess the real question is...what's truly more important to Giz...her long standing friendship with her fellow Green Eyed Bandit...or keeping her flute by being messy...and this...is a mess.

11-3 THANK YOU, CAMERAMAN FOR 11-2. I didn't know SC was packing like THAT. I liked the fashion show. It was not perfect by any means. Those repeat re-walks...yeeeah...no. It got better at how they did it so I will give them that. And I liked how the whole show found ways to build up tension among Liam/Hope/Thomas. Speaking of...I actually liked seeing some drama for Liam and Hope. It's been a minute, but that argument in Hope's office was pretty good. And I like the 'Beth reveal' flashback. And speaking of flashbacks...I LOVED Sheila's flashback Halloween episode. I hope that was foreshadowing that Lauren would be popping up again. I was disappointed that Lauren found out she was alive off screen though. KB is a force and I'm looking forward to her next part of her arc.

Bravo's The Real Housewives of....
BH I definitely wanted a rewatch before I posted about that last part. I have to give credit where credit is due, but that was a good reunion. And it will be interesting to see where they all go from here. And the comparisons to POTOMAC's Season 5 reunion are apt. It was raw and a bit dark, and there was no resolution. I did like that it was clear that Andy could not play favorites in this part because even REAL Kathy Hilton has the network by the balls. Honorable mention to him FINALLY dragging EricFake a bit during his questioning. I saw a few clips from last year's reunion and how he was softballing her, but I did not feel that here...almost like payback for her thinking she could talk mess to him in the first two parts. I also wanted to rewatch for the pre-Kathy-enters part. Garcelle was really the MVP for Part 1 going after everyone and destroying Lint. But she was disrespected in Part 2. And it was good to see her confront EricFake and the ladies (thank you for the assist, Andy, by being messy and bringing up Kyle/Dorit kiki over the EricFake/Jax bday thing) head on, and give some hard truths to them. Actually between her and Andy going at EricFake, she FINALLY cracked and showed some remorse and I saw ERIKA. It's been a loooooong time. And I, for the first time since this mess started, felt like I understood where she was coming for. She felt...real...for once. Not faking it. The main course was Kathy vs Ex Soap Opera Star. And that was SPECTUALUAR. To keep it real, those of us who watched for a looong time know of Kathy's reputation, so it was odd to see her be this goofy persona. A fun persona, but goofy all the same. But make no mistake...the circles she runs in, the power those circles have, the power SHE has...it would be unwise to cross her. And THAT was what Ex Soap Opera Star did. Not a wannabe. Not a has been. Not even wealth that yells. It's wealth that WHISPERS. And to think Kathy only gave a SMALL PORTION of the power she weaves and still destroyed Ex Soap Opera Star should have been Ex Soap Opera Star's sign to stop while she was ahead. And she had time to drop tea on Erika as well. Was she perfect? No. They got some licks in on her, but she still triumphed. And if that deleted scene is true and Kyle MIGHT have been behind all of this, then it was within Kathy's right to give her dust. She made accommodations for Kyle since Denise was around and that was how Kyle thanks her? And since it has been clear for decades this family is a secretive one. She will probably deal with Kyle accordingly so yes, Kyle should cry. Payback is a dish... KYLE. Do I think there was some truth in the tears? Perhaps. But any true sympathy went out the window when she snapped on Dorit. A hit dog will holler, and clearly Dorit was right. She was helping her to see her way out of that mess and Kyle CHOSE to play victim...something Kathy also called her out on. She's not completely innocent and for that reason, I cannot be sympathetic to her. Empathy maybe. But sympathetic...no. The fact that her only concern was if Kathy would be at that wedding rather than are they okay I felt was telling. DORIT. She didn't do much this part, but what she did counted. She was playing peacemaker between Kyle and Kathy. And I felt she spoke nothing, but truth. I don't know what happened in the Richards sisters' past that it was not clicking with Kyle, but Dorit translated easily what Kathy was trying to say. This was the time for Kyle to do something that she tries her best NOT to do: take accountability. But alas. ERIKA. YES, I said ERIKA. I was shocked to admit it since I loathe her. But Erika FINALLY showed an emotion. I felt for the first time she articulated (except for that bad airplane allgory) where she was coming from. And FINALLY I felt Andy did his job and gripped her enough that no amount of sass she was giving him was working on him. And in hindsight as someone pointed out to me, it felt like she was owning her villain edit, and I cannot fault her for it. She's darned if she did, she's darned if she does not. He even said it best when he said to her...it's not landing. Which was the point. She might not care about the group and how they see the things she's doing, but she does care. And I thought those tears were actual real tears. That said...the tea Kathy was dropping on her was delicious. Erika is not the first HW who rents things. Usually it's houses. But items...not far-fetched. Anyone remember the episode of SATC where Samantha was trying to rent a Birkin? Same thing. Kathy saying in so many words and so many ways that Erika was a broke hoe without saying the words was payback. LOVE it. CRYSTAL. Silent this time around. Odd since it was her and Garcelle that caused Erika to have her Aspen meltdown. SUTTON. Also silent, but we at least had her and Garcelle as Reaction Greek Chrous as Kathy tore Ex Soap Opera Star and Erika apart. GARCELLE. I did not like how she was treated in Part 2, but she stood in her truth still. And I loved her speaking so much truth to that Coven. YES, KYLE, IT'S TRUE, IT'S TRUE. If it had been HER child or anyone in the Coven, there would be no ki-ki-ing about how Erika was 'only' cutting loose. They would have made it a whoooole storyline. They all know it. Now, Dorit, why did you not talk to Erika ON CAMERA or do anything IN THE MOMENT? Ex Soap Opera Star, Candiace from RHOP has NOTHING on your disasterous social media skills. YES, YOU. And to ALL OF THEM, what's the point of an apology if they either have not learned OR WORSE, it would only come up again later? That has been their thing for seasons. I also loved her reaction shots during Kathy vs Dumb&Dumber. OOooooo her look when Kathy clocked Erika about her credibility. And her look when Kim and LVP were mentioned. And the 'ooo' when Kathy mentioned Ex Soap Opera Star's contract was coming up and her look in unison with Sutton. And because she's a class act, I liked her reaching out to Victim Kyle. LINT. EX SOAP OPERA STAR. Well ironically, I believe she said it best. If looks could kill, when Kathy walked out, she would be ash. And shots fired when Kathy said 'hey, GIRLS.' Yes, GIRLS. You wanted to deal with the big dogs...HERE...WE...ARE. And I liked how Kathy slowly but surely took her goofy persona and let it melt away to show REAL Kathy. Two minutes in and she shaded Ex Soap Opera Star's social media. She owned her crap over the tequila. And then she TORE...HER...APART. And Taoboi was HERE...FOR...IT. For seasons, she's gone after friends, family, and the like for a storyline. Perhaps she thought Kathy would be like Kyle. She was WRONG. Kathy has a brand and a family. The fact there was an HR investigation that the cast didn't even know about was telling. And just like Kim, Kathy got in a shot at Ex Soap Opera Star's personal life. And it was a joy to see Kathy backing Kim LIKE A REAL SISTER. And then...Ex Soap Opera Star wanted to act like she was the bully and use triggered words. Kathy set her straight reeeal quick. She is LONG OVERDUE time to leave...or have a takedown season. Overall, good reunion. Better than last year where I walked off. However, there was no resolution and it has hit peak toxicity. Time for some changes. I just think it's sad that this past year so many HW shows have gotten to a point that they have been put on pause to retool...when it's clear what needs to be done in some cases. I hope they can be as careful in retooling as they were with RHOA...which I liked...and I'm LOOONG OVERDUE to watch THEIR reunion. lol. I thought a good job was done there and early reports promise a great season.

Bravo's The Real Housewives of....
POTOMAC OMG!!! IT'S HAPPENING!!! I just saw that and rolled my eyes. Of course, Crystal is on the chopping board. Kyle's making them lunch meetings. 😜 I could actually see LVP back in scenes with Garcelle next season since they are associates now and Garcelle already filmed for VPR this forthcoming season. Ex Soap Opera Star continues to destroy herself online. LET...THE...MOUSE...GO. They ain't mentioned because they are safe. Good. Sutton was the show. Kyle ain't going anywhere. Garcelle is Queen. And honestly, after this past reunion (working on my thoughts right now), I want to see Erika WITHOUT Ex Soap Opera Star. Over Dumb and Dumber and Erika has proven she will take the Villain role and run with it. So...let's play.
