What in the world was THAT?

When I heard that Sharon was going to get an episode, I admit that I was excited. A story about Sharon? Perhaps some flashbacks? Especially looking at the synopsis for the episode?

I will give it that it started promisingly enough. But it turned into a mess by the time they re-enacted that silly performance of Nick/Sharon 5 Year Ago Breakup. Though I did like Mal Young's version of Sharon and him repairing her after years of character destruction. 'Mess with me, and YOU'RE be the one left in a puddle' Sharon still lives rent-free in my head from that period...and I grew to loathe Mal Young.

And it was all about what? Her going after Nick again? Not that I'm not a Nick/Sharon fan, but even this silly episode pointed out that she loved him more than he loved her and he has always hurt her. It was nice to see that acknowledged for sure. But unless, the show is about to get cancelled, I have actually grown to enjoy Nick and Sharon apart.

I also expected more of a fight between her and Summer over Chance. But alas. I did like how she did the breakup though.

But...where does Sharon go from here? Or is she just going to fade into the background since she's the Elizabeth Webber of Y&R?

Did she lie though? Mary pretty much said the same thing on WWHL when Andy asked her why she came back. Season 3 was HORRIBLE! Bravohas to know that and the ONLY reason anyone is talking about season 4 is bc of Monica. PERIODT! She and Mary put eyes on this show nad have been involved in all the viral moments

    THIS.

I went back and watched that scene where Monica talked about auditioning so apologies because I thought Monica had said it word for word, but I agree with you. I didn't factor in that it was a process (we all remember the OTHER women who almost joined this season?) so Monica might have done it in stages and MIGHT have said that and Production is trying to discredit her. So...

Monica lying (or embellishing) is nothing new to me at this point. All these women on all these shows lie. Why should she be the exception? I just find her to be entertaining how she makes these women squirm.

And Meredith can't take a moral high ground as she was pro-Jen last year. Same with Heather. Same with Lisa back in season 1. Same with Whitney back in season 2. Mary is the only consistent woman of the current bunch that never bought what Jen was selling.

    THIS, too. +1

Monica is a true force multiplier and I equat her to Tamra and Kenya, both of whom completely changed the game on their respective shows. She activates people and there is a genuine reason for the dislike. I need more of her

    Also THIS.

Watched Kim’s cameo. She looked great, still had her Samantha vibe, and got paid a fortune.

SJP really struggled to convey any warmth. You can tell she hated that HBO mandated that cameo.

That reminds me that I've been on the fence about watching.

That said...SJP better hope that the rumors of KC returning pre-writers strike for the following season are untrue then.

I thought that was a good start to the reunion.

If I was honest...I would say the ones who came out well...or perhaps the word I should use is performed well...was Monica, Meredith, and Angie K. Yes, I'm sincere on that last one. Ever since this morning when they dropped the Meredith clip, I knew she would do well. She was the heroine of this show after all. LOL. But I just giggle at how these ladies keep forgetting she has a LAW degree. So they have to aim correct in order to get her. So watching Meredith wiggle out of their attempts to bait her with verbatim wording AND the receipts to back it up is hilarious. Even everything Monica said so far tonight has tracked as well and so far she's not flinching either...even with that lame attempt by Gizelle...I mean Heather...with the recording...I'll get into that in a sec. And then Angie K...honestly...for all that was dished at her tonight...I have to give her her due that I felt she at least was putting up a serious fight and explain herself well except for ONE thing...that really blows her out of the water when one things of it.

And I'm already looking forward to Monica activating Mary next week.

MONICA. I'm just going to go ahead and start with her. They haven't really even touched on the finale yet, but but I felt she came across well. Why? Because she did what she has done (outside of the RVT reveal) since she started...be transparent. Her revealing she emailed/auditioned Production to be on the show...and Production backing her with the rollback word-for-word...was telling...and TRUE. Cuz did anyone like Season 3? Also she said what she said about Jen's case at the start of the season so her correcting Andy tracked. And yes, she lied about the video recording Gizelle...I mean Heather played about Kim K. But...she OWNED that...and didn't even flinch. No one...and I do mean NO ONE...has a moral leg to stand on in any HW group (especially that one) when they are in it for the same thing...exposure that can (hopefully) lead to fame and fortune. If anything, she did it BETTER than anyone in that group and simply put...creepy though she may be...that is truly the REAL reason why they seem bothered....when they should be bothered by 1) the lengths she went to and 2) that she IS NOT the only one. I mean...Gizelle...I mean Heather...still has her hairstylist. So...*shrugs* I loved she gathered Angie K throughout...so much so Angie K aimed at her kids. And I did not like that when she was actually being sincere, owning and apologizing to Lisa for misunderstanding the ring incident, everyone tried to jump on her. I was like...she was having a real moment and you all were mad that she was not giving you all one. Then you are going to be mad when she checks you all. She is darned if you do, darned if you don't.

MEREDITH. Heroine until the last. I thought she gave a good performance as well. I thought it was interesting that they were trying to attack her for her responses to things. And she was being forthright about her thoughts. And that resonated to me. I spent most of the last year dealing with fake friends and unnecessary drama. And what I learned from it was that the real friends are most likely going to pull you aside or (in the case of a show) will pull you aside for one on one. The point Meredith made was the real ones did try to talk to her. The fake ones...did not. And that made all the difference in how she engages or disengages. I would (and have) do (done) the same. Sometimes it's about your own truth and your own peace. Moreso why I hollered when she corrected Little Girl on perception and reality. And Meredith displaying that law degree with her wordplay with Monica's background commentary was chef's kiss to me.

ANGIE K. She was dragged right and left, wasn't she? Outside of the false note of bring up kids, I thought she did well. And going back to what I said above...there was the one thing. She said tonight that the husband rumor started 30 years ago. So that means that EVERYONE had talked about it. As in the whole group. So why such a reaction during the season at all? After people have talked about it for so long, it should be easy to navigate it at this point or give it no air at all. I thought that was too telling.

LISA. Honestly? Irrelevant. I am glad Production did the rollback of her talking to Heather about the ring. But here's my thing...a lot of the Lisa vs Monica mess could have been solved if she had explained that to Monica as well in the same way she did tonight. And yes, my Fabulous Ice, you DO make everything about you. Little Girl was not wrong on that. Just own it. The fact she does not anymore really is why I no longer like her like I used to. Speaking of Little Girl...

LITTLE GIRL. I can't believe I'm saying this, but for all of her nonsense, I felt she came across well. And she was STILL nonsense. But I've been feeling that for the last stretch of episodes. Could I (like Mary) be finally liking Little Girl for the first time since Season 1? Hmmm. That said...she WAS looking for a moment with Lisa.

HEATHER GIZELLE LITE. Heffa can't do a reunion to save her life. smh. It feels like a lot of the dislike and shade I use on Little Girl is now on her. Because...what was that? Really...what was that? You went into the finale with loud voice with her whole chest and now she's doing that very annoying thing I don't like in normal people where they say little catty comments and then get mad when I in real life gather and drag with the quickness. Technically she has the high ground so she should be able to speak up for herself. But I was annoyed at her talking about how Jen was 'toxic' when she was Jen's ride-or-die for FOUR seasons. She was whispering comments to get Left Couch stir up to attack Monica when she could easily do it herself. And her recording moment (and it was as much a moment as Meredith's receipt, but Meredith's receipts LANDED) was a lame balloon. Monica was unbothered. And...it aims at the core of why HWs would even do shows period. So it screams more hypocrisy than 'Monica is a stalker.' Sorry if that offends, but Heather cannot say anything when she's been playing a role for four seasons herself. Season One...the Mormon breaking out. Season Two...the BFF. Season Three...the Betrayed Friend. Season Four...Brainwashed Friend. It's all a mask and as Ms. Mariah Huq said herself...she showed her slip at the Season 1 reunion. And one...who knows better...can't unsee it. In fact, her whole reunion performance for me is giving Gizelle, but less polished.

    That said...a good start.

    Bring on Mary.

That was the drag show I attended - happy to see it got ample airtime! :) It was such a fun time and all the ladies were really enjoying it that night.

Yeah, I remember the videos and couldn't wait for it to happen. Such a highlight of the episode.

  6. 1-3

As I was watching, I thought it was hilarious that only in soaps would a father and son both be going through a love triangle at the same time. lol.

I didn't even realize that the Daniel/Heather kiss was a loose plot thread until they did the flashback. I guess my mind is too focused on editing and NYE aftermath. hehe. In any case, I'll take VB any way I can take her. And I'm good to see the triangle between her, Daniel, and Lily have movement. It is definitely going to be more messy once Lily comes back.

Speaking of messy, that Giggly Heffa... :D :D :D I would shade her, but it would appear that she has a leg in this race this time with Danny. I wanted to shake my head at Danny for even giving in to that kiss for a second. When he knows how Chris is going to feel. I was happy to see that the following Phyllis vs Christine scenes were up to what I would want. Phyllis has always had a way BITD of bringing the bitca out in Cricket in looks/body language as well as words. For too long, it was just in looks/body language. But...the claws were out.

Oooooo at the camera angles for the Sharon finds out about Summer's feelings for Chance reveal. SC looked GOOD. I also found the talk between Phyllis and Summer resonating. But I feel like Sharon is just going to gracefully step out of the way...though I felt that Sharon's point of view was very valid as well...but perhaps that is because of how I see things in my own life when it comes to relationships. And we all know Sharon has been through A LOT. In fact, I wondered who wrote the episode because there was such good writing but especially for these scenes.

Those Victor/Nikki flashbacks. I was not a viewer or old enough to remember so I loved those...especially the first set when Victor destroyed Nikki's bottles. In fact, he was kinda hot in his anger. Hmm lol. But I respect that whoever wrote this episode touched on the history of Victor and Nikki dealing with her various falls off the wagon. Meanwhile, the Victora/Claire storyline is currently hit or miss with me, but I loved how AH played her first time calling herself (Victoria) Claire's mother at the ward.

I liked the Michael/Lauren renewal vows. All it was missing was flashbacks. I don't want Gloria or Kevin back regularly, but it was nice to see them. And I loved the Scotty and Fen (and BF) name drops.

In fact, the only thing that has been a false note for me this week has been that it's been very Abott lite.

  7. 1-4

    Wow.

With Eric recovering, look at what we get...multiple stories!!!!

Xander's return definitely has given some juice to Thomas/Hope. And for the loose thread of Emma coming up and being given to Finn of all people...clever. Because we know Steffy is fierce with her family...so that is naturally going to cause some friction between her and Finn.

And yay for seeing Dollar Bill and Poppy's date. That was a nice to see. They started that before Eric fell ill. I was worried they would not get back around to it. Good to see. They could have let their past linger a little longer, but oh, well. Wait until Li finds out...lol. But...is Luna Bill's daughter? Yeeeah that could be a mess.

And then there's that simmering rivalry between Zende and RJ.

    So...stuff.

Now that I've had time to process that epic finale, I think the biggest "person" at fault is Bravo. You cannot tell me that didn't already know about her online persona when they casted her. Furthermore, I have to question the fact that Jen Shah's team already knew about Monica's online persona a couple years back, and this information didn't get back to anyone (Heather, etc.) prior to filming season 4? And Heather's own hairstylist is the main culprit of the Instagram account? Everything and everyone is suspect in this whole ordeal.

Still, it made for some damn good television.

I agree. I actually had to switch off from all of these leaks/drops/teas because 1) now this is getting TOO much and 2) it IS taking away from the reunion from me. Which was filed before the drops. Knowing me, I will go back post-reunion for that of this so I can form a well rounded opinion about Monica because even with all of this 3) Monica made good tv and even now is STILL giving us something to talk about to the point. Add on the extreme backlash from the Garcelle/Dorit talk on BH...it is all TOO MUCH. Reminds me of the how this place was doing the Monique/Candiace fight...and yes, I remember I was heated then, but saw both sides.

Which reminds me that RHOP...and online is already picking sides ahead of time due to that clip of Candiace calling Juan's Roommate out to her face and Roommate still being that ditzy bitca.

So 3 heated events...it's SLC Jen arrest/Porsha's new man/3rd thing week all over again. lol.

See? Monica's mother has been firmly established as thirsty so my automatic response is to just take this with a grain of salt anyway. Part of the reason I have not watched the full video.

Monica's an actress? AND...? She's not the first one. And again...it just seems like another page from the RHOA S5 Kenya playbook for me.

And regardless of the reveal in the finale, Monica for all the scheming...is still upfront. Or has a straightforward response to things. Like the family drama on Bermuda. She was upset that the family decided to not see her. She blamed her mother originally. She came out online and said it had NOTHING to do with her mom. Meanwhile...Mama likes to throw a nasty comment.

While I am the middle sarcastic child to my own mother, I am also levelheaded and firm. I'm also from the South where you are taught to respect your elders. My mother and I have had our moments, but yeah I would not talk to her like Monica does to her mother, but I'm not judging her and her mother because how they act. I don't see how online people do from that particular episode. It was clear she tried to disengage.

Now...that said...hearing that might have been a set-up...is saddening and does make me side-eye Monica. So does this leaking. But...it does not at all take away from her impact/presence to me.

    ETA: 👀

Heather might not have known who Monica was, but Jen Shah sure did back in 2021.

I know someone suggested online that Heather has known since the season began about Monica, but was waiting for the right moment to drop the bomb. Given you know what I think of Heather, I am tempted to believe it. Moreso seeing this because Jen and Heather shared everything.

  10. SLC

Now that I've decompressed from the madness...stay the hero long enough to become the villain indeed.

That finale was...a LOT. Season 4 has definitely been a good HW season after the horrible Season 3. And while the season started with Meredith vs Angie K, it slowly turned into Monica vs Lisa, a petty feud that grew into anything but. Monica might be poor, but she was blunt, funny, and transparent with one-liners, an ability to own her sh*t, and gifs a-plenty.

Which makes the reveal of Monica being basically the Gossip Girl of Salt Lake City...just mind-blowing. On one hand, Monica DID say at the beginning of the season who she was...right down to knowing everyone's secrets. Well...now we know why. lol. It was all there in plain sight. So in a way...she didn't lie. On the OTHER hand, she did not come out and say it to the girls...just the audience in Confessional. So the fact she's a blogger that Bravo hired and she not only took Jen Shah down, but got completely in the group is just a level of insidiousness that is scary.

And...tt all tracks to. Going back all the way to Season 1. The flashbacks. I remember so much of the videos that dropped on Jen around that time. That was MONICA??? The stealing from Meredith's store. Meredith with the tea about Monica having been to the store before when she acted like she had not. The whole Angie K is a Greek Mafia story makes so much sense now and vindicates Meredith.

But...that's the thing. It vindicates ONLY Meredith. The rest of the cast (sorry, Fabulous Ice) have become so unlikeable that can one even fault Monica really? And if we are to take Monica at her word...and up to this point she has been truthful, heck she owned being a blogger so STILL truthful actually...she only came after Jen Shah...something she has said all season. And something that tracks as well. And unlike the only ladies, she said just that. Jen was foul for what she did to all those elderly people. Yet...they are coming down on Monica that while bad for sure does not hold a torch to what Jen did. And they kept Jen on as a friend. Which Production also enabled Jen because they have gone harder on Jen last season rather than hiding behind Mary as a scapegoat.

And that dinner...the reveal...I agree with Daytime Fan...is right up there with RHOV Jody's expose which was a beautiful slow burn that paid off for that show. However, Jody wanted to be in denial. You could literally see Monica's wheels turn when it started. From unbothered queen to then owning it to her giving little teadrops to her clearing ALL...OF...THEM. That was exquisite. I had to rewatch...and will probably rewatch again. Not since Kenya on RHOA back in her early seasons have I seen a cast member take on a whole cast and cleared them. She destroyed Lisa again with that leather comment. She taunted Angie K with what she knew and killed with her classless comment when Angie K tried to throw the flowers with ice on her face. And she gagged Heather in the middle of her clearly rehearsed monologue when she said 'I'm glad you told the truth for once.' If looks could kill... And through it all she was giving for me vintage Sami Brady on Days of Our Lives circa late 90s. Back then, even when Sami was exposed for her manipulations, Sami ALWAYS had some ace/trump card up her sleeve that winded up with her being the last bitch woman standing.

And if that coda is not a sign of things to come...and she was totally Sami in it and that was more chilling than how the last episode ended...then I trust that Monica is going to play that trump card.

To paraphrase a fired housewife...you wanted a villain, here she is.

Bring on the reunion for me! I actually want to see how she will play this going forward. Monica's first season has definitely played out like she had Kenya's RHOA S5 playbook so I would love to see how she wiggles out of this to come back. Especially since popular opinion is on her side over the other ladies.

    Speaking of the other ladies...

MEREDITH. I thought if anyone got the sentimental vote out of the audience, it was Meredith. Always our heroine. Her reaction to Heather confessing what she found out looked genuine. And even at the dinner when she confronted Monica about her cameras, Meredith was still genuine in her hurt and disappointment. And I loved that she still was calm and collected in her own way, making it clear that she was not saying that Monica stole anything.

LITTLE GIRL. I honestly have nothing to say about her. She was actually the only person outside of Meredith that Monica did NOT come for. My question is...why? Hmmm.

LISA. I'm just...smh. Bye, Fabulous Ice. From next week (or whichever part of the reunion) where she comes for Monica's children...bad move btw...to last night...Monica got Lisa all the way together. She had her energy matched. She got called out on the workers. She got imitated AGAIN. Monica met her on that level and just destroyed her. A whole clown. So she was just there...for entertainment? And I think you all know how much I loved Lisa, but the bloom is off the rose for me I guess.

ANGIE K. I guess my personal favorite moment was Monica gathering her all the way together when she dared to start up. 'Watch yourself.' lol. Monica tried to warn her. But Angie K wanted to be a 'classless wh*re.' (c) Monica Garcia by throwing that flower bowl. Just the look on Monica's face when she told her 'Do it.' And I forgot...'Pay the IRS.' lol...which I believe it was dropped last week or so that Angie K DID owe the IRS. lol. But...what DOES Monica have on Angie K about the blog page. Because Angie K STFU with the quickness after that.

HEATHER. I'm sorry, but NO. Last episode it was her Jen coming out at the end. And now these rehearsed like she's Pheadra Parks monologue. GIRL, BYE. I saw online was praising her for her 'performance.' Uh...yeeeeah no. She was doing her job and did not come across as flawless awesome as Monica. She came across as a child throwing a tremptum that should have been reserved for Jen BEFORE Jen was in jail. It all came across fake to me. As fake as her reveal that Jen DID hit her in the face last season. Misplaced anger...party of one! Monica gagged her in the end. I guess the only credit I can give to Heather was that she figured it out. BUT...if what Monica said is true and Monica IS more truthful than Heather...the main person who ran the site was Heather's OWN HAIRDRESSER. As in...she got the tea from Heather's own lips and we have seen Heather gossip about the ladies for all four years. Then again...if it took the characters on GOSSIP GIRL six seasons to figure it out...I guess Heather is a little bit smarter. I guess.

MONICA. QUEEN. Because it takes some balls to be at a table, own your crazy doings, and then she proceeded to clear everyone in sight. No crying. No running away. She met them on their level. And she WON. And just like that, she has become a lightning rod of discussion online. All in her first season. I want to see where she goes because she is STILL maneuvering BTS...like you see that video of her and Danna from last season already setting up for s5 if she's back...the makings of a villain. I...could be down for that. Actually. Outside of Tamra on OC, are there any more good HW villains on the shows now?

A great episode. And will definitely go down in the hall of fame of HW shows. So I would say...nice rebound, SLC.

While Lisa can be a LOT, I will give her this much.

While I am happy to see how much she loves her kids now, she did not want kids at all originally. She was truly the rich trophy wife. She did all that because she loved Lenny and Lenny wanted kids.

That said...I agree with you because Lisa really does spend too much because she truly did love her lifestyle. She also needs to adjust.

    WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOW.

    Let me just collect myself.

Cuz Monica gave Sami Brady during 90s DAYS when she would get exposed and STILL have a trump card that left her last woman standing after her lies were exposed.

And Monica cleared ALL...OF...THEM AND JEN SHAH, too.

    That...was a LOT.

  12. SLC

Yep. It sounds like it is going to be a doozy of a finale. I have two hours to go.

So I went ahead and watched the last episode to be ready for it.

Yeah, I'm finding the cast trip uneven. The start was great. Next episode meh. And then a little meh here as well. The thing was this episode started off so well, too.

I've always felt Meredith was the heroine of this group. And one thing that an old school soap heroine (or a final girl in a horror movie) will be as nice as the girl next door, but have no problem using their brains/wit...and claws...if they have to. And that was what was on display for me. Last time there was the mystery of who was behind the text to Monica and Meredith, and the group using it to stage a gang-up on her. And they tried to do it again this episode. So watching Meredith taking a step back to collect herself and THEN methodically take the girls out one by one was a thing of beauty and so a Meredith (who after all has a law degree) thing to do. That is so why I love her.

And speaking of love, as much as I love Monica....oooooo she was so pressed. You would think she was the one to plant the info so everyone would go after Meredith. A shame since Meredith (outside of Mary and Angie K) was willing to build a friendship with her. And Meredith would be a strong friend to have.

And speaking of friendship...or alliances...I think it's just time for Bad Weather to take the gloves off and just unleashed all they have on each other in 'the vault.' (c)Yolanda Hadid. At this point, I want nothing slow of mutually assured destruction for those two bobbleheads. Little Girl was just looking for ts on an ant (c) Kyle Richards with her feuding with Heather over something that was in the book. And I actually believe Heather did go to her and asked her multiple times about it. But they are both so jealous of each other now that they are in the 'In Crowd' that it's just boring. And they both stir the pot and never what they seem.

I found the end of the episode chilling honestly. A lot of us have had Heather pegged. And I have definitely said she's a subtle version of Jen. Well...that mask slipped when she was with the producer and saw what was behind it. Imagine if Little Girl kept poking...

MEREDITH. She could do a masterclass just like Heather on OC this past season (from what you all have told me) on how to avoid a takedown season. Because I loved every minute of watching her maneuvering. Boring...where? She saw they (Heather, Lisa, Angie K) were coming for her on and on and on. And I loved she kept to herself. She got calm and collected after exploding. And then...she engaged. She sat down woman to woman and talked DIRECTLY to Angie K. And she talked so adult...so logical...that even Angie K had no choice, but to mend fences because she would look pathetic and stupid by not doing so. And then she got to Lisa by playing on her ego...cuz we know Fabulous Ice loves her ego stroked. And the fact that Monica could do NOTHING about it but pouted....chef's kiss. And we knew Bad Weather would fall in line to stay in the crowd and go where the wind blows so it was an easy win for Meredith. Class DISMISSED.

LISA. It's not about you. Only to have her say it in the episode got a giggle out of me.

ANGIE K. I admit...I got a lot more respect out of her after that talk she had with Meredith. That was just respect there. I did giggled at her falling out of her side during the Bad Weather fight.

MONICA. Nice try. Love you, but you are going to have to do a lot better to take out the Queen. ;)

LITTLE GIRL. Just made a whole mess out of a molehill. All that studying with Ashley Darby only for her to fumble the ball. But I guess I can give her points for poking the bear enough that Heather's true face came out. Kudos.

HEATHER. I am really curious for @Cat's opinion on that last scene. While Heather was completely pot-stirring and pitting Monica against Meredith earlier in the episode, that scene with the producer. Ooooo her slip showed. And I know you and I have been talking about Heather's mask for years. I see why she was friends with Jen.

    Bring on the finale!!!

So I hear at a brief glance online. I can't wait. Hour and a half to go I believe.

  13. Oh, so THAT's why they brought Xander back!!!

Well, that should make everyone who has been wanting that loose story thread dealt with on this board happy.

And Finn and Steffy are overdue some drama that is NOT named Sheila.

I do like they are taking their time with Eric...well, backburning his storyline now that he is recovering from the cure (Btw great job on the makeup on JMc cuz he looked like death) to focus on something new. And it feels like a doozy. I wasn't around for it but know of it so I loved the flashbacks.
