  1. I think Greta also appeared around December 1967/January 1968. Someone reported seeing her name in the credits at that time.
  2. I loved the Earles! And Dot's bunny slippers! arrive on the scene! The Earle's were great comic foils for Sky/Raven, they always made me chuckle.
  3. Sharon said in an interview last year that she was very unhappy and miserable at AW. Her then husband Larry Joshua intervened, called AW's producer, and demanded she be released from her contract. AW agreed to write her out before the end of her contract and Brittany and Catlin abruptly left the show.
  4. It is an impressive set. God, I loved the wedding episodes today. I'm such a softy that I was crying at points. Loved seeing Anna Ford out and about at the wedding, Nick firing Martha (again), and all the voiceovers during the wedding ceremony. Beautifully done! My favorite moment was a poignant scene where Althea's mom is smiling while watching her daughter get married and after reminiscing about her late husband. Directly behind her are Karen and Steve, miserable as ever. Steve's staring at Karen is once again fixated on Matt. An amazing moment. Brilliant direction!
  5. Interesting speculation that it's a real chapel. What I found interesting was that they had folding chairs rather than benches in the pews. Never saw that before!
  6. Nope. Wasn't referencing something I saw on Facebook but speculation I saw on Interwebs message boards.
  7. For some reason, Joan Copeland as Alex does ring a bell to me.
  8. Biegler apparently played Beth for two episodes according to this site: http://glmemories.blogspot.com/2007/12/hide-and-seek.html She can be seen in part 3 of the clips listed on that site.
  9. Thanks for sharing this. That area looked familiar to me so I did some Googling and found out AMC taped those scenes in New Hope, PA (an awesome town on the Delaware River). I rode that train about seven years ago and it was a delight. https://www.newhoperailroad.com
  10. SOC has many things wrong. Van Vleet was there well into the summer of 1986. I've seen episodes where he was still being credited in late July. I believe Simon returned in late July or August, shortly after Johnny appeared.
  11. Thanks for the great opinions. I, too, don't think Lakin would have skipped such an integral plot point. Makes no sense at all. Nonetheless, I'm just grateful I'm getting a chance to watch these treasures.
  12. Saynot, I can't say how appreciative I am of what you share on YouTube. It's such a treat to see these gems. I wish more soap collectors would do the same.
  13. Some speculate that the episode was pre-empted back in 1968 due to the World Series and that Lakin and Edelstein recapped the plot developments via dialogue in the episode that aired yesterday. That makes sense to me. It doesn't make sense that Lakin and Edelstein would skip such a pivotal point in the story, especially since they're taking the time to show the lead-up to the wedding.
  14. Since we're being pummeled by snow, I got to watch today's episodes live. It appears that another episode may have been skipped though we get a brief recap via dialogue. And things are getting a bit weird back at Hope Memorial...
  15. And what of Martha slipping Penny a sip of champagne? Can you imagine that happening today? And the reaction?
  16. Interesting. My hope during that period was that GL would bring on Roscoe Born as Ed Bauer. A bit younger than Peter Simon but I thought his presence would give the Bauer family a much needed boost and a sexy patriarch.
  17. Swajeski started the Iris/Hank romance. She left a few months later.
  18. In terms of the Frame family, I think some potential was wasted before Lemay even arrived. Scuttlebutt had it that Jason was going to be a potential love interest for Rachel when he arrived in late 1987. Plus, he was slated to have two daughters, but they never surfaced.
  19. I didn't get the impression that Steve was horny. I thought he was horribly cruel to Karen in those scenes and wished she had told him to stifle himself.
  20. Very interesting chat between Matt and Mike in the second of today's episodes. The conversation reveals a fact about Mike's past that I wasn't aware of.
  21. Around 1989-1990, there were reports in Soap Opera Digest that AW was casting the role of a young model named Bliss. This was reported a number of times and speculation was that Bliss was slated to turn out to be Felicia's long lost daughter. But then the character never showed up.
  22. Tina and Dianne were perfection as Lurlene and Ruby on Texas. How interesting that they both portrayed Stephanie's secretary.
  23. The Nick/Matt scene was one of my favorites. That said, I loved a scene during one episode where Maggie and Althea were in the clinic and singing and dancing. I think it was Bethel's last episode. It was so unexpected and fun.
  24. By all means, do not skip ahead. There are amazing moments and compelling performances coming up on many fronts. Overall, the story moves along fairly quickly and can be damn riveting at times. Better than anything currently on daytime.
  25. I think she was also a day player on The Edge of Night in 1984. I seem to recall a scene between her and Preacher when they were on a plane.
