  1. As I was looking for old tax records the other day, I came across some soap magazines that I had purchased at a shop in Provincetown a few years ago. They date back to 1973 and the early 80s. I'll go through them and scan stuff related to the good folks at Hope Memorial. I was leafing through the 1973 mag last night and saw photos of David O'Brien and Carolee Campbell, Palmer Deane, and Gerald Gordon, among others. We head back to P-Town in October, so hopefully they'll have some more of these rare finds!
  2. Steve and Carolee must become a front burner couple and immensely popular in the coming months. We're now seeing episodes from March 1969 and less than a year later, NBC was considering the Steve/Carolee spinoff.
  3. I thought the same thing…that there was a baby involved. I thought that John and the niece (was it Bonnie?) were going to find something when they went to Polly's apartment. Perhaps the story was aborted when Terry Kiser departed (his departure seemed a bit abrupt).
  4. Corbett was on LOL? I had no idea. I'll ask my hubby to check with him to see if he remembers his character. They're in contact from time to time on Facebook.
  5. You're correct. Martha was on before Polly died. I always got the impression there was more to Polly's story. In one scene with John Rice, Polly had a very odd reaction to the mention of Phillip Townsend's name. It really stood out to me but there was never any follow-up to that scene.
  6. Didn't Lydia also sub for Bev in the fall of 1984? For some reason, I have a vague recollection of her appearing during the Barbados storyline. I seem to remember her in a scene with Alex's half-sister Victoria Tamberlaine.
  7. Loretta Shea was the one who died in the bomb explosion. Jacker built up the Shea family -- Harry, Loretta, and Pete. Jacker also planned to introduce two teenage Shea daughters but then abandoned those plans. Within months, the entire family was decimated -- Loretta and Harry died and Pete left ay City. What a waste.
  8. Jacker replaced Browne. And it was Jacker's stint that was loathed.
  9. Karen Lynn Gorney was quoted in a 1981 issue of People that she was interested in the role of Nicole after Jayne Bentzen departed. It was right around the time of Edge's 25th anniversary party and I believe Gorney was in attendance at the party. This is the article. It was accompanied by photos of the cast and there was photo of Gorney with a caption saying she wanted the role of Nicole. http://www.people.com/people/archive/article/0,,20079086,00.html
  10. Maeve was close to Joel in age, much more so than he and Jayne. Maeve was only a few years older than Joel while Joel was 14 years older than Jayne.
  11. I wasn't surprised that Jody and Preacher weren't together at the end. Charles Flohe and and Karrie Emerson simply didn't click together. Had Lori Loughlin still been playing Jodi, I think Jody and Preacher might have gotten a happy ending.
  12. I, too, love Zaida Coles as Anna. I find her mesmerizing to watch. We're now into early January 1969 and rest assured that Liz becomes prominent again. I also wonder how much longer Toll will be on, especially since she was in the premiere cast of Somerset in March 1970.
  13. Wasn't her name Julie Phillips? She was around for about 18 months and her Sally was infatuated with Joey Perrini.
  14. Slick, I vaguely remember reading that Wendy's last name was Prescott. CHARACTERS WITHOUT LAST NAMES, CHARACTERS WITHOUT NAMES: ANNOUNCER: Bill Wolff For character stories/ information I suggest : Somerset Online Somerset Register Also for in depth dates: The Another World Homepage...Spinoffs The cast to follow.
  15. I think Greta also appeared around December 1967/January 1968. Someone reported seeing her name in the credits at that time.
  16. I loved the Earles! And Dot's bunny slippers! arrive on the scene! The Earle's were great comic foils for Sky/Raven, they always made me chuckle.
  17. Sharon said in an interview last year that she was very unhappy and miserable at AW. Her then husband Larry Joshua intervened, called AW's producer, and demanded she be released from her contract. AW agreed to write her out before the end of her contract and Brittany and Catlin abruptly left the show.
  18. It is an impressive set. God, I loved the wedding episodes today. I'm such a softy that I was crying at points. Loved seeing Anna Ford out and about at the wedding, Nick firing Martha (again), and all the voiceovers during the wedding ceremony. Beautifully done! My favorite moment was a poignant scene where Althea's mom is smiling while watching her daughter get married and after reminiscing about her late husband. Directly behind her are Karen and Steve, miserable as ever. Steve's staring at Karen is once again fixated on Matt. An amazing moment. Brilliant direction!
  19. Interesting speculation that it's a real chapel. What I found interesting was that they had folding chairs rather than benches in the pews. Never saw that before!
  20. Nope. Wasn't referencing something I saw on Facebook but speculation I saw on Interwebs message boards.
  21. For some reason, Joan Copeland as Alex does ring a bell to me.
  22. Biegler apparently played Beth for two episodes according to this site: http://glmemories.blogspot.com/2007/12/hide-and-seek.html She can be seen in part 3 of the clips listed on that site.
  23. Thanks for sharing this. That area looked familiar to me so I did some Googling and found out AMC taped those scenes in New Hope, PA (an awesome town on the Delaware River). I rode that train about seven years ago and it was a delight. https://www.newhoperailroad.com
  24. SOC has many things wrong. Van Vleet was there well into the summer of 1986. I've seen episodes where he was still being credited in late July. I believe Simon returned in late July or August, shortly after Johnny appeared.
  25. Thanks for the great opinions. I, too, don't think Lakin would have skipped such an integral plot point. Makes no sense at all. Nonetheless, I'm just grateful I'm getting a chance to watch these treasures.
