  1. According to a bio about Dennis Parker, Parker helped get Joey Alan Phipps the role of Kelly on Edge. Parker and Phipps has been lovers at one point. Folks interviewed for the bio said Parker’s past in porn was well known on the set and that Phipps was fired simply because he was not a good fit for the role.
  2. The role of Wendy was recast because they wanted a slightly more mature actress in the role for the Eleanor/Luke/Wendy triangle.
  3. David was Dr. David Glenn, portrayed by Jack Betts. Yes, he appeared on the show and was there until the end. As I recollect, when Gary Tomlin was still head writer, he started laying the ground work for David's introduction. It seemed -- to me anyway -- that David had some kind of connection with Jo's past but that angle got dropped. The woman in the commercial. Isn't that Nicolette Goulet? It was definitely Addie Walsh and Pam Long. The episode aired in September 1986. I think Walsh/Long showed up in June/July.
  4. By all means, check out the earliest Retro episodes. Except for a few duds here and there, the show was magical from December 1967 to June 1969 when head writer Rita Lakin departed. Her writing is some of the best I've ever seen.
  5. It was offline for a bit. Looks like he's been adding new material on occasion.
  6. The Edge website has video clips of the closing credits featuring that view of the skyline. http://www.edgehomepage.com/video.html
  7. How interesting about Kozak. I believe she and Lilly Barnstone appeared in one episode together and then Lacey was written out.
  8. The Texas cast list is intriguing. It lists Harley Kozak as playing Lacey Wheeler, not Brette Wheeler. I think Harley arrived around November 1981.
  9. Thanks. For some reason, I thought he never aired.
  10. I think it was scrapped. Olive was a terribly weak actor. That was obvious very quickly. I believe he was the original Sugar Hill on GL but never aired.
  11. I don’t think that’s Hunt Block.
  12. Would love to read it as well. Sending you a PM.
  13. Yep. She played Melissa Needham on AW. I believe she was written out during the dreaded Corinne Jacker era.
  14. Totally different character. That was Johnny "Dub" Taylor. The actor was Marko Maglich.
  15. I recall that at one point, ABC was toying with its other soaps going to the short arc format -- All My Kids, in particular.
  16. Thank you, Paul. In all my years of lurking and then posting on this board, I've never seen someone so sanctimonious. Why so judgmental, Jarrod? For someone who attacked the members of this board just months ago for being overly critical and negative, you sure seem to love to wallow in negativity.
  17. Here's where you can see Servitto today: http://www.njpen.com/425m-in-nj-film-and-tv-tax-credits-to-spur-garden-state-film-economy/ He just appeared in my town last week for a discussion about New Jersey's TV/film economy.
  18. I never cared for the character of Jackson Freemont. I imagine they may have kept him around in hopes of bringing back Beth. Jackson was ultimately dropped from the show sometime in 1988 -- before Beth returned.
  19. I believe Joseph Manetta was just an interim head writer for September/October 1986 while Sheri Anderson was still contractually obligated to Days. As for Sally, it was Pam Long who killed off the character around October 1987. I believe it was just as Sally was about to reveal Marah's parentage.
  20. Frank Telfer played Luke the entire time. I think Virginia was written out in 1978.
  21. Actually Luke (Lew) Dancy lasted longer. He showed up right after Joan Dancy died and was there till the last episode on December 31, 1982.
  22. I know Weber showed up as Burton Canfield on Texas in 1982. He was definitely in the final episode of Texas, appearing alongside Lori March who played his wife Mildred.
  23. A lot of us speculate that Anna burned her bridges in 1976 with her remarks to the press about the writing and direction the show had taken with Toni and Mike (including a head-scratching career change for Mike). She was written out very abruptly around September 1976, seemingly before her contract had expired. So it's very possible that her criticism of the show led to her departure.
  24. The original plan as announced in 1983 was that Hillary and Katie would both fall in love with Jim Reardon, leading to friction between the two friends. However, that storyline was shelved for some reason.
  25. As soon as Lakin left in 1969, there was an immediate shift in the writing style. I found it very noticeable. There was an intelligence in the writing when Lakin was there that disappeared when Edelstein took over. What didn't help was the overacting of James Shannon in the role of Paul Bennett. The Doctors truly lost something magical when Lakin departed.
