  1. That doesn't sound right to me. It's more like September 1986. The Hendersons didn't arrive until sometime in September, I believe. That's right around the time the story with Matt McCleary started. If it was early May, Robert Reed would still have been around as Lloyd Kendall.
  2. Yep. She and her husband lead a church here in North Jersey. And she's a realtor these days, too.
  3. The odd thing is I was never a GH fan. I just have a good memory about useless trivia like this. I remember getting my hair cut in December 1983 and my stylist being stoked that Genie Francis was back on GH. As an Edge of Night fan, I wanted to talk about Edge, not Luke and Laura.
  4. It's a long time ago, but I believe the Entertainment Tonight story played up the popularity of the Beth/Lujack pairing and cited it for the increase in GL's ratings. As for Tony and Genie, they had already been gone from GH for about 6 to 7 months when GL overtook GH in the ratings. Genie returned at the end of 1983 to tie up the Luke/Laura story. I think they were gone by year's end.
  5. "Honeymoon on the Murder Express" was Sloane's work. I remember watching it live with my mom and nephew, who was so intrigued by the episode. He was five at the time.
  6. I liked some of Swajeski's work, but as others have pointed out, she really did not excel at wrapping up her stories. Great kernels of stories that had disappointing conclusions.
  7. Back before Lorna appeared, probably around 1990, there was talk about AW casting for the role of Bliss, a twenty something model who was rumored to be Felicia's long lost daughter. Clearly, Bliss was scrapped. It makes me wonder if Swajeski had no idea about who would turn out to be the daughter.
  8. It’s a long time ago but I want to say it was July 1984. Entertainment Tonight did a story about the ratings.
  9. I loved the early seasons, but really have to say that season 7 is my favorite. No spoilers but it's a riveting and touching season. I had to watch the finale twice. Supposedly, it was going to be the last season but they got a two-season pick-up.
  10. Which season are you on? I'm addicted to Wentworth. Having seen a good chunk of the original series, Prisoner: Cell Block H, it's so cool to revisit these characters.
  11. With all due respect, what does this have to do with All My Children?
  12. And there is NO conversation taking place. It’s just post after post after post.
  13. Supposedly in October 1984.
  14. You certainly implied in the worst executive producer thread that Conboy and Weston had stuff to do with the Peapack days. You defended Wheeler's shoddy production values during Peapack and then went on to say, "the next part was learning how to write for the new structure. Which they very well did, but it took some time & part of that time was wasted having ConWest in place!" Sorry but that statement gives the impression that Conboy and Weston were still employed in 2008. They were gone by 2004 so how could their employment have had anything to do with the time to implement storytelling changes that occurred in 2008?
  15. I thought Chelsea's profession was a singer when she was introduced in 1986. Later on, she branched into other careers.
  16. CJ = Corinne Jacker
  17. Lau was at Another World from 1986 to 1990. He wasn't on the show when Farren Phelps was there. She was executive producer from 1995 to 1996. Gary Tomlin hired Lau on OLTL. There are closing credits featuring Kale Browne online from March 2001 that show Tomlin as executive producer.
  18. No. There was a seven- or eight-year gap between Long's stints on Guiding Light and One Life. Why do you consider Laurence Lau to be a FOJ? I don't see the connection.
  19. As others have said, IMDB is not accurate. Rebecca was on Guiding Light for three years -- 1995 to 1998.
  20. L. Virginia Browne is the one who brought back Steve Frame. And it was in October 1981, not 1983. Jacker took over as head writer about a month after Steve had reappeared. Robert Soderberg and Dorothy Ann Purser killed off Steve in early 1983.
  21. I believe Lucky Gold was responsible for the Reva time travel story, not Brown and Esensten. That happened in 2001, long after Brown and Esensten were gone.
  22. I believe Mary Ryan Munisteri introduced Johnny.
  23. Ah. The infamous Marland interview. So full of hot air. Yeah, he married Penny and Jerry, but where was the big storyline he touted?
  24. Dennis departed in mid-November. Iris left at the end of November. And Eliot was gone by the end of December. I remember being so disappointed with Eliot's departure because I thought he and Paige were an interesting pairing.
  25. The change in logo happened much earlier...probably within a few months of the premiere. The episode where Iris and Alex married (which I believe aired in November 1980) featured the new logo.
