  1. Nlg and Sn did have pretty good chemistry lol. I thought they thought she was a cousin not adopted lol
  2. I forgot how creepy early Stefan/Alexis were and how she was low key in love with him and made him believe Katherine was his sister. Good times. It fit the gothic vibe of the Cassadines at that moment.
  3. Connie/Kate had some weird scenes where she changed her lipstick and look privately in the mirror before Ron, but I have no idea what the plan was. There was something there for sure, but I don't know if it was DID or if Kate was out for revenge against Sonny initially. I think that was my first thought because she was looking a lot at her bloody wedding dress too. I loved, loved MW as Kate and liked the Kate/Sonny romance. A Kate recast was unnecessary because there was no place to go as we've said. He should have found someone like Claudia next who didn't care about the mob and wanted to be his partner in crime.
  4. I think GW was always meant to be interim and RC was always who GH had their eye on. No idea about JFP's firing, but I think the Franco stuff and botched Brenda return might have been the final straw.
  5. It seemed that way, but I have to assume that was a red herring. I couldn't believe they'd do that, but they vaguely killed her off anyway, so maybe? I remember Robin's meds not working being a big deal and she was lying to Patrick about it and maybe called Brenda (off screen) and asked for help and then all was good and it wasn't even Lisa effing with her meds. They just stopped working and were good again. Weird.
  6. I believe he also started the Connie/Kate stuff which was painful. RC just went wild with it, but it started in GW's run. I said it a few weeks ago, but Kristina's funeral is my favorite Alexis/NLG episode ever.
  7. GW was a good writer that wrote characters and character motivation well, but he was boring. No big events ever happened under his watch and that's something GH is known for. I didn't dislike him, but the show seemed to drag. He probably should have been given more time though.
  8. I have always liked Drake too. He fits what Roman/John should be and the stories he was given post-Wayne's run. He's charismatic, has chemistry with most his co-stars, and looks like he enjoys doing what he is doing. He is certainly not a good actor, but I think he has a way of connecting with the audience and giving them what they want. He plays an excellent hero and romantic lead and I agree he wouldn't be a fit for any other soap, he's perfect for Days. I also appreciate that him, Deidre, and the Hayes don't have to work, but do it because they want to. Anyway, everyone continue posting hot DF pics! 😍
  9. No it's weird. I get it. You are not wrong. Just like I am super creeped out Alexis/Sam both had Sonny's children. I am just not sure if the show wants to bring it up, but I assume Dante is aware at least. I have never liked Sam at all, although I loved Dante when he first appeared, but it feels like both characters have been mopey for years. I hope this changes it. Neither Dante nor Sam have a ton of options right now lol.
  10. I don't think they have, but I could have missed it. To be fair, it's rarely mentioned by anyone these days. When you think about they are completely awkward because they share multiple siblings as well (Kristina, Leo). They are really more creepy then the time they tried to pair Brenda/Dante, but Sam doesn't have any feelings for Sonny and it was a lifetime ago in soaps. I may be in the minority, but I like them. They aren't setting the world on fire with chemistry, but I think they are cute. I may just be happy for anything that is not Jasam though.
  11. It's been 35 years, did you think that would change lol? He has some charm about him and I actually enjoy his ridiculous reactions to things lol. I'd rather watch him than some of the other lifeless performances.
  12. It aged better, but I hated it at the time. I was like NOOOOO, WHY, ROBIN, WHY?!!!! She really had the right face for it, but in my youth I had such an aversion to short hair. It made her look older too. I did like her in between bob better than her long hair or the pixie cut though.
  13. I love the Horton Cabin stuff too. Without giving much away, Marlena trying to seduce Father John in a variety of ridiculous ways and Kristen being right but sounding like a lunatic always cracks me up. And the stuff directly after is good as well. There is sort of a lull after that where people wonder is she or isn't she possessed and then we are stuck in Marlena's (lovely) penthouse bedroom for a long time. The ending is nice as well, but it's not a quick road to get there lol.
  14. Days is on fire when the Possession is on. The other 2 days a week not so much. But it's better than nothing I guess. Give it up to SSH and DH for doing 'stunts' in their 70's though LOL
  15. I liked the Killing Pool in the beginning but the end was such a cop out. I wish they would have played John's guilt over Kristen's "suicide" more. I am not sure Drake would have been able to play that well, but it would have been a more believable obstacle in John/Marlena than whatever Roman/Marlena/John were doing for months on end after lol. I think SSM tends to be slightly underrated for her Days work alone. It was certainly a let down from peak JER, but I am not sure she had a lot to work with. The Franco/Sami, early John/Gina, the Ali/Mike/Craig/Nancy/Carrie and Marlena/John wedding stuff was pretty good. At the time I thought a lot of it was awful but it certainly wasn't as bad in retrospect.
  16. So I know Kristen was super OTT, but I think if the show got Wayne back or someone with actual chemistry with anyone for Roman she could have done the same thing in leading Roman to Jarlena at the plane, but could have got Roman drunk and slept with him, got pregnant with her miracle baby and skip town. It could have led to years of conflict with a Eric/Sami/Carrie Dimera half sibling showing up later. Her being trapped in white slavery was not the ending Kristen deserved lol. Kristen could have continually worked as a Stefano like big bad popping in and out I agree Mark Valley was fine but not Jack.
  17. Those were all the ones I was thinking of. I might include KA's Billie flopping even though she was hired earlier and getting rid of Jason Brooks as Peter but those were both late 1996 I think. I was thinking Eileen playing like 5 roles plus the fact she checked out after the Kristen/Susan reveal Do you think Kristen had nowhere to go or the entire jarlena/roman/kristen story? Because I think Kristen had nowhere to go. There was no viable love interests for her on the canvas after to pick up the pieces of her craziness and redeem her, so Idk what her plan would have been. To just bide her time until John/Marlena fell out of love and steal Susan's baby lol? The only thing I could imagine is if they hired a hotter recast Roman and they could have hooked up out of spite or something.
  18. For me personally just the way he speaks out. He's given away spoilers like the fact Marlena was the Salem Serial Killer and he makes a lot of posts about Days not honoring history or him. It just rubs me the wrong way. Others may disagree. I believe JER left because of Passions. He was still story consultant for a year after he left while making his bible and gave SSM tips and outlines but it did seem lazy. Honestly, most of his initial story arcs had come to a conclusion so maybe he was just tired, done, and over it. Ready to move on to Passions to let his true freak fly. I do think some casting decisions at the time effected the show in 97 badly as well.
  19. John was an idiot post-1996 Paris, but in his defense, I want to think we were supposed to believe he was so distracted over Marlena/Stefano/danger stuff he wasn't fully paying attention. Austin has no excuse lol. Did MA ever speak out against JER? I thought JER just didn't like or understand Matt's version of Jack and wanted someone more conventional. TP seems grating even now on Social Media, so I could understand him not being JER's cup of tea. His castmates seem to love him though.
  20. Got it. From what I was getting from what Johnny was saying, he wanted it to be a true story. So I wonder if Johnny would just fill in the details himself if he didn't have any consent? It's definitely not the nicest thing to do to his grandparents lol.
  21. Johnny is kind of a douche but I like him! Realistically, even with funding, how does Johnny expect to make this film? It's documented I guess, but how does he plan to make a movie without John/Marlena's consent? He can't find Kristen, get ahold of Sami, main players are dead, and everyone else in town doesn't have much info. Also, I am offended on Marlena's behalf that Johnny thinks Abby could play her and I am offended for Abby that Johnny thinks Abby looks old enough to be Allie's mother lol.
  22. I would think the evolution of Kristen was always planned. I think ED said she did want to play a villainess as well. There were anvils all over the place about Kristen not being able to escape her father's evil for most of her run and they are a ton at the end of the Possession where the Devil tells Kristen she is evil at heart. Maybe if John/Kristen or John/Kristen/Tony really, really took off things might have changed, but it was clear JER's vision was always John/Marlena so Kristen had to be dark to be the third wheel, as JER was incapable of writing a triangle with 3 rootable people. I can't help you with the Sami stuff. She blackmailed Kate about being a hooker as well but all were different years. Lol.
  23. Thanks! You just explained Eric's story and I watched it and I still don't remember it. Usually with a reminder I can recall at least part of it, but, nope, nothing. I do remember being 'that's it'? And early Eric was super annoying with his pro-Roman/family stuff. He was never around for his family either and it's something to expect from Sami, but they were adults. It was just selfish when John/Marlena had their own young kids and it made Eric seem like a whiny manchild, but Jensen was hot and grew on me. And now that you mention it, Carrie/Austin did have the same conversation for that entire year. Austin/Carrie probably had only 5 or 6 different conversations their entire 90's relationship tbh. Austin/Carrie had more careers than shared interests really, but I loved them anyway.
  24. I totally got sick of the Possession and quit my re-watch too. The dialogue isn't awful yet, but it gets progressively worse. I find Kristen so obnoxious during the Possession. I know she's right, but I was at the point where I wanted the Devil to seduce John just so he would win and Kristen would shut up lol. Poor Kristen, if she just would have let it go her life in the future probably would have been easier because Marlena would have been dead. I think I just loathe good Kristen. I liked the Lady in a Cage Paris stuff. Just because it was so glamorous. This is where the dialogue starts really stalling though. Carrie/Austin/Sami have the same conversations over and over again. The show probably went a little too far with the guillotine and the people of the night and the hypnotizing mirror but I liked it. I know it was just as ridiculous as the Possession, but I liked it better. I also liked that all of Salem ended up in Paris lol. I assume NBC/Corday looked at the ratings and made JER drag things out so long to the detriment to the show. Carrie/Austin/Sami could have ended much sooner and I think the Bo/Billie/Hope stuff could have as well. I think the John/Marlena/Kristen et al lasted probably the right amount of time because there were a lot of twists, but most of these stories literally could have been cleared up with two parties having 1 conversation to fix misunderstandings.
  25. This is the direct Drake quote, but I can't find the OG article lol: James loved John and Marlena … DH: But you know what? Dee and I were smart to never address him as actors but as characters. I remember when John Aniston yelled at him during the Emmy Awards complaining about how these snot-nosed kids were thwarting him after he outsmarted the CIA, etc.. Aniston was like, “Victor is smarter than that — something needs to change.” James’s response? “It will.” Well, literally the next day, a rewrite came in and Victor ended up in a coma after a heart attack! James was very passionate about the show. This is a testament to James’s power at NBC — the network was furious because John is Jennifer Aniston’s father, but all he said was, “You keep him happy. He’s off my show.” And as we know, James won that battle. But when James went to Passions, Victor miraculously came out of his coma. When it came to James, if he saw you out of character, you were done. What a strange man. Could you imagine having to talk to your boss/writer in character? How awkward. So JA was complaining about his writing not lack of. Who was outsmarting him at the time? Wasn't there rumors that JER used to play out scenes with dolls as well?
