Agreed. I think he would work fine as anti-hero/quasi villian. But this obsession with Chloe is bizarre. It's built on knowing we know they were a good couple in the past and nothing about them being a good couple in the present. No loves scenes, no real declarations of love. It all seems like a cheap bone to throw to Phloe/Broe fans in the past without actually working on making a current love triangle for 40 plus year olds not teenagers.

I mean, however they want to spin their private lives is their own. It was certainly publicly filled with drama. It felt awkward to me in the most cringey way. So uncomfortable to watch as was Mac with his weird puppet. That was such an odd Nurses Ball. It was entertaining, but you had Brenda throwing bread at Carly one day and Frisco singing All I need the next day. It was a lot.

Gotcha. I feel like the tone has been entirely off since he returned. He doesn't really interact with anyone he should. They touched on Shawn/Belle/Claire and he has scenes with his mom/siblings, but not enough? I feel like Days pacing is always awful and I'll forget what Phillip was doing because I don't see him for a full week. Or his entire week is spent being a creeper to Chloe. I actually like Phillip as well and I am not sure if it's a lack of investment in him or RC just having no idea what the character should be.

Dustin's Days Page was the bomb. So much great info there. It was something I checked everyday in the late 90's lol. Beth had a ton of great stuff too. Simpler times.....

I thought I was the only one who thought JW and KW were hella awkward as Frisco and Felicia when ever they last appeared. The 50th? I know it appears they get along well IRL now it did not seem that way at all onscreen. Forget Jack! Save the money for Vanessa lol.

That's actually a really valid concern and I hadn't thought about that. I thought he was pretty much wrecked after that Island Adventure/Claire nonsense and he did recover. Idk, maybe a new love interest and a willingness to change his ways? We have Ben the serial killer as a main romantic lead, so the show can figure Phillip out.

I don't disagree it's a waste of JKJ and honestly all the actors involved, but Phillip has been a villian in the past. This plan is ludicrous, but it's not like he's been a straight edge good guy all along. JKJ is playing it like he is a psycho though.

It feels like something that could be better distributed or controlled by the show, but it seems like it's a whole week off from that story. The spoilers from 12/13 seem to indicate it basically picks up where it left off, but I could be wrong. I would assume there will just be mentions of John trying to find Marlena off screen.

From all the spoilers I have seen it looks like the story picks back up starting on 12/13, so no. I guess it's a break. They have been using the DH's a lot so it's probably a guarantee thing.

The multiple kids really did Maxie in. She's had so many baby stories. And tbh, Maxie is a character that doesn't even need kids. She was career focused and the children don't really add anything once their initial story is done. I would just re-pair her with Spinelli and write them off for awhile. I am actually surprised they never went back to that pairing since it was all the rage and the show seemed to love it a decade ago.

I actually really liked Jen Lilley as Maxie lol so agree? Sam doesn't need a recast. She needs to be gone. Although I hope Lindsay Korman finds another soap role.

If I could have written off Sam years ago I would have. Her faux fake Brenda ass should have been circa 2004. I have never liked Maxie much either. KS was grating as Belle a million years ago.

I always thought KL and NB had chemistry. Apologies to KL because I initialed him as KB thinking of Kyle Brandt but meant KL of course lol. I thought it was cheesy, but it gave some depth to Brady who had spent his previous time just being an [!@#$%^&*] to Marlena. This might just be a case where the ship has sailed on chemistry with the characters. They have all had numerous stories, love interests, time away, etc. The writing isn't good, but the young/first love aspect of it all is long gone, so it might just not work.

Honestly, Howarth was my first thought for LW. They had good chemistry. Sean would work for me too, but I figured he would end up with Alexis. Maybe Drew for her? I feel like LW is in the same corner Britt is. Her love interests left. I am sure the eventual default will be back to Sonny, but it is a bummer LW is probably the most effected. They have cast so many women over the years for MB/Sonny I do feel it's only fair to cast one for Carly. But the cast is so huge in itself already. Idk, I don't worry about LW/Carly. She will always get writing.

I think, from spoilers, we are getting a pretty long break from the Possession story next week too. Like I don't think there are any for that story next week. The Phillip stuff is so bad. I want to say it's character assassination, but then I remember how evil he was trying to get Claire, so, Idk, Phillip's characterization has been odd for almost 2 decades now. I am not sure what is wrong with this triangle. It has all the right ingredients. I don't think EM and NB had the chemistry KB and NB did but they do have some. I am just not really invested in either couple. Phillip/Chloe appear so non-romantic and sexless. I don't even see why Phillip would go to these extremes.

And, man, I hate to be mean about a kid, but DC was just so unlikable as kid Michael. I hated that child. I think adding the completely reviled Courtney into that mix didn't help either. I think I liked Jason a little longer because he did have chemistry most of the time with the women he was paired with. Every non Carly/Brenda pairing (outside of OGKate) just felt so forced with Sonny. I actually do think there are storylines for both Sonny/Carly currently. Carly just has taken a hit with Jax/Jason leaving and Sonny moving toward Nina. LW seems to be able to generate chemistry with a lot of people, so I figure they can find someone else for her.

I would never advocate for a pairing like Liz/Sonny, but if done RIGHT it could have been interesting. If Sonny looked back at his past treatment of women and Liz acknowledged some of her issues. I would say it's on the same playing field as her and Ric being paired. It's a very similar age difference with BH. I still was into Sonny during Brenda's first return. I would say 2003 was the year he really soured him for me. The Sam pairing, shooting Carly in the head, the way he treated Alexis and Carly was bad as well. He was going down a bad path starting with the Carly pairing, but him shooting her in the head and being completely unreasonable about her recovery was just the end for me. It's when the writing really became Sonny isn't a criminal, he's a good criminal to be admired. The Jason deity stuff began before that to be honest. Sonny still has his moments for me, but I think for most Sonny fans the endless parade of women and kids really killed it for him. Part of Sonny's charm was that he really loved Brenda or Carly and was more or less a one woman guy and he suddenly became a manwhore who would get anyone pregnant. The airtime didn't help either. Sonny should be a lead in his own stories, not the lead of the show.

Honestly, I think it is the show that has continued to push that agenda. Other characters (besides Sami) have said it. I think John/Marlena have even said it, but I think that's just what we are supposed to believe contrary to what was shown onscreen. I think it pushes the notion that John/Marlena were so in love she dropped Roman because "soulmates" lol. I feel bad for Roman, but it was a really impossible situation Marlena was in. Roman from the beginning really pushed Marlena (as Isabella did with John) to just move on like RoJohn/Marlena were never married. I think Roman could have gotten over it eventually, especially since Marlena was so open to Carrie/Anna, but that was clearly not the direction JER wanted to go. And, for better or worse, moving Marlena in a different direction probably saved the show.

And they used old Roman/Marlena flashbacks for that story. I can't. I am so angry on Wayne's behalf. I mean, I would literally not blink if JT's Roman became Chris Kositcheck again and they hired Wayne back. I would accept it easily. No questions asked. No, Marlena 100% begged and pleaded with Roman to take her back and they would inch toward it and something would happen to screw it up. It was ROMAN who could not deal with the fact that Marlena still had feelings for John at all and just left his troubled children to leave town again for several years because his feelings were hurt. I don't know if it's Sami fans only though. I think the show has also made it seem like that through time. I know I have brought this up, but Sami's weird attachment to Roman after the affair always creeped me out. She acted so protective and weird with him and he just up and left town. Roman would never do that.

Bringing JT on as Roman was so, so painful. I actually don't mind him now, but at the time he was just the worst. And we all knew it was coming. The anvil of Roman 'dying' couldn't be more clear. JT played Roman as such a sad sack practically begging Marlena to take him back and ignoring the fact Marlena/DH visibly cringed anytime a romantic relationship was brought up. Wayne never would have played it like that. His Roman had some pride. I THINK Wayne was unavailable because he was on PC, but I wonder if he was even approached. He couldn't have too many hard feelings toward the show since he came back under JER as Alex. It also brought us the Jungle Adventure where John/Hope seeds were planted. I remember the scene of Hope/John making out (because he was delirious and thought she was Marlena) and going what the hell am I watching? Why is this happening? Like I said, I was already hit hard that Summer/Fall with Sonny leaving Brenda at the altar. I did not need John/Hope and an aborted Jarlena wedding too. Tough times lol

RC was pretty bland as Mike until they added Carrie and Nancy/Craig/Crazy Ali to the mix. That was literally the first time he got an actual story I think. I think with so many recasts and weird aging and de-aging Mike is just a pretty ill-defined character. You would think Roman would know Marlena well enough that he wouldn't believe she would leave her baby at home to galivant with John on an extended vacation, but oh well. Also, way to put Shawn/Caroline in an awkward position John and Marlena lol! The Roman stuff did make sense and was in character for Wayne's Roman. It really was a huge betrayal. Not the just the affair, but the lies, and the baby not being his. They did Wayne wrong. The show wrote him into a corner because the way he treated Marlena pre/post-Affair made you want her to end up with John. I don't think Roman ever got a true clear point of view when he returned. He was in prison for 7 years waiting to be with his family only to find out he was easily replaced by a 'better' version. That must suck. Instead of the show going with that organic problem, they put Roman/Marlena on the backburner and had him leave for long periods of time on cases and basically be a jerk to his wife and entire family. One of my favorite set of scenes in the affair storyline is the fight Roman/Marlena have right before she's thrown into the pit. It was good work by WN/DH and really got to the crux of their problems. I have always thought it would have been interesting to keep Wayne and have Roman stay on the canvas. Clearly, JER wanted Jarlena as endgame, but there was a lot of time when John was 100% pursuing Kristen where Marlena could have dealt with Roman and the fallout of the affair. It was so strange the show did much of the fallout without Roman and without Eric. I get Roman had to be gone for the Possession to happen, but the Roman character was still so important back then.

Her politics aside, I always had an issue with her holding the show hostage with casting decisions. Sorry you messed up your personal life, but Peter Blake should have reappeared years ago. CM proves that Missy is replaceable.

RC was always so blandly handsome to me. Attractive, but nothing wow. It looks like MV doesn't have much going on these days, but he's still pretty hot. Jason Brooks is the comeback I am waiting for. Dump Missy permanently and get Peter Blake back.

Well, I assume the producers told Shannon since she hadn't interacted with Nicole since her daughter was in preschool. Right? If Nicole just appeared at Heather's house it would make sense, but it seemed like her and Nicole had some sort of established relationship. Heather seems pretty intelligent, so I would think even if she wasn't previously 'friends' with Nicole she would have googled her before filming with her.

I guess I am confused on how Heather/Terry didn't know this before Nicole was cast. I can't imagine Terry doesn't know the names of people that have sued him. I am assuming the producers knew, but this all seems so odd.
