  1. I totally get the point he is trying to make since GH is historically bad with most long term vets, but even shows that are good with vets like Days have, what, 2 cast members that have been around that long as well. It's not insane with that small of the cast and the time that has passed in for GH
  2. You know what I just saw it floating around. It could totally be agenda based lol. I forgot EJami had a very intense fanbase. Nicole/Rafe are really just the lamest couple. Tripp/Ali are more exciting.
  3. I have never thought KL was attractive really, but I was watching yesterday and thought he looks pretty hot today. I think it's the lack of goofy hair he usually sports. That cut looked nice. Plus, I just think he looks better older than he did as a younger guy. I am happy about Lucas rescuing her too. But
  4. This is from today or yesterday. Not the best picture, but he looked good. Also, he has never looked more like John Black's son than in that picture. Which is neither here nor there since he doesn't play Brady anymore, but they do look alike.
  5. I haven't thought Rex was needed ever. But I thought KL looked really hot today and I generally never think that. The devil helping Phillip would make too much sense so i doubt it's true, but it would be a way to get him out of that corner and the Devil would screw with Brady to torment John/Marlena.
  6. They are a lot alike. I guess Robert/Holly and Anna/Duke were just better. I haven't seen much of Robert/Katherine, but I have seen several people say they really liked them. I have always just thought it was interesting how magazines, polls, the show etc. considers them a supercouple and most people were just okay about them. But then again those same magazines, polls, and show considers Sonny/Carly a supercouple so I shouldn't be surprised.
  7. I know it's stupid for me to question this of all things, but I kept thinking how is that humanly possible? Maybe the devil is helping Phillip lol. Lol! That could be. It seems excessively time consuming and gross, but why not?
  8. I know everyone will tell me to stop trying to make things logical on Days, but Kayla said Brady had three times the legal limit of alcohol in his system. We know he was set up because he was sober when he got knocked in the head. How would one make it appear he had alcohol in his system? That makes no sense. Was a concussed Brady force fed alcohol for hours? The plan is pretty good so far, but wouldn't it have been much easier to just inject Brady with coke/heroin whatever in 2 mins instead?
  9. It's weird when I hear people watching at the time didn't actually like Robert/Anna together. It seems to be a fairly popular consensus. It's strange that the coupling has reached a sort of supercouple like status over the years even though it sounds like people preferred Robert/Anna with others. Not really on topic, but it's just something I wondered about. I guess Robin being their child and them being married at the time of their deaths made the lore of their romance better than it actually was.
  10. Like when Austin ran over Sami twice on Days! I still giggle about that. Not to get too off topic either, but I thought the original concept of PC was pretty good and the cast was very good. In fact I think they took some talent that could have been useful to the mother show in that era. GH had like no 20 something females that landed in that era after Brenda/Robin left (besides Carly) and PC had a bunch. Unfortunately, it was just boring. Riche was being extended in too many ways and both shows suffered.
  11. God, she was boring. And so bland I couldn't tell you what she looked like or pick her out of a line up today. Which I don't know why that was appealing to Ned as a non-virginal, non-religious man near 30 or why she would lie about it. I thought it was hilarious when she was exposed as being a mistress to a senator or congressman by Brenda or Julia (can't remember which). Jenny didn't seem like she had that in her. I don't know how she stole Paul away from Tracy.
  12. Not disagreeing but wasn't Jenny around torturing us for a little longer than that? Sly was definitely around longer, but he was a kid. And didn't they throw Mac at Holly for a minute which might have helped him as well.
  13. Well, you had me at that one for a second, but I doubt JJY's salary/appearances even come close to what Vanessa wanted lol.
  14. It was weird Tony just integrated himself like it was no big deal. Back to Anna, back to daily life, he wasn't even confused about the advances in technology over the years. I guess Tony is just not easily phased by such things. Plus, he had a pretty good island life. Roman was in a freakin dungeon lol. As far as 90's days triangles, I would agree it was like fairytales. A clear villian and heroine/hero. It was just a bizarre time where women thought a child was going to make a man love you forever and ever, especially with Billie/Kristen, whose men had children with the women they were up against. I bag on Days but most soaps had that formulaic approach with triangles. Rarely was there a triangle with two men and one woman and everyone was a decent human being. The only popular ones of that era I can think of are Sonny/Brenda/Jax on GH, Marlena/Roman/John and maybe Mike/Austin/Carrie on Day. I am sure there are more examples of course.
  15. Didn't he get money from Isabella as well? I am not even sure if him and Marlena ever got their money back from the time EJ/Stefano stole it when John was painted to be a Bernie Madoff ponzi schemer about 10 years ago. Or maybe Basic Black has made enough where it can fund itself now?
  16. That was my first thought as well. The kids. Robin needed someone to raise her. The show was invested in her. Sean and Tiffany would have been the only other logical options to raise her and they were being phased out. Plus, I think being the Police Commissioner and owning the Outback gave him several easy things to do to be involved in plot, even peripherally. Mac always had things to do it the 90's whether it be raising Robin/Maxie/Georgie, Stone's story, The Kevin/Ryan story, or Katherine Bell. He's just really the epitome of a solid supporting character.
  17. That is fair. I do understand that. My point Sami should have a stronger attachment to John because that's what we saw on screen previously. It's just really hard to know what happy family times the Marlena/Roman family unit had because Eric/Sami were shipped off for the holidays as kids and AS came back as Sami in Jan I think? that next year, so they weren't gone long before the SORASing. It was only a month or so in real time. Anyhow, I totally see your point. I just had a hard time wrapping my head around that Roman/Sami bond, but I also think I am overthinking it. The Sami stuff that makes me cringe is the post-Affair reveal time when she was really clingy with him and Roman allowed it and almost reveled in her hatred for Marlena. Sami's lifelong obsession with her parents being together long into her adulthood has always been strange to me.
  18. I know an Esme in real life too. I actually know a 30 year Gladys (it was a family name and she goes by Grace), but these names exist. I don't think I ever met a Brando though. It does sort of track for someone in Sonny's family to be named after a Godfather actor though.
  19. I mean, I liked it back then and I still like it in a rewatch. As an adult now, I keep thinking why are all these intelligent, gorgeous ladies are obsessed with men who aren't that into them? And it seemed like a lot of men were in the middle of these triangles. Looking back it seems slightly misogynist. But then again, the main villian on the show was obsessed with forcing Malena to love him, so maybe not. I just can see it from a different perspective now that I am older and all of JER's triangles sort of followed the same formula. 2 good people, 1 psycho.
  20. Sami has been shown to be incredibly smart, so okay, maybe she figured that medical stuff out. I'll allow that. Finding someone on the black market to kidnap your own sister? A little less likely. Marlena/Roman not immediately getting her massive amounts of help when they realize she kidnapped her own sister because she was "jealous"? Not stellar parenting... I don't know if I judge Sami more for raping Austin (I do) or the fact she thought Austin was the pinnacle of boyfriend material. I was a fan of the Austin/Carrie/Sami storyline back in the day. The one thing I couldn't stand about JER is all these women doing crazy, crazy things to hold on to men that didn't want them and were in love with someone else. Yeah, Peter did it with Jennifer, but it seemed to be almost completely female psycho focused in these triangles.
  21. I felt like Sami was absolutely manipulating the situation. Yeah, Roman might divorce Marlena, but you think falsifying paternity tests and kidnapping was going to help. She went from troubled to criminal in 0 to 60. Plus, as a rape victim herself has she ever taken ownership of raping Austin?
  22. I don't think the show explained it, but maybe the trauma of her mom dying, her dad having a new face, her mom coming back, the dad she thought was her dad her entire life not being her dad, and a new guy with the original face being her actual dad might have f*cked her up. Also, she was always sent away to Colorado for long periods. Plus, people liked Carrie better. And she had to watch her mom have sex with her non-dad on a conference table. It's traumatic I think. Not enough for the 25 years of bitching she's done about it but enough at the time.
  23. Well, I think Wayne could have pulled it off as opposed to Drake playing John as bad. I totally think the motivation would be there for Roman with just the fact he was held captive for 7 years and a man took over his life with pretty much no questions asked lol. I think it's a very interesting idea, but JER/SA seemed to want to focus on the lovestory aspect moreso than the personal effect it had on Roman/John. The whole triangle/quad was practically dropped for a year, so I actually was surprised when they brought the John/Marlena relationship back. I do think the affair changed Marlena/Roman/John more than towels in the bathroom. It put a chink in John and especially Marlena's perfection that took her years to recover from. Because honestly they had sex twice and people acted like John/Marlena were meeting at the local Motel6 for years lol. Well, it's also annoying Marlena (and John to a lesser degree) let Sami manipulate them into keeping the affair a secret. I am not even sure why these two adults let Sami dictate their lives. And seriously, Roman let Sami treat Marlena like crap before and after he learned of the affair. He didn't nothing to help the situation at all and seem to enjoy Sami being horrible to her own mother.
  24. There is definitely a way your scenario could have worked as well. I am not sure I would like Roman as a darker character though. It certainly would have helped the characters staying power to perhaps manipulate Marlena into staying with him knowing she was in love with John. More of a grey situation than truly villianous. I'd be pissed and resentful too if I were Roman. Roman was already looking bad with just his behavior before/during/after the affair, so why not? Carrie should have been more teamRoman, but CC had a long established relationship/chemistry with Drake as her father so it worked that they would just naturally be closer. They always had such a lovely relationship. Plus, I don't think that weird, bratty TM version of Carrie ever felt like she liked Roman or anyone lol. Obviously, the whole Sami stuff and seeing John/Marlena was just a plot point to make Sami evil. It was just a disservice to the viewers because 1. the Roman/Marlena timeline of raising them was so unclear-they were a 'family' maybe a year 2. There was very little onscreen bond established between AS/WN as father and daughter before the affair 3. I am not sure why it would be the end of the world for her if John/Marlena ended up together vs. Roman/Marlena. It wasn't like John was a weird stranger. He raised her as a single parent for years-which he never got much credit for. Like, the twins would have been orphans without him. 4. It really would have helped if Eric were around as well to maybe balance out Sami's obsession with Roman and make him closer to John. Anyhow, I have more praise than complaints over Sami's descent into bad girl, but it does seem like a bit of an overreaction given the history we watched onscreen.
