Good scene in a bad story
I actually thought that was a pretty clever scene too if not too JER with the lack of subtlety.

Lol! I actually have one in the box that my mom bought for me in 1999/2000. 😬 Good to know there is a market still, but I want to say they were really expensive when they came out. Maybe even more than that lol. There is an Erica Kane one too and I think I have that somewhere as well.

Susan made it for Marlena for her wedding day to John in 2018. She even copied the 1999 dress from their wedding, so it's supposed to be a one-of-a-kind gift. Susan gave it to her on screen back then and Marlena just kept it in a box all these years. So it's odd in that it's a handcrafted doll Susan decided to make as a wedding gift, but it's not a mass market doll others can buy in Salem USA.

Billy's had that heart tat for at least a few months now. I noticed it when he was grieving Abby's death. It's distracting and not my favorite. Rachel is a demon. The actress is a cute little girl though that looks nothing like Brady/Kristen. And can we just take a minute to think about how convoluted Kristen's plan was? Spend lots of time dressing and making herself up to be Susan, pray Brady finds her before the other people living in the house do, make up an entire story about her and EJ, tell another entire story about feeling sad about Susan, and hope Brady sees her in a new light because she shed a few tears? That is so much effort for the most minimal of payoffs lol. I have trouble buying the Kristen evil mastermind narrative when she comes up with idiotic plots like this.

Thankful for anything on soaps from 2000-today?
I would have to say 2 returns come to mind for me. Brenda on GH in 2002 and Eileen's 1st return as Kristen on Days.

This really has nothing to do with the current non-topic of Chase/Sasha, but I have been meaning to ask this. What is that creepy giant taxidermy rat in Sonny's office? Is it a Possum? A racoon? Why is it there? I was so distracted looking at it yesterday when Valentin and Sonny were talking lol.

I agree with both of you. There was still story there and it was one of the best stories coming out of that time period. I do agree Ron might have tried to make Jan/Shawn a legit couple too though! It looks like they are heading back to EJ/Nicole which I am not mad about either. That was dropped too quickly as well. I liked the twist today of Eric drinking. And Marlena/John finally working together to figure this Brady/Kristen crap out. Lol at Kristen telling Rachel to call Marlena Grandma Mar Mar!

You touch on a lot of great points on your post. I agree about Rafe. I don't think anyone here likes Rafe, but you're right-it makes Nicole look bad. Objectively, Rafe was a good husband, married her in good faith, repeatedly ask her if she had feelings for Eric, and she lied only to drop him the first moment Eric looked her way again. We all give it a pass because no one was invested in Rafe/Nicole, but it's not a good look for Nicole as a character. I think EJ/Belle got cut off more because of Ali Sweeney leaving than anything else. Shawn/Belle are clearly not a major focus for the writers, but I think Sami vs. Belle over EJ was too good to pass up. Once all those contract issues occurred with Ali (which I still don't get-I thought she was supposed to be on way more than she was) the show just let the triangle/quad die because the show had no investment without Sami.

Yeah, like I said in last month's thread-today's Eric/Nicole scenes were fantastic. I don't think they get the best writing, but I do think they get some of the best written scenes. I thought their marriage break up was well done too. It's clear someone BTS (or script writer) is a fan. I have a hard time believing Jada got an abortion too, but her emotions seem real. Obviously, I don't think she'd tell Kate the truth, but I didn't get the feeling she was lying. It would be so GH for Days to blow such a big potential storyline though lol. I have to say Shawn/Belle's time really passed about 15 years ago. I don't see them ever being more than secondary characters. Obviously the writers aren't interested and MM and BB are pretty dull. Shawn didn't even get to be on Beyond Salem 2 with his own damn parents lol.

He is, isn't he lol? Since Eric being a priest is a large part of the character I wish they would let him talk about it. It's not clear why he even became a priest or how he feels about the Church. I still feel like it's out of character for him to even enter a casual sexual relationship with Jada without any guilt or at least some reflection. As far as today, the Eric/Nicole scenes were great! They touched on a lot of issues I have had with Eric/Nicole-i.e. nothing about either has really changed since they broke up the last time. I am glad Nicole didn't get full blame for Jada's decision. Nicole was manipulative but she doesn't bear the responsibility of another grown woman's decision. I am not sure how I feel about Kate/Jada's friendship. It's an interesting choice, but random. I do feel someone like Kayla would be a better choice. The Chanel stuff is not great. Sloane is being played as such a villian. It's hard to feel any sympathy for her when she has no redeeming qualities. And, man, Allie can be really pushy and obnoxious lol.

Yeah, I immediately though she was still pregnant just by the last scene yesterday. I don't get the feeling Jada necessarily wants Eric or wants to manipulate him exactly. If she is still pregnant she is just doing that old self-sacrificing trope to protect everyone as the reason for her deception. If she is still pregnant it would have been a less inflammatory choice for Jada to say she had a miscarriage. I think this is Days trying to be edgy or progressive here. The show didn't seem to be going there over the right to choose to begin with. Eric instantly accepted it was her choice, but he didn't like the circumstances or how she went about it. I thought there would have been a little more push back from Eric too. I find Eric's beliefs and behavior rarely line up with the Catholic Church. In fact, Eric doesn't seem particularly religious lol.

Ben aside, which agreed. He did ruin her. The way Ciara would dress would take me out of her scenes a lot and made me almost dislike VK because I felt it was her choice to look that sexy when the scene didn't call for it. That actually makes me kind of petty, but I don't need to see her boobs to know she's beautiful and hot lol. Marci Miller was the opposite-dressing super dowdy and prairie. Everything MM, CB, and VK wore/wear are on trend, but they don't fit the character they are playing. I think Chloe and Chanel are two characters that dress very on trend but still appropriate for their characters.

Well, I don't know how it would work on GH with people coming back from the dead. I don't think logic can apply in this scenario since it really isn't something that would happen very often or ever in real life lol. Again I only know what the people that handle my 401k tell me about stocks, but is it possible the public trading of the shares just gets smaller instead? Since Edward said all LIVING grandkids it is a bit different than Caroline Kennedy having to give up money because JFK specifically named her in his will not any living children that might pop up. So if baby Monroe Kennedy appeared Caroline wouldn't have to give up anything.

Gabi usually looks okay. She's on the sexy side, but Ciara was another level. Even her 9 months pregnant maternity outfits were super short and low cut lol.

DAYS: November 2022 Discussion Thread ⌛
I am excited for the confrontation too. I still think Nicole is going to get way too much blame. She was wrong and ridiculous, but if Jada was that easily swayed to have an abortion by one conversation with someone she doesn't like or respect it's clear Jada wasn't fully committed to the pregnancy. The thing about Gabi is she was wearing a weather appropriate, cute coat, so I am not sure how the dress/tunic/shirt she was wearing got past wardrobe. The dress is not only seasonally off it's completely skimpy and ugly. It's not only ridiculously short, but completely open with some sort of lingerie showing lol. Even if CB is dressing herself-someone should have stepped in BTS even if it wasn't costuming lol

DAYS: November 2022 Discussion Thread ⌛
I know Nicole will get the brunt of the blame (and she deserves some), but the whole situation was handled poorly by all parties involved. I know it was early in the pregnancy and things were changing quickly, but Eric wasn't communicating with Nicole properly nor did he really have a plan. And of course Jada is making a bunch of quick decisions without telling Eric (I assume she's still pregnant though). Frankly, if Nicole/Eric were planning on being together the three of them should have just sat down together and discussed the pregnancy and plans before any decisions were made. But that wouldn't be soapy, so I guess we are on to break up 1 million for Eric/Nicole.

I don't think Ned has anything to lose. He backed out of the deal because of it, so he's in the clear as far as I can tell. Tbh, I don't really care about Carly being beholden to the Q's after all the hoops she made them jump through for Michael. Idk why Ned cares though. Perhaps he's doing a solid for his off screen bff Brenda lol? I think Carly's son being a Q and part of the merger is much more damaging than Drew though. At this point I don't really expect Carly to have any real issue based romances. It still feels like we are biding are time until the inevitable Carson reunion, so why even develop the relationship beyond the usual? I am not disagreeing with your solid ideas I just don't think we are supposed to truly invest in Sonny/Carly's non-Carson pairings.

General Hospital: November 2022 Discussion Thread
Didn't Jason's kids get his stock? I would assume Sam controls Danny's, but I don't know who controls Jake's. Liz I think? As far as the insider trading stuff, I think Carly knowing about the merger and investing a ton of money in Aurora before the merger was finalized is illegal and enough to get in serious trouble. Any way you look at it, Carly was standing to profit significantly from a tip she got from Drew that the public had no knowledge of. The merger didn't happen, but Ned could still report them if he wanted to. My understanding is that it's much harder to prove insider trading if Carly/Drew are just casual friends and not in a romantic relationship. Anyhow, I would assume the fact that Michael is Carly's son would be way more damning evidence than Drew/Carly's possible relationship, but whatever. Obviously, someone with a better working knowledge of finance and this sort of thing can correct me if I am wrong though.

No one's talking about the fact Nancy/Mike are dating off screen? How random. I got that vibe when they talked however long ago. Does this mean Nancy's just gone? No farewell?

DAYS: Behind the Scenes, Articles/Photos
I think Carrie was supposed to be an older soul, but I don't think that was explicitly stated. She also had a lot of male friends (Jonah, Mike, Lucas). In her first wedding to Austin her bridesmaids were Billie (involved with her uncle), Gina/Hope (her aunt lol), Marlena (her step mom), and Wendy (who's forgettable). And putting aside Wendy, who was barely used, all these women had their own group of friends their own age. Even Sami had Jamie. I suspect it was less about Carrie and more about JER wanting Carrie to be the only young heroine in that age range and didn't bother adding anyone else. But when you think about it Carrie's never really had a female friend her entire run her age. Marlena was basically her BFF 🤣

Well, I don't know if I would say Godfrey was the best thing to happen to Sarah, but she happened lol. I am not really sure why no one brought Sarah back earlier. I could see her fitting easily into the JER Sami/Carrie/Austin/Lucas/Mike group or being brought back instead of Maggie having the insta daughter Summer. Either writers had no interest or didn't do the research. Regardless, I do think Sarah was a pretty blank slate despite her early run.
