  1. SHE IS SO TALENTED, I LOVE THIS WOMAN
  2. Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaah! Now I aaaaaabsolutely MUST catch up! I'm like... weeks behind. I've been lost in the hurricane that is Anna Karenina, reading that cursed (in a good way) book non-stop for days... and I haven't even watched a single show. I'm really starting to miss BTG. Dear Hamilton Widow... I'm coming back to you soon! 🩷
  3. I'm in the middle of Anna Karenina. Pretty much... when I'm not working or doing chores... or with my husband... I'm on the Kindle with Anna, Levin, Oblonsky and the rest of the bunch. It's much better than I remember it, in my teenage years I did love it, but very superficially... Now I'm basically walking with the kindle to the store... and I'm tearing up reading... Have to hide my tears so people don't notice.
  4. 1/5 of Anna Karenina... Chileeee the dramaaaaaaaa.
  5. So the kindle oasis 3 arrived this morning... and I've been absolutely obsessed with it. Such a premium feeling device. I can't believe I let my bad memory of the first kindle I used as a teen... stop me from buying one. IT'S MAGIC. I read Anna Karenina, the Yale Press edition on it... I was planning to read the Magarshack version, but I changed my mind in the end (still have the paperback and use it to compare sentences), since I wanted to experience a newer... translation.
  6. https://www.billboard.com/lists/taylor-swift-hot-100-the-fate-of-ophelia-nine-weeks/ Taylor Swift’s ‘The Fate of Ophelia’ Becomes Her Sole Longest-Leading Hot 100 Hit, Surpassing ‘Anti-Hero’
  7. The show is indeed showing signs of life... and that's a huge compliment coming from me. Now if the dialogue can be improved a bit... I miss Mulcahey. I miss when he would write Brooke's dialogue and she would come off really bitchy and bold.
  8. In the mood for some pre-psychosis Britney!
  9. Wow, I had no idea about this! Thanks for letting me know and for sharing that clip - she totally looks like Dorian Lord in it! (Not that I expected anything that different) But the hair is almost identical, just a bit more relaxed, which suits her as well. I just don't want it straight... ever. I'm definitely adding this to my list of reasons to watch Knots Landing - I recorded the entire series when it was on some primetime channel online... that was months ago. Even though I know it's on streaming, I really wanted to have it recorded with the subtitles and just couldn't trust these platforms if they will keep it or remove it, since they do it every other week. Which season does she show up in? I was recently watching an episode from 1980... Dorian was flirting with Clint... (their chemistry was incredible) and at one point, I completely lost track of time as the scene went on and on. When it finally ended, I realized just how LONG it was. I also realized how this allowed me to immerse myself in the characters' world, almost adapt to it. Dorian appears to have a bright future ahead of her, she's likable and her scheming is a note more subtle. This makes it seem more dangerous. I hope to see more of these "glimmers" as you wonderfully put it. Malone has shown me he can write and maintain complex characters, despite some missteps like Tina and Alex (which they are still trying to figure out). Maybe I'm being too optimistic... we'll see. 🙂
  10. I did it. I bought a Kindle. Last time I had a device like this was probably more than a decade ago. I hated it back then. I despised ebooks ever since. But now since I am spending ridiculous amount of money on books... I decided okay that needs to stop before I turn the apartment into book lover hoarders episode. And I ordered kindle oasis 3 from 2019... Because it was the only kindle with a design that spoke to me. I need the buttons. I hope I can adjust to it.
  11. Krista Allen would make gold out of Bradley's piss. And she also added humour to it. The role was so fresh when she played it. I feel sad even thinking about how we don't have her anymore. I am still not over it.
  12. Sounds like Malone was in his Blackout Britney 2007 era. 🤭 Absolutely. I'm sure they took that in mind and worked more to her strengths. It makes me even more excited to see what Malone and Griffith will do with Strasser now in the role. Love all your observations @DRW50. That part amused me too. The humour and playfulness she displays remind me of the 1980 era younger woman I see in the German episodes - beautiful and romantic. P.S. I'm excited for Viki to come back and see her with Jason. Now that she's a confirmed adulteress... the usual high and mighty attitude won't cut it. Dorian can play with younger men all she wants, at least she's not married.
  13. Ah, what an intriguing question. To be honest… No. I can't. And this isn't a jab at Princi - it's a testament to the uniqueness of both actresses. That "playful, naughty" vibe that Strasser exudes... simply can't be duplicated. Princi had her own sensual aura - leaning more towards the melancholic, dramatic end of the spectrum. Her Dorian was a woman walking on the edge of sanity, desperately clinging to Jason, her eyes full of despair. This is entirely consistent with how Malone wrote for her - a troubled woman, burdened by a lifetime of unresolved traumas. A beautiful dark cloud. Strasser’s Dorian, however… even when she’s kneeling in the woods... when they’ve set her up to be as submissive as possible - STILL gives off power. That smile of hers... she uses it like armor. When under attack, she appears unfazed, an early 90s Regina George, and when she responds - it's like she derives genuine pleasure from seeing other people squirm. That’s precisely why I love both so much. That said... if I were truly DARED to choose one... (with a theatrical tear in my left eye) I’d have to say - Strasser. In a bizarre way, it almost feels like I'm cheating on my favorite, but... Strasser just came in and stole my heart. ❤️ That was the last thing I expected to happen. Forgive me, Elaine! P.S. In those recent scenes with Jason, I caught glimpses of the early-1980s Dorian in her expressions. That woman has that "forever young" thing going on and I don't know how she does it. She is stunning.
