  1. ...and so was Debbi Morgan.
  2. Peter Parros (Dr. Ben Harris, ATWT) was at the opening of the Tyler Perry Studios.
  3. Oh, I hope she does go to prison.
  4. In another thread, we were discussing/imagining a Ken Burns style documentary on the history of the Daytime drama and, in the back of my mind, I immediately thought that Laurence Caso should be included in any documentary on the subject because he strikes me as someone who would be insightful when asked questions. The rest of them (that are still with us) seem highly defensive and egotistical (ahem, I'm looking at you, JFP and Goutman)
  5. Although I plan to read the article, I can't never forget that The Daily Beast also has their own serious issues.
  6. Foreign policy? What foreign policy? Trump's no longer even pretending to have one.
  7. Thanks for posting. This is a succinct thread. It really confirms what I said about the Trump administration doing the least in Syria (as the Kurds did the majority of the fighting) as he's wanted to extricate the U.S. from that area since he took the oath of office, regardless of the reality or the consequences. As McGurk says, Trump doesn't care about any of the people in Syria. Although no one will say this publicly, Trump's pronouncement on Turkey and then Turkey's response a few hours later, reeks of a plan in the making for quite some time. Trump has got investments (i.e. money) tied up in Turkey and we know how much Trump cares about money, far more than he cares about the American people. I guess the Syrians aren't the only ones that Trump could care less about.
  8. Did you see my tweet on the previous page?
  9. This was planned. Also, no one is afraid of Trump's bluster and pseudo-threats. Just ask North Korea.
  10. I honestly think it's a confluence of factors but Trump is heavily invested in two out of three of those countries. It's not secret that he has two towers in Turkey and we all know that money comes first with Trump. He needs to appease Erdogan to keep his investments safe. Erdogan as does his government hates the Kurds. Putin wanted the U.S. out of Syria for years. KSA has a distrust and dislike for Iran that stretches back to the Iranian Revolution. Trump also has investments in KSA. Trump wanted to have towers in Russia but has been thwarted going back to the late 1980s, he's been trying to curry favor ever since. As corrupt as things in Russia might have become under Yeltsin, at least Yeltsin showed some care for the Russian people. I don't even think that Putin cares about a soul except himself (and maybe his daughter, perhaps the bond that he and Trump share) but I think the wheeling and dealing is actually all in plain sight with Trump. IMO it's about showing the evidence. The tax returns, I suspect will reveal a whole lot of financial chicanery similar to what the Trump family has been known to pull in NYC real estate.
  11. Apparently, the BBC Africa bureau don't play! They have put this documentary up on YouTube today. Hope it isn't geo-blocked because I'd like to see it later. I gave a quick check and it looks as if the video is not geo-blocked.
  12. Didn't this happen late Saturday night/early Sunday? He still hasn't mentioned it.
  13. The more I think about this pronouncement by Trump, the more I think of the possibility of it being just as much of reaction to the fact that he will have to turn over 8 years worth of tax returns to the Manhattan D.A. Think of how long Trump has been fighting against his tax returns ever being scrutinized, and a federal judge ruled against his blocking of his tax returns being sent to the SDNY. I think this could be a bigger deal than people are acknowledging.
  14. Speaking of Harris, The Daily Beast will have to do better at hiding their misogynoir. People have caught on that they have credited Buttigeig for being the first to put out a specific proposal when it was already done by Harris.
  15. Even though the timing seems in sync with reaction to the impeachment investigation, this is something that has been in the works for sometime. Putin wants the U.S. out of Syria, he's wanted that for a long time and Trump has been looking for ways to get out of Iraq and has been not-so-quietly extracting troops out of Syria. That it's something that Turkey also wants due to their distrust and intense dislike (bordering on hatred) for the Kurds is secondary. Putin/Russia runs the show in that region of Syria. Also, the Kurds have been pretty much fighting ISIS almost on their own with little to no major U.S. help has been going on for well over a year now. Like I said upthread, Trump's foreign policy has pretty much been a scattershot mess since the day he took office. The "announcement" has been timed to give the impression that it is for maximum impact over the impeachment business but this has been in the works for sometime. Like @DRW50 mentioned with the Wizard Of Oz reference--Trump wants people to believe that he is all powerful and if you come against him, there will be hell to pay but like Kamala Harris referenced in the last debate, Trump is really just a guy behind a curtain. I also say, he's a guy behind a curtain who is taking orders from Putin and bluffing us all, the way he did to get into the WH in the first place.
  16. The shooting that is so far, garnering little attention. I suspect Trump won't use this mass shooting as a distraction talking point, since the victims (as well as the assailants) are Latino. Two of the the victims are also Mexican nationals.
  17. The SDNY is coming for Trump and it's what he absolutely deserves.
  18. I prefer to call him a filthy piece of toerag, like his buddy across the Atlantic. Speaking of the toerag in the WH, the Trump administration's foreign policy continues to be trash. No one in the MSM seems to want to call out how terrible the Trump administration's foreign policy has been. It has flopped by almost every measure, in every corner of the world.
  19. Big up, Guyana! I have a good friend who is Guyanese. Well, I guess coming up with insulting nicknames for adversaries is better than admitting that your diplomatic ventures are all failures and you got played by North Korea. I mean, Kim basically got the clout that he was seeking at the U.S.' expense.
