Oh well, gotta admit that I don't care what Djokovic's fate is. Send him out of Oz. If he gets sent off, won't miss him. At all. It's the people who had to miss loved one's passages, births and other important milestones that I was thinking about. Sloppy paperwork was also a factor, allegedly.

B&B: Old/Classic Discussion & Articles
Clarke Garrison was B&B version of "Tad The Cad", many soaps in the 1980s seemed to have their own version to varying degrees of success, but McVicar did a very good job of walking that tightrope. He's a character that could return to the canvas and if written competently, could be highly effective, with McVicar in the role. Don't hit me, but I actually think he and Teri Ann Linn had easy chemistry together. It's giving me ideas, lol. In that initial run, McVicar was so effective of leaving Clarke ambiguous where his true feelings lay. Of course, the writing also made this possible. You were always wondering if and to what extent was it possible that Clarke, on some level was capable of true love of another person?

Not sure this will actually come to pass.

Coronavirus/Covid-19 Discussion Thread
Have people been hearing about that massive traffic jam on I-95 in VA? Someone asked the question of why there were no National Guard to hand out food, water and supplies to stranded motorists and someone else replied- "They're all helping in the ER" So anyone who doesn't believe that rising COVID infection rates have an impact beyond numbers should really think about a scenario such as this. It's not just about available hospital beds, it's about the impact of stretched resources and overtaxed personnel.

There's an article about the wedding in People magazine. Sloane and Jozy left empty seats for the loved ones unable to attend the wedding, including Sloane's grandparents who died from COVID-19 earlier this year.

Then it's probably too risky for him to be out there playing in a pandemic. At one time, there were Australian citizens missing funerals and births of family members because the Australian government wouldn't allow them in, yet they're willing to make an exception. Why?

As many times as I dipped out on this show, I shouldn't have known the answer to this but I did. Wow, some soap fans are some basic -------. 😂

Y&R and B&B Early 2022 spoilers
Skye was a much more versatile character. You got the sense that the character had the potential to be paired with, or adversarial with any number of other characters. Skye and Adam easily had a co-conspiratorial relationship, sort of Bonnie and Clyde-ish. It's a shame that the character was discharged, and in such a stupid way, that awful and absurd volcano story, gimme a break!🙄 Ironically, had Skye been kept, Chloe might not have appeared so redundant. With both Chelsea and Chloe on the canvas simultaneously, not only did they overlap personality-wise, one seemed to relegate the other to redundancy.

Does Gettr and whatever other crap social site exists not do it for those folks? There's no rule that says that everyone must be on Twitter. Believe it, or not, not everyone is on Facebook and it's an even bigger platform.

As The World Turns Discussion Thread
Jennifer Keishin Armstrong, who wrote that wonderful book When Women Invented Television that has been trending in the wake of Betty White's passing, seems to have disappeared from social media (I could have sworn she was once on Twitter) also wrote about Irna Phillips in great detail. I had hoped to message her regarding this because I believe she briefly wrote about running into stumbling blocks concerning classic episodes of ATWT and GL, as well as episodes of the classic 1950s sitcom The Goldbergs. She would also be a great person who can speak about the validity of preserving and sharing classic episodes. At some point, I will summon the will to contact her. Julianne Moore would be a fantastic spokesperson for this but I am not sure how accessible she truly is. I mean, if someone tweeted her, would she reply?

I will never stop berating them for their lack of vision. B&B was never my favorite soap (or even 2nd favorite, for that matter), but they have shown that putting up classic episodes can indeed be done. And honestly, they are not putting in that much of an effort but the visual quality of episodes they post is largely better than most of the episodes of ATWT posted on YT. I mean, P&G, show some pride, lol.

Very sad. Very true. Even the lack of preservation efforts with these shows' episodes, says a whole lot.

As The World Turns Discussion Thread
I can't claim to be a faithful viewer of The Fresh Prince, so I can't tell you when things became stale on that series but it's interesting to hear Will Smith talk about when he believes the show "jumped the shark" (sometime in Season 4, I think he said). For all his faults, at least Smith aimed for a dignified ending for the sitcom. I just don't feel the same about ATWT. It looked so down and out at the end.

As The World Turns Discussion Thread
This is basically what I did, with lengthy gaps in viewing. It was jarring each time to see how the show had degraded from where it once had been with each viewing. When I compare the ending of ATWT and GL to other soaps like Search For Tomorrow, it just seems as if those earlier daytime dramas ended with a bit more dignity. I'm in the middle of listening to the Will Smith memoir and in the midst of a chapter where he remembers the time when the decision about whether to end or continue The Fresh Prince Of Bel Aire and recounts a conversation he had with John Amos, where Amos talks about his firing from Good Times and the lack of dignity in which it was done, as well as in how the series eventually ended, it made Will Smith remember how it made him feel when he watched James Evans being killed off and how the series ended and impacted his decision on how and when the show would end. He recalled telling the cast before the season began, so they could prepare and make moves for what they wanted to do next. From what I have heard from the actors, most expressed shock, despite the fact that they knew the show had been in decline for years. And to me, it showed on camera. Everything looked so forlorn. Personally, any time I tuned in during the last decade, the show looked cheap and degraded, the storylines seemed careless.

And you're right to feel this way. I had the opportunity to watch the FX one some time ago and it fell flat, it didn't really offer any added insight. It reminded me of those VH1 "I love the ____" series, except far less entertaining. Speaking of offering new insights, the Lifetime TV documentary, it seems like it may offer a different perspective.

Y&R: Tony Morina accused of sexual harassment. Sony being sued.
I read when @Errol posted an article in the SoapLine thread. I was parsing Sony's "legalese" but it seems as though they are going for some types of plausible deniability. The line about the company only speaking on behalf of themselves and no other party. Would the other party be Anthony Morina?

He already pulled some weird stunt in the subway, and is being ratioed for it, so not off to the best of beginnings. He needs to focus. In other parts of the world- This was a sad read. A good friend of mine who is South Korean has said she would never marry a Korean man and I never understood it, thought it was somewhat extreme a mindset to hold but reading this article made me think of her and why she might think this way.
