  1. Cable is pretty much a scam and has been a scam for the last 20 years. A scam with loads of prestige and a scam nonetheless. Sad but true that a large percentage of the American public has an aversion to paying taxes, even when they are not the ones required to pay more, even if it will benefit society. The last occupant of the White House got elected, never having had to show a proper accounting of his tax returns. 🥴💀
  2. Would that I were in a position to toss $9 million away! According to what I read, the House Party reboot is now stalled and the Scoob sequel has also gone the way of Batgirl. Warner is claiming that the decision to shelve Batgirl had nothing to do with quality but that sounds dubious at best. Let’s say Warner is telling the truth and it wasn’t about the quality of the movie. It must have to do with HBO Max or HBO not performing up to expectations. I wonder if HBO in creating HBO Max might have cannibalized their main network. The ESPN/Disney model doesn’t work for everyone.
  3. They’ve got their hands in Russia’s wallet, we all where their motivation for these comments are coming from.
  4. Wow, Brittney Griner had been sentenced to nine years in prison in Russia. Irrespective of whether a prisoner swap can be arranged, that’s still a harsh sentence for some CBD oil. EDT. it was hashish oil, I stand corrected. For a first time offense though? No intent to sell or distribute.
  5. That, I do not like the idea of. I know they are assuming that people are already subscribing to the paid tier for other programming, but it is still conceivable that there are people who don’t subscribe to the paid tier, or Days viewers who are still unfamiliar with Peacock entirely and only watch soaps on network. Soap fans are special, some still complain about the Daytime Emmys being streamed online in the past. There may be some resistance to the very idea of a show that used to air on network paid for by ads, to go to a paid service. Why not at least try a FAST model first?
  6. I saw the headline this morning on CBS Morning, and it didn’t surprise me because Beyoncé has had to recall and remove a song from an album in the past. Like I said upthread, it happed with Des’ree’s song, which was also used without her permission.
  7. It’s the end of an era, that’s for sure. Soap fans in general certainly have a different attitude when it comes to online viewing of soaps now compared to a decade ago with the TOLN soaps. Is Days really moving to the paid tier?
  8. Oh wow, I just read about this. I am not anywhere near a regular Days viewer, but as a fan of the genre, I hope Days can buck the cancellation trend of the last decade and a half and somehow find new life online. NBC will have no daytime dramas on their terrestrial network. Just wow. This also makes me wonder, how Days will be placed in future Daytime Emmys categories?
  9. For some reason, People magazine did a reup of the reunion on their YouTube channel. Since I didn’t see it in 2017, I’m going to watch it later.
  10. Sorry to hear that @Liberty City. Hopefully you are feeling okay and will make a swift and complete recovery.
  11. Salute to for Joanna Johnson.👏🏾 She always gives her all. Congratulations to her and the rest of the cast/crew. Renewals aren’t easy these days, in this television/media landscape.
  12. Sorry to hear about you’re getting COVID-19 @Vee. Wishing you a speedy recovery back to full strength. In terms of the accidental delivery of Alex Jones’ phone data/messages, some people believe there are no accidents. Whatever it was, it’s karmic justice afaic and I hope the penalties for Jones are high and numerous. He’s a horrible person who deserves to be made to hand over every last cent to the people whose lives he has made unbearable. He also deserves jail time.
  13. Do you think that Kansas will turn out to be a bellwether state?
  14. 😂 They all have a great sense of humor about the whole thing.
  15. Will that be streamed? Facebook or YouTube? This story played out so much better than this promo would suggest. CBS— When they got it right, they got it right. When they didn’t…oh boy!😐
  16. Did you peep Tessa Campanelli’s reaction to Joey in all his glory? The show really played the long game in how they played that story out. Those one-line zingers were everything! “Hi Daddy!” - Kathleen to expectant father Shane ” I’m a wench!” -an excited Melanie. ” I must have order!” -Snake, no doubt preparing for life as a high school teacher and administrator. ”This stupid piece of junk!” -Joey, future car dealership owner, as he angrily kicks the tire of his car. Spike, contemplating her unplanned pregnancy possibly ruining her life, as the peppy music and closing credits zip through. Spike, the mother of the next Degrassi generation. I hope this person does more Degrassi High, there’s so much more material to draw from. Also, I love how everyone basically failed driver’s Ed except for Nancy, who on Monday would drive into the Degrassi parking lot, with best friend Tim in tow, riding in what looks like a shiny new mini-coupe.😂
  17. It seems like Kelis’ true beef is with the Neptunes over song credits. If she did indeed get screwed out of song credits, as she contends, she needs to pursue that legally. Her stated contention with Beyoncé is what she perceived as the disrespect between two Black women in the music industry because according to her, Beyoncé didn’t even give her a “heads up” that the song was being released, although she did admit to being sensitive. Let’s not pretend that Beyoncé has never been sued though. Des’ree successfully sued and got an entire album pulled so that Des’ree’s song could be taken off the album before Beyoncé’s album was re-released. Also, speaking of Lemonade, didn’t a visual artist have lawyers issue Beyoncé and her record company a “cease and desist” order because the video used artwork without the artist’s permission? Beyoncé has interpolated other artist’s work, it’s just that very few have done anything about it, probably many have considered it flattering. I did like the concept of Lemonade and I found it amusing how uncomfortable some people were with the album. Admittedly, I do prefer Solange’s work, as an artist, I like when artists take risks and draw on traditions to create something completely different.
  18. My Lord, what is this day? What are these last few days?
  19. That’s some practice session.
  20. Without a doubt, these people are simply awful.
  21. Is AMC trending for anyone else?
  22. @victoria foxton Here’s a good example of what I was talking about. This article talks about a dance piece that full frontal nudity, both men and women, being recalled by another PBS station and only shown in the NYC area. https://www.nytimes.com/1972/02/20/archives/dont-look-now-busby-but-some-of-those-dancers-are-nude.html
  23. I remember PBS showing a LOT of nudity when I was a kid. 😂 Channel 13 was surprisingly explicit, mostly after 8 pm on weekends though.
  24. Okay, this is old school DH but whoever did this has my gratitude because this video had me screaming!😂🤣
  25. Even the states where abortion bans are unlikely to happen need to improve their resources but wow, the states where abortion bans are happening have horrendous numbers. The mortality rates and teenage births are incredibly high.
