  1. She would no doubt bring out that painful desperation for Jason that was so clear in how she used to look at him, especially when she was living with the Quartermaines.
  2. I am having fun watching, much more fun than the regular show. I am into this version of Will and Sonny. Tinker is great. Hope really would have been a natural fit for this story. It reminds me a little of GH:Nightshift though. The first season was a little too close in style and tone to the regular show. The second season was much stronger without JFP/Guza. Here’s hoping there are more of these and the bts talent diversifies a little.
  3. Binging now. And as soon as I saw Carrie and Austin I just kept thinking they should be on the show. While not as iconic, they easily fit into a Marlena/Roman kind of spot from the early 1990’s, have the nostalgia factor for longtime fans, and their complicated connections with Lucas and Sami create story when those characters are around. Imagine one of Sami’s kids choosing to live with Carrie instead of her.
  4. I have thought Donna Mills has looked incredible. You know she has had work done but it is not extreme or too much. She looks great, certainly looks older, but not trying to look 30 again. Joan Collins as well- again, she looks older but like herself. Susan Lucci also looks incredible. I know diet, exercise, sunscreen, etc has played a part- but as RuPaul says I have no doubt she has been touched by an angel. Kristina Wagner also looks incredible, and Finola looks pretty great. Although there have been times over the years where I felt her work needed to settle a bit to look natural.
  5. Oh he’s an absolute idiot. But none of this- masks, social distancing, or the vaccine should have been politicized. It’s public health. I’m sick of these folks.
  6. They wasted the other side of Jax this whole time. He wasn’t a saint- he was a corporate raider. They just put him in this box and moved on. He’s just a placeholder now. He is happy to be back in Hawaii and they are asking people to stop traveling there due to COVID. I’m sure they would like him to be vaccinated too. Has he stated if he actually has or has not been vaccinated? Because many of these folks in the media have been but are still pushing this agenda.
  7. He is often illogical and irrational when it comes to women. He forgave Brenda for the wire, Carly for marrying his enemy and all her other shenanigans, he married Claudia and had sex with Ava. It’s not so out of character for him.
  8. I think the nature of the genre before home recording plays a huge part in their use of history. Bill Bell retold several stories with different characters across a couple of shows, ignored details of stories and character history when he wanted to, and dropped family ties as the characters moved on without really bringing them up again. Because they could get away with it easier due to the nature of the shows airing once and then for many people that was it. Sometimes I also think fans of the genre, and those of us that post here that are super fans, we expect every detail to always be there and them to mention every character all the time. Yes the history is important, but sometimes around here it seems like we locked into minutia. But I do think these shows should have held on to people that knew the show inside and out, and kept mentoring a new generation to do the same since they last so long.
  9. For years she tip toed around who said it. But there was an interview in the last 10 years where she said it was Gloria that said it, and she spoke to her about it right before she left in 1981. And Gloria was embarrassed that she got caught, and asked her if she would come back if the show was cleaned up. Genie recently made it seem like she would have come back sooner had they asked, but they never did until Tony was leaving. The return in 84 was done as a favor to Gloria Monty.
  10. I know Genie has said that Gloria asked her if she got the show cleaned up (drugs), would she be willing to come back when she left the first time. This was after Genie confronted her about saying Tony was the whole show and it didn’t matter if she died of an OD. But until Tony left they never asked her back in the 1980’s.
  11. I was really impressed when Claire Labine’s team had Laura visit Robin and Mac’s house, because truthfully I had forgotten that it was the Webber house before they lived there. Of course, that attic lead us down a terrible road later on. But it was a sweet scene with Laura, Lucky, and Robin. Having Frisco play such a major part of the very important Maxie/BJ story was another great and believable use of history. And Lucy’s reaction when she found out what happened. Soaps (and all continuing media) are so much better when someone is there to make sure the details count.
  12. In her We Love Soaps interview she said the production side was a mess. Old cameras and equipment, and DAYS was very modern as far as all that goes. I think she credits Tom Donovan with getting the production side up to date before the expansion to 45 minutes and poor writing got them in trouble again before Monty.
  13. I know she said she was mostly just excited by the amount of money they were paying her and acknowledges the character was not there when she got there. But it must have been frustrating to go from such a well defined character on DAYS with Bill Bell to the mess that Lesley was at first. Funny to think that by her own charisma and talent she made Lesley a lead that not only lasted, but was beloved.
  14. Well, unless his contract stipulates they can’t fire him during a cycle (I would imagine a performer like him would at least have longer than a standard 13 week cycle, I know many vet actors have negotiated for things like yearly cycles over the years) they could easily remove him during the next cycle and move on.
  15. Nichols as Stefan was one of the rare times when it did work. While I enjoyed Katherine Bell, she was not as successful as MBE was as Kayla IMO.
  16. I would love for the show to finally address their relationship. I want a frank, real conversation where Jason admits her loyalty and friendship is important to him and is the most constant relationship of his life. But the bond was because of Michael, and keeping him away from AJ, and they both have acknowledged they made mistakes that cost everyone. But that is it- they will never be more than that. No matter how much or how long Carly has wanted it. Use the history. Talk about his betrayal at almost dying doing Sonny’s work while the two of them were in bed. Talk about her involving herself in his relationships with Robin, Liz, Sam and now Britt. It could lead to tremendous growth and change for Carly, and allow Jason to have a relationship that Carly is not involved in. I don’t want them to be enemies, or not friends. I think it is just time to address what has played out onscreen since Sarah was in the role.
  17. It’s ridiculous. She actually has a personality that shows on screen and yet we see very little of her, and as you said, too much of Willow.
  18. ABC certainly had no problem firing actual fan favorites from this show for the last 20 years. Why worry now? His statements are so full of misinformation and double speak. Ugh.
  19. They really struck gold with Chase- he is a decent performer, very charming, seems to enjoy being on the show, and has chemistry with a lot of characters. He even makes Finn tolerable in scenes they share. It’s all the performer too- he’s clearly bringing some personality to his role that the show is actually recognizing. Think how many blocks of wood Frank has hired over the years to the ratio of ones that actually work out!
  20. Yeah, I also liked him before he landed on GH. And do think he just doesn’t know what to do with Peter, so his choices are all over the place. He’s no Anders Hove or Charles Keating, both of whom excelled at menacing and clever darker characters with style. I think he would have been much better as a Lucky recast, a character that could be more charming and emotional. The only reason I am okay with him being alive is that it doesn’t make Liz an accomplice to manslaughter. Her character can only take so much.
  21. And that would have been a wonderful story for someone like Audrey, especially after she lost Steve and had to confront her past after Liz was raped to better help her heal.
  22. He was incredibly memorable, and it was so great to see him on the online AMC. He was it for me as far as Erica was concerned. No other pairing after him was compelling to me.
  23. I see your point, but then again, Stone’s storyline was possibly the most important thing I watched peer aged characters going through on television at that time. I am also a gay person, and knew folks dying of AIDS. It was heartbreaking but ultimately very moving. The same thing with BJ’s heart (which was not a long illness like Stone). It would have been heartbreaking to watch Audrey decline. It would also have given her and Steve something important and worthy to do, something with a lot of humanity for them to sink their teeth into. The issue with dementia is that it doesn’t get better. It’s hard to watch that in real life, let alone in entertainment. Truthfully, AIDS was kind of similar, in that it slowly, one illness at a time, breaks a person down until they have no immunity left to fight anything. But I am still glad they told that story.
