  1. She did change it, but I can't say she was wrong. The brain damage twist just made the character even more cold and unlikeable, which was quite a feat. I've always thought his being such a selfish [!@#$%^&*] throughout 1993 was one of the reasons that fans were willing to accept Lily/Damian. I always remember that scene where Emma finally had enough and berated him for repeatedly dumping the son he supposedly wanted so much on her all the time while he spent time with his latest girlfriend's child. I can't say I was surprised to learn he then dumped that child off on Julie, as we all know what a good mother she was!
  2. I didn't know that was her first. You're right, she is natural. They're a bit of an odd fit but they work. It's too bad it never went anywhere. So did future writers decide to just forget Greg and his mother ever existed? What did you think of Elena? Do you wish she'd stayed around? Tori is so annoying and dull to me in most of the clips I watch of her. Do you think that's unfair? This clip sort of feels like the best of Dobsons 1.0 (the Sophia and CC talk) and some of their poorer excesses (everything afterward...especially the music cues)
  3. Lesley Dunlop is a very good actress. I don't know if you ever saw her brain tumor storyline but she was excellent. Aaron is in for beating up Finn's ex-boyfriend.
  4. Ugh. https://www.theguardian.com/us-news/2017/mar/08/china-warns-trump-facing-head-on-collison-north-korea
  5. They were always offcamera (the hair salons) and in the last few years they have been forgotten entirely, complete with last year having Lawrence give Chrissie mad money to spend on projects. They seem to have rewritten the family history to make Chrissie and Rebecca warring daddy's girls. Rachel Hughes, Joe Sugden's stepdaughter, attended uni and lived in Leeds from 1991-1993. At one point her unstable ex-boyfriend moved there to spy on her.
  6. Ah. I thought it was further back than that. I guess I've seen so many of these Democrats who almost won and this is supposed to lead to more, only for them to slip into the system and the machine, that I blur them together.
  7. Given that they kept him out of the Senate by huge majorities it seems they don't really appreciate him, sadly. I don't think that would have happened, so I don't blame them there, but I can't praise them on this yet as there hasn't been a vote. A lot of these people cave when the vote happens.
  8. The character sucks and the actor isn't up to much either...although he has been given nothing to work with. He's just a generic "scary black man" cliche.
  9. I think she also auditioned for Amanda Spaulding or Mindy Lewis on GL, and wasn't she also a contender for Vicky/Marley on AW? She would have done well in most of those roles. It's odd that she was cast by no soap after SB.
  10. Omarosa...continuing to be one of a kind... http://www.politico.com/story/2017/03/trump-omarosa-white-house-235754 And in true Trumpian logic, he's going to push for more immigration "enforcement" while gutting the Coast Guard: http://www.politico.com/story/2017/03/trump-coast-guard-budget-235750
  11. Yes, Carrington reminds me more of Marcy than Eileen did; Eileen is a much colder actress and also more mechanical. (which is why she suited Kristen so well - I sometimes wonder if one of the reasons she seems somewhat ambivalent about Kristen is because it does suit her so well...) Why do you think they did such a poor job with that Kimberly McArthur recast? You'd think they had years to prepare for Robin leaving. What did you think of Keith? To me his value kind of ends once the Cruz in prison story is over. (watching that again recently I was surprised they actually touched on prison affecting his psyche and hurting him - soaps rarely do this because they want us to see the leading men as BAMFs)
  12. Watching the old clips again you can see how much vibrancy Carrington has as Kelly and how she made the role her own. Robin is very good as well, her work holds up extremely well and I don't think anyone else could have given all those "Kelly in peril" stories the intelligence she did, but Carrington suits the looser and more unfocused years of the show more. Do you think that's why the Dobsons had an issue with her? Was Eileen supposed to be some return to an intelligent Kelly?
  13. Thanks for sharing that with us.
  14. Finn Jones has fled Twitter after getting into it with people over Danny Rand and Asian representation. And is getting a lot of hate as a result. I wish I was more surprised Marvel is too busy counting the money to tell their actors to stay out of these things when they are not going to be able to say what people want to hear.
  15. I think he was gone a year or so. He made some TV-movie (maybe it was a failed backdoor pilot?).
  16. Likely already been mentioned here, but how sickening this is, especially as an idea to "deter" women with children from coming here. They really do think that there are all kinds of carefree people who just come here to mooch off the system, don't they? Many of these people have no real choice. So they will either now come over here and lose their children, or they will stay where they are and they and their children will be violated in countless ways and suffer and die. No wonder people hate us. http://www.politico.com/story/2017/03/kelly-migrant-chidren-travel-ban-235738
  17. The nose job on the one and the Botox on the other distract me...
  18. Those scenes with Alex and Cassie, from acting to scoring, are MST3K-worthy. Awful! You can see why the soap press had a field day. The man harassing Stephanie looks familiar. Or sounds familiar.
  19. Another example of why I don't take the Washington Post seriously, no matter how much they pat themselves on the back. Even now they are still trying to stretch for any "both sides are bad" and "this is why we have to be special in a way both sides aren't" delusions. https://www.washingtonpost.com/news/the-fix/wp/2017/03/06/the-sorry-state-of-political-discourse-right-now-in-five-bernie-sanders-tweets/?utm_term=.b65670e550c1
  20. What do you think was the best story Loving ever did, and the worst?
  21. The actor that played Todd put up some clips if you ever want to see them: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCSK2puzMwhTa6W9x1sUjqgg What did you think of the twist that Cabot sabotaged the plane that Shana's husband and child died on, and of all that stuff with Dane Hammond around that time? And what did you think of the different variations on Isabelle?
  22. What did you think of the Alex/Clay twist, and the Alex recast, and Egypt, and her brother Todd?
