I feel like no one even cares at this point. It's just such an upside down world. Democrats are teaching each other apart, bound and determined to give Trump a second term (I genuinely believe many of them secretly want him to be reelected), while Trump skates and skates. I just hope somebody starts looking more into how complicit the NYT is with this administration. I feel like they aren't even trying to hide it.

Felicity Huffman and Lori Loughlin indicted in bribery case
She looked great. At least she's providing style tips for her lessers.

Netflix: One Day at a Time
Thanks. That must have been the other one. And yeah I forgot about the day. Anyway, sorry for threadjacking.

Netflix: One Day at a Time
ABC wanted to buy Edge of Night to keep the show going. P&G said no. I think this also happened with another show - maybe Search - but I'm not sure.
-
Netflix: One Day at a Time
What I meant was several of P&G's soaps died because P&G rejected offers by the networks to buy them.

Netflix: One Day at a Time
Justina looks like she's trying so hard not to cry. This news is what it feels like to be a P&G soap fan. That sums it up for me.

Netflix: One Day at a Time
Given Netflix supports a show that seems to encourage suicide, I no longer have any hope on that front.

Netflix: One Day at a Time
I actually have CBS All Access (for now anyway) so I hope it works out. If Netflix is so spiteful as to not let the show go (I know there are money and rights and so on but if they actually do love the show as much as they claim they will make this work) I'm really going to have to consider whether I keep my subscription with them.

That means he behaved like the subhuman creature he is. It doesn't guarantee anyone's vote, any more than the idea that all Hispanics would vote for Democrats because of immigration. Many voters don't work that way (and many voters are self-defeating). Talking about how all these voters are being served up on a plate assumes everyone is the same and all you have to do is crack the code. It's the same cynical view that all Republican strategists have. Going on Twitter and lecturing people, instead of actually doing anything to help, shows how little Wilson is able to see these voters as worth actually caring about.

The irony is that the "no more white men" stuff is in the long run most likely to benefit Bernie Sanders, the candidate I'd say may be the least interested in advancing anything that will help those who are saying this.

Trump is HANDING you Puerto Rican voters in Florida. On a platter. Blanket statements like this have nothing to do with organized efforts. They are grandstanding for Twitter likes, and yes, I do think they treat Puerto Ricans like chattel.

Then I would think that would be a local issue he should be talking to state Democrats about, not something to bitch about on Twitter for people that have nothing to do with any of it. While treating Puerto Ricans as chattel who can be told how to vote with enough pats on the head.

What does he know about Puerto Rico or Puerto Rican voters? How many times have we seen white people telling us what people who are nothing like them are going to do? The idea that Puerto Rican voters are being "handed" to Democrats is patronizing beyond belief. He supported hatemongers and bigots with a smile on his face. I have no interest in him.

I think what hurts more is that Jussie worked hard to present himself as a representative and a name, going on about how he was targeted for "going hard" against Trump, calling himself the gay Tupac, and so on. With that said, it is the responsibility of other people to not play his game and to not associate all black lgbtq people with him. If they do, then they are racist and homophobic.

Apparently it was. Ever since his shockingly glib reaction to being not only blamed for an election loss, but also railroaded out of his job by a vengeful President, I've gotten sociopath vibes from him. That really went off the charts today.

They would have just said Edwards made a mistake, everyone does, and say Jesus anointed him (as they say for Trump). You know they actually paint pictures of Jesus walking with Trump. It just makes your skin crawl.

That's exactly what will happen, and it's what many on the right and left want to happen. I really will be surprised if Trump isn't reelected.

In right wing money suck circle news, DC McAllister, who, sadly, is not a kick-ass newspaper editor from 1945 but is instead...this person, has gotten fired from her job at The Federalist. She claims it's because of her comments about gay journalist Yashar Ali, which included such gems as he is trying to "find himself in another man's [!@#$%^&*]," but the likely reason is because she decided to decided to go off about the ladies of The View, even though one of them is married to...the co-founder of The Federalist. And she was even at her wedding. Yes, it is nepotism icon, Meghan McCain. https://www.inquisitr.com/5369520/dc-mcallister-you-were-at-my-wedding-denise-meme-fired-by-that-weddings-groom/ http://www.papermag.com/meghan-mccain-denise-response-2632983881.html Anyway, Ben Shapiro also canned her from her gig at the Daily Wire, she claims because of her comments about a gay man. I find that very hard to believe, so I wonder if he was just looking for an excuse. If not, then the idea of being too homophobic for Ben Shapiro is mind-boggling. I'm sure Trump will make her a Cabinet secretary soon enough. Or she can go drain money on whatever the far right uses in place of Patreon now.

I can see why people who supported Clinton would be annoyed, and I agree that white men have a privilege that no one else does (and I think that is another reason so many resent and dislike Pete, because they don't feel he has done enough to accept his privilege). It's just that in this case, when the comments are brought up two months after being said, and are brought up by a white man no less, then it feels less like genuine anger on behalf of Hillary to me and more like someone either not being able to have their campaign tactics criticized, or, possibly, someone who has an issue with Pete or is more inclined to support another candidate, and chooses to make this a topic just as Pete is gaining in the polls. All he's done is just yet again expose Hillary to negative media conversation and attacks, even as she has tried to move on. It gives me bad flashbacks to the way that Bill, Mark Penn, and so many others on her two campaigns behaved.

I feel very cynical about the Mayor Pete boomlet (I feel like some people just want to feel cool about briefly taking a look at a gay candidate even though he's otherwise very mainstream), and I am even more cynical about his canned answers (especially the one about Chick Fil A), but this response from one of Hillary's campaign people - a full two months after Pete made comments about her (comments that were not even that bad) reminds me of how narcissistic and petty the people around her often were. I did feel that her campaign over time became more and more about how awful Trump was and not about anything she could do. Some of that was only natural - she was so well known and so polarizing that many were never going to care about her policies, no matter how much she talked about them - but it was a huge drain in the last months of her campaign, and I will always feel that decisions like having Tim Kaine talk entirely about Trump during the VP debate were a mistake. The idea that her campaign can't be criticized and people need to go on and on about how outraged they are on her behalf (when it's really all about themselves) gives me Bernie vibes. I have no desire to be anywhere around that type of entitlement when so much is at stake. The part about 66,000,000 people who disagree is entitled beyond belief. I voted for Hillary, but I don't disagree with what he says. The idea of a fourth white man potentially taking up space in this primary (which I don't think will happen, but is a possibility of course) has brought out so much of the identity politics knife fighting. I have seen some Elizabeth Warren fans who are especially upset about his recent poll climbs and the people who praise his intellect or abilities while not having enough to say about her. I can understand that - I would say Warren is far more qualified than he will ever be - but the truth is that Warren badly damaged herself last year and that is likely always going to haunt her in this primary. Her moment has come and gone.

I agree with you, but I think there are a lot of issues with Biden that are going to exist whether they're addressed now or not. It's not the same for me as the way some of the younger candidates are being treated, like, say, Kamala Harris, who has been subjected to all kinds of racist, vicious attacks by people on the left who are clearly terrified of her.

There were attacks on "Uncle Joe" for years over behaving inappropriately with women at the swearing in ceremonies. I told myself it was just right wing hypocrisy and that it was being exaggerated. I still think that's true, but in the last few years I've started to realize more that if I was a woman and a man was treating me that way in a situation where I can't really argue, I would be upset about the experience.

I saw a Samantha Bee piece on them. She kind of undermined it with her cutesy and strange delivery, but there were still some points.- The Politics Thread
The likes of Rees Mogg and Boris Johnson are so craven and opportunistic beyond words. Rees Mogg in particular shredded his credibility for a failed leadership gambit. They'd be at home in the GOP, although I have a feeling the likes of deathstar McConnell would crush them underfoot. - The Politics Thread
